When i first saw this thing i was immediately thinking "i wish this was available when i was young", but i think i will get it for my nephew anyway.

I made a massive mistake in buying this without thinking.
There is not a single room in my house big enough to have a cause outside of a tiny circle.
Waiting for next Summer to play it outside when its not raining all the time. Thank god for the Switch's portability.

Nintendo just picked up something that already exists in much cheaper ways (regular rc cars and making race tracks out of junk at home) and made me want to spend 90€ for it just to have the experience of watching this through a screen instead of looking at the actual thing. I love it.

That's what I was thinking. He showed it in a live setting crafted with love. (Nice course!) He showed two-player. And he showed a lot from the live perspective rather than just the AR, which I haven't seen in other videos. Well done.

I unironically would love to see live tournament events based on this. Like those remote-controlled car racing competitions that people do, but everyone having their custom Nintendo character kart, and Nintendo-themed physical tracks and whatnot. I would have absolutely loved to do something like that as a kid at my local game shop.

I want Toad. My 8 yr old wants Peach. My 11 yr old would probs lose it over Bowser.
The only problem I can foresee is if they bring out more they will need to create modified character outfits that still suit Toad, Peach, Bowser, etc. Which I personally would love to see, but Nintendo hasn't really shown any willingness to do this very often in the past. All outfits are synced when you swap carts. (We tested it today as we have one of each.) So for every outfit Mario/Luigi have and every car option, it would have to be modified to work on a character with a very different body shape.
Would I love to see more character options? 100%
Do I think Nintendo will? Probs not.
@@mockingjay478 they will if enough people buy them. RUclipsr consensus is positive about it but it depends if this translates into a big Xmas seller. But I get what you’re saying it doesn’t feel like they’ve built this to be more of a limited time thing and not a longer term eco system.

It's likely the battery life. The faster the Kart goes, the quicker the battery dies.

Are there any shells in game? If rhere are, what happens if you are hit with one or slip on banana peel, does the cart stop for a second, or does it actually spin out?
I remember getting mario kart toys that had wind up wheels on them that would just go in a straight line and i thought those were pretty cool lol. This is a whole other level of cool...
