Very interesting, thanks for the impression! I am not sure I can agree when you say it's a very quiet keyboard. Stock did not sound quiet at all, it was very ring-y. It was only after you added foam and lubed the switches into submission that it became quiet. Still, thank you so much! :)
Good video! I use an Iris too, I tented it 50 degrees. And if I can say one thing to your audio: either the compression on the microphone is too high or you need to speak up ever so slightly, for me as a non-native English speaker I have to cramp up the volume to be able to understand you talking. Very nice editing! Keep up the good work!
@@val0rance If you havent figured it out yet, turn up your mic to a normal level, compress it a bit to level out the audio, then put on a gate. The static issues shouldn't be too noticeable while you're talking, and the gate will stop the static when you're not talking.
What an intriguing layout! IIRC having e on a thumb was used in a layout for Maltron keyboards long ago, but this seems to go further. Looking forward to your experience report, if you make one. Personally I've been on Colemak for 15 years, and because it's comfortable I don't see much point in switching again to anything else, as it would likely be only marginal gains I believe.
For sure, most of these layouts that go further are more improvements on paper than anything in reality. I'll probably make and update once I'm past 180 WPM.
