Lots of folks have asked if we have Patreon to support our travel expenses (let's face it, gas is crazy expensive in California). While we do not have Patreon, we can accept monetary donations through Venmo at History-Hunters
We also can accept donations through PayPal at j.benziger@sbcglobal.net
We acknowledge our donations at the end of our videos! Кино
You are right, Clayton Moore, was the Lone Ranger. Good choices to showcase.
Boy oh boy wasn't George Burns a fantastic entertainer and really is a legend of Hollywood.
Yes he was! Everybody cheered when he reached 100!
Hearing about these stars sure brings back wonderful memories! Thanks Jeff and Sarah!
It sure does for me, too! Jeff sends his blessings!
Always , and invariably, a wonderful experience watching your videos. Please know how much many of us enjoy these.
I am really thankful that you enjoyed this video, Mel! Part of the reward for completing each video is knowing that we have people who enjoy watching! Thank you!
I visited Errol's grave in 2004.....I'm a big Flynn fan....thanks for the memory.
I appreciate your comments!
Glad to see that Nat King Cole is resting in such a beautiful and peaceful place. One of my favorites.
My dad didn't talk much about his childhood but he did say he loved the Stooges as a kid. Wish he had told me more. Thanks for bringing the memories every week.
A HEART WARMING show again. You SIR are a True Professional ..
If you wanted to talk about each famous person buried in Forest lawn it would take several episodes. For sure one of the most beautiful memorial parks..Thanks for taking us there.
Wow! The Lone Ranger, Clayton Moore and Tonto, Jay Silverheels.
That was my favorite show in my younger years. I watched them before school in the morning and on weekends. Great video Jeff.
Excellent excellent, 17 minutes and 47 seconds of taking us away and back in time. This one brought tears over George Burns and Gracie Allen and ended bringing us a big smile over Sarah’s wonderful laugh🌺❤️ always the best!!!! Mar
Thanks Jeff and Sarah for another great episode. Hugh O'brien was in John Wayne's last movie The Shootist, as the owner of the bar who loses the duel J.B.Brooks. One weird thing about Clara Bow was Bella Legosi had a nude painting of her. When I worked at the Henry Ford Estate, I met Natalie Cole. She was a very nice person and was very sweet. Walt Disney's Nephew Roy I was able for a little while, got to know him through working at The Henry Ford Museum. He reminded me a lot of his Uncle Walt from the Videos and books that I had read about him. I had the real pleasure of having lunch with him and his future 2nd wife. They both were extremely nice, if my Mom had not been in the hospital; I would have been able to at least ask about first hand knowledge of Walt Disney. My state of mind wasn't the best and Roy Disney understood; he was extremely kind.
Been going there since 1971 everything looks the same. My mother took me there to see the new David statue after the original was destroyed in the Sylmar earthquake.
Supposedly the new statue has rollers under it.
Great place, thank you for taking me there today. Nice to get out of the house.😄
Jeff and Sarah, thanks so much for another great episode. I especially enjoyed the Clayton Moore segment. The Lone Ranger was a hero to me when I was a boy. How fortunate you were to have corresponded with him.
Yes, Clayton Moore was the "Lone Ranger."
Well done Jeff ! Beautiful Well kept cemetary ! Covered some old classic actors, I am a big fan of the Marx Brothers they were classic , still watch old Groucho you bet your life clips , and I soitenly appreciated Larry Fine and the Stooges ! Good stuff and put together well ! Thanks Bob
I love the in depth research apparent in each episode.
You did it again Jeff, very informative info on these actors. I loved to watch The Lone Ranger, Wyatt Earp, etc.
Thanks for putting this video together. Fascinating information on some of the actors and actresses from the golden era of Hollywood. Always look forward to your films and stories.
Thank you so much, David!!!
