More Dynamic drills please! Love this! Did this 25 years ago when I started at 15...as a former baseball player in H.S. my golf coach called this the "Ken Griffey Jr. Drill"
Tyler McGhie hey man love the vids, I’m a new subscriber! Do you have any vids and if not would you be able to address something I don’t see very many teachers speak about. The issue I’m referring to is how and when you release the arms down from the start of the downswing. In this video you touched on if people don’t do that with this drill they just end up spinning in the attempts to open up the body through impact. The problem I have is how to release these arms and where you are trying to get the hands back to, just pre impact so that your shaft and sweet spot are in the proper delivery area. I struggle with not releasing earlier enough which causes me to be to square (body wise) at impact and then I’m forced to release my arms and wrist angles to get back on the ball at impact which then causes me to stand up (invade with hips - closer to the ball) and lose space. I like how you explain things and I’m hoping maybe you could address this in an upcoming video. Thanks very much for your time Tyler!
@Tyler - Can you do a video to discuss the slight fall towards the target in transition at the top. Lately I've been doing this and then straightening of my lead knee as the club approaches contact, driving the lead hip back. This has given me a different perspective on what rotation really is. My contact is more pure. Just wanted to hear your take on this movement.
With that transition move it typically will help you lead with the lower body, delay and calm down extra arm movement, produce a bit more energy bc of more stretch and put your lower body in a good spot to deliver a good strike at impact.
So what about the guys that have too much of a lateral move in their swing? That’s my issue, I get too much on my left (lead) side which causes me to tilt my chest back too much. I’ve been trying to “feel” like my left hip doesn’t move towards the target, it only moves away from the ball but I’m wondering if you have a good drill for someone like me?
A couple ideas. It is tough to say the reason without seeing it. But ideas are -if possible load/rotate a bit more into trail leg in backswing. This will help downswing rotation. - when doing the step drill try to have your foot hit the ground right before impact or at impact if you are going lateral to the target to much too early - keep pressure more on the inside of lead foot approaching impact and push into inside of lead heel at impact vs outside of the foot. - last option if club sweet spot needs you to slide to make good contact you would have to look a where the club is approaching the ball

@@tylermcghiegolf Thanks Tyler
I love the step drill. But it doesn’t feel the same for me when back to normal stance. Feel like I’m swaying and not shifting. But I’m not 100% sure
Hi Tyler, thank you for the great videos, can you do a couple on drills for turns to promote rotation and then release?
And tempo with the driver?
Justin James definitely! I’ll add those to ones to film.
Tyler McGhie - and if possible the 10-20 yard chip shots please?
Justin James you got it
3:37 - That was ripped!
Thanks! Yes I liked that one! haha
270 that’s pretty good for my hybrid 👀 thanks Tyler!
Yes I definitely would like to take more of those!
Anyone else there, or have you the run of that range?
Around 4-10 people on it most days. Lots of space around here luckily.

Tyler McGhie awesome, thanks! Got some things to think about!
