Funny, I put this on last night. Had the citrus blast and then disappeared. Both I woke up in my sleep and the next day, I could smell something really good - thought it was something new I used in my hair, but it wasn’t. It was 1957. Like a creamy expensive luxurious body lotion. Subtle musky creamy scent. I really love it. It reminds me of Guerlain Cruel Gardenia that has the same effect.

Do you find many of the Exclusives are very weak? I found is one and even Sycamore to be very weak.
I agree with your description! I just love it when a perfume doesn’t announce itself, but comes and goes in its own time, with sensual little wafts of scent that give you and those around you moments of fragrant delight. I sprayed this in the afternoon and the next morning in yoga class it kept releasing the most delicious, subtle puffs of elegant perfection. Chanel 1957 is exceptionally mood lifting but also comforting and sexy. 9:28 And really, what more could you ask for in a fragrance? ❤
Love the scent, just got a couple of samples of 1957 from the Chanel store in Aventura Mall. I like it a lot, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this one. I love musk smelling fragrances and I love how this is not a bombastic fragrance, but more low key. I'm a male and my only concern is this fragrance leans just a tad feminine. That's really what's stopping me from purchasing a bottle. Any recommendations on similar fragrances? Keep up the great videos!
I have a bottle and I agree it does lean a touch into the floral and soft side, but for me its super nice bc I'm not smelling like other dudes. I will say after many many wearings I had to take a break from it for a while, because actually its suuuuper strong. I use less now than I do, one spray usually is enough. one on neck, one on wrists and that's it. for me its better when less detectable, and more of a background addition than a statement piece. I've started looking for new scents again. but still love it though... similar frags that I have smelled.. not many like this tbh. it really is unique. but I would rec checking out Wood Sage and Seasalt from Jo Malone. its also a subtle, lovely scent. for sure does not last as long. hmm... also maybe could check out Gris Dior. but those don't really have the musk. could check this one out but I haven't tried: tinyurl.com/8vjkn5hd best of luck
Funnily enough , the weather here in The UK is warming up so I pulled the trigger on Chanel pour Monsieur this evening ….A bit boring but I like it for a dumb reach summer wear to the office … I didn’t know this 1957 even existed 😊 Great review as always Joel 👍
Chanel 1957 better have 1957 rules and regulations! Meaning they better be able to make the fragrance like in 1957! Strong and heavy with all the perks of being in 1957! Yeaaaa...Nice review Joel..
Love so many things about 1957. My most worn exclusif. Excellent review and chat!

Thx Chris! Enjoy the weather. :)
EDT or Parfum version?? I find that the difference is quite noticeable between the 2 versions. Prefer the EDT myself.
Joel The Nose you have good taste. Newer subscriber enjoying your content.
Thank you and welcome!
I think that Olivier was the perfumer , not Jacques