Another good report by you. Enjoyed it very much. My elementary school, Cerritos, is located across the street from the entrance of Glendale Forest Lawn. I attended the school from 1964 to 1971. K to 6th grades. Many times, from the playgrounds, we would see long funeral lines of flower cars and moaners following the hearse, passing and going toward the entrance. We would ask our teachers about it and they would say you need to ask your parents. Of course, it was always someone famous. A lot of stars back then died of smoking-related cancers, alcohol use, or overdoses. In kindergarten, our teacher walked the class over to the fountain pond to see all the waterfowl there. Saw many geese and duck eggs around the pond. One time I rode my bike to the pond when I was about 7-8 years old and found a goose egg. I picked it up and put it into my front pocket and rode my bike home. Just as I crossed San Fernando Road at South Glendale Avenue, the egg broke in my pocket. What a mess it was scooping shell and yoke out of it on the sidewalk. My older brother and sister on October 30th would sneak over the wall next to a friend's house and get chassed by the night guards. They were never caught but came close a few times. They never did any harm to the grave markers. Just wanted to see if they saw any ghosts that night. To this day I have no idea if they ever did. From my home, we could watch them remove the cross from on top of the museum and replace it with a star for Christmas to represent the Star of Bethlehem.
Thank to all of you at History Hunters for another awesome, informative video. Lots of famous people at that cemetery.
Thanks Dave! Glad you enjoyed this video!
Another great educational video Jeff!
Most of the actors were a little before my time, however I do remember watching the Lone Ranger reruns on Saturday mornings, just before Beanie and Cecil; ooops, did I just give my age away?
Allan in Wichita
Thank you for another great history lesson. The added clips of some of the stars at work was a plus as well. "Hi ho, Silver, Away!"
Great video as usual Jeff! After I saw “Oh God” with George Burns I wished God would come visit me like that (it never happened).
Very good! Graveyards are a great way to delve into the past of so many interesting people, places and stories.
I would agree, John. Each grave represents a life which had a story, famous or not.
@@jbenziggy you create a timeline of the movie star's life when they were in the prime of their career through the end of their life (sometimes not glamorous at all). It is particularly interesting for the stars from the early 20th century. I hope you're able to have a History Hunters shirt made (swinging lightbulb or the guns logo would be fine)...I'd buy a few shirts!
Happy Sunday, Jeff and Sarah! I always look forward to your videos.I didn't know that Billy Barty did impressions. His Jimmy Durante is hilarious! 🤣🤣 It's always interesting to see how some of these celebrities have such humble gravesites. Thank you for the tour. 🙂
Where the hell are we? 😂 Another great episode, just missing Sarah's humor. Was that her laugh at the end? Interesting to hear about the old Hollywood scandals, in light of the current Johnny Depp trial. Guess it's nothing new in Hollywood. Thanks for all your hard work to bring us a peak at our, many times forgotten, past.
I love hearing about all these actors from before my time. I always liked to listen to George Burns! Black and white films are fun to watch. Thank you for sharing!
Yep!
Clayton Moore was definitely the Lone Ranger!
I still watch him today whenever I can find The Lone Ranger & I'm going to be 69 in September.
Still a big kid at heart.
The other guy wasn't even good enough to shine his shoes.
They made a big mistake letting Moore go the way they did.
I've been to this cemetery a few times and love walking around. I spent a few hours around the area of the Freedom Mausoleum when I went to visit Walt Disney's final resting place on my birthday weekend last year. Thank you for sharing this!
He is not there! He had his body frozen
Thank you for the lovely tour. I have visited this cemetery on a trip from Australia. My friends didn't unrerstand my fascination, but I loved seeing so many of my screen idols. Cant wait for Part 2.
Part 2 already came out Sunday! Please find it!
Loved the out take. Nice too see you make mistakes too just like the rest of us. I've thanked you many times for your videos hope it's not getting old. Thanks again one of your best.
What an incredible video! You were able to cover so much information in your signature laid back but a bit way well covering a great deal of information. You really have created a masterpiece, thank you! The bloopers at the end were hysterical, absolutely loved it. Thanks to both for all of the hard work that went into this and have a great day!
You make this cemetery come alive .You put a face with each stone . Jeff is a cut above, those who visit celebrity graves . We enjoyed every minute 😊😊
Awesome one. I can’t believe how much information you are able to research and include for us. I love the bloopers too!!!
It just takes a lot of research a lot of writing and a lot of recording. Lol thank you for appreciating the effort that it takes! The blooper is just to show you that we are not as polished as you think. Lol
Jeff you out did yourself yet again with all the research and knowledge and made a really good video that i enjoyed Thankyou Jeff and Sarah for sharing it
Jeff, I can't tell you enough how much I truly appreciate and enjoy your videos especially the cemetery videos that you put together. I understand that it's a lot of work putting these videos together to show to your many followers and devoted fans. You have a unique way of telling a story that ties in to the many videos that you show each and every week. They are so informative and a lot of fun to watch. Thank you sir for your many hours of breathtaking entertainment along with so many wonderful memories of an era gone by, never to be seen again.
Your comments mean a great deal to me because you appreciate the work that goes into these videos! I spend literally hours and hours for a 17-25 minute video. I don't think the average person realizes all that goes into the production and research as well as the travel time! So thank you very much, Mark. Your comment made my day!
Appreciate the research and time spent creating these videos. They are truly enjoyed. Thank you!
Jeff, so interesting... I love the way you research the back stories of the people's lives, and intersperse them with a variety of visuals. There were definitely some names there I knew.
wonderful video, Jeff... 👏🙏🏼👏
My favorite silent film actor Lon Chaney is buried there, sadly it's off limit to the public. For unknown reason, his crypt is unmarked.
The Cemetery with alot of famous people sure is beautiful and peaceful. Can't wait for part 2.🙂
Thank you for your videos. Always an absolute joy to watch them.
Just great writing and thoroughly well researched and produced show.
I just wanted to see Errol Flynn grave. I went to Tasmania to visit the only hospita( now a tenement for elderlys) he was born in, his childhood home where the owners have adorned photos of young Errol in the entrance hall, his school, watching his first movie at the State Theatre, the dark sand beach where he learned how to swim. Yes I'm a big fan and intrigued with his journey from down under to Hollywood and ruling the box office. Very sad, actually to see his grave. He was broke, miserable and unhealthy
Larry Fine too. Why did they placed him all the way on the bottom?
Thanks again. Look forward to your videos. My wife and kids years ago would hate when I would drive by old cemeteries, I had to stop and look. Especially if it was near Civil War areas. Good job and thanks as always!
Wow so many of the famous are there in their final resting place.. Jeff I find it interesting how some people are born in one area of the country and end up in another and some may travel a lot but their final resting place is not far from where they were born.. as always Thank You and Sarah for another great episode!👍👍
Another great video. I particularly liked how you didn't just cover biggies, but also a few that I was unfamiliar with. Thank you. Patiently waiting for part 2 to come out. Is it ready yet? How about now? But seriously thank you for all your GREAT videos.
Wonderful presentation of the final resting places of some of Hollywood's greatest actors. I especially liked the presentation of Clayton Moore. I still watch the Lone Ranger on TV. He truly lived and breathed the character of the Lone Ranger.
Clapton Moore, what a wonderful handsome man, i cried when he passed... loved his horse as well, what a great combination they were... saw Jay Silverheels (Tonto) when he rode the sulkies after his retirement from acting, great memories of them both...
Awesome episode Jeff! I look forward to part two. Thanks for all the hard work you put into each episode, it's greatly appreciated!
Great narrative filled with accurate information. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really enjoy your videos, they are great history lessons of not only California but also the movie industry.
So many actors that we loved thanks for the memories
🥰
Excellent as usual ! Thank you for being a weekend staple for me
Old Errol's swordsmanship was legendary.
Yes, I think I know what you are saying subliminally! LOL
Yes, many, many fond memories this Sunday morning. Thanks.
We are glad to bring you those fond memories this Sunday morning, Joyce! Thank you so much.
This is my absolute favorite episode that I feel you have done. I love all your episodes but this is my favorite. 10 thumbs up. Great Great Job my friend
Thank you again Jeff and Sarah.
as others have said " We All enjoy your videos"
thank you so much for taking the time to produce them.
history is so important. especially stage, film and TV actors/actress's
Thank you very much for watching and most importantly enjoying our videos. It takes a lot of effort and time to produce these and our reward is knowing that a lot of people are very pleased when they watch them. Thank you for letting us know Jon. We appreciate it.
Thank you again. There is only one Lone Ranger!
Jeff & Sarah, as always, an immense amount of interesting information. Thanks. PH
Thank you so much!!!
I'm glad there's a Part 2 coming...this just wasn't enough this morning. Lots of wonderful memories of screen legends.
Always fascinating HH vids! Look forward to them every week! Thnx Jeff and Sarah!
Hugh O'Brian was also in John Wayne's last movie "The Shootist", faro dealer and gun slinger Pulford.
Always a great start to my day, you, Sarah and a cup of coffee! Thanks for another great episode...bring on Part 2!
I enjoy visiting Buster Keaton there. He was a great performer and a great person.
Another great video. Strong editing work. Appreciate your efforts !
This is a great part of my Sundays to see your videos. I miss my home state of California. You go to a lot of places I have visited, including this cemetery. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to watch.
That makes our hearts glad, Diane! We really like to hear how they are part of your Sunday routine!
Thanks so much, you do an excellent job in explaining everything in your videos
You're very welcome! Happy to know that our work appeals to you! Blessings, Stuart!
some memories, my life flashed before my eyes thank you ALL stay safe
Thanks, so enjoyed much, I really loved the comedy of Gracie and George, Clayton Moore the Lone Ranger, so many greats, so many memories. Errol Flynn, I adored Robin Hood and Captain Blood, Elizabeth, and Essex. He died 4 or 5 blocks from me here in Vancouver Canada, even though they list it as happening at VGH, Vancouver General Hospital. Have a great week!
I remember seeing Errol Flynn's grave when I was a Boy back in 1970 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in L.A. It was an "Unmarked grave with a small statue on it. My Father was a big Errol Flynn fan......
I didn’t realize what a messed up life he led. Apparently he overdid the alcohol and the women.
@@jbenziggy There's an autobiography on Errol Flynn. It's called; "Errol Flynn, My Wicked, Wicked Ways"....... Errol Flynn did all sorts of things using cocaine....
I just found your channel a few weeks ago. Up to that point, I only enjoyed watching "grave" videos done by Hollywood Graveyard. I think I've watched at least 5 of yours now so I can honestly say I now have two cemetery video producers to watch! What I really like about yours is you dont cover just Hollywood folks but anyone with some sort of History behind them. Keep up the good work! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go search for more of your cemetery videos!!!!
I love that you wrote and asked for autographs. The Lone Ranger! Whenever I think about him, I associate Batman and Adam West. I think he was held back.
A good episode, took a few moments imagining a young Jeff getting his mail, running through the house ... Tonto Tonto
Getting those big manila envelopes in the mail with autographs was my source of joy stuck out in the country! LOL
I have heard that Walt Disney was cremated. Did they bury his cremains, inter, or scatter them there, do you know?
Love seeing how George gave Gracie top billing. That is just so perfect!
Great episode, as always! :)
He had his body frozen!
Wow this was great episode! You probably could have made a few episodes with all the actors and celebrities that are at that cemetery.
I enjoyed listening to all the back stories on all of them. I like learning something new that I never knew before. Thank you guy’s, keep up the great work and look forward to the next one. Take care now! Frank from Philadelphia, PA.
I love listening to Nat King Cole because of his, as you said, smooth, easy voice to listen to. I always enjoy watching Cat Ballou. I have it in my video collection.
Soo many of my favorite shows. Still love to watch all those beautiful talented stars. Thank you 😊.
Again, a well done history lesson. Keep up the fine work.
Jeff, thank you for your research and sharing this information with all of us. Your videos are professionally done! Hope you and Sarah are doing well.
Well thank you again for your very nice compliments. Sarah and I are doing well so thanks for asking. Hope life is treating you well. Blessings to you.
Another excellent video Jeff, great balance of visual content and biographical research. I can see why people would chose Forest Lawn for their final resting place. It's lovely both inside and outside.
Oh, i love you two History Hunters. Excellent Episode. 100% nailed my Taste. Want more! Best Greetings from Germany :)
Hello friend, glad you appreciated our video! You honor us by watching our work!
I like to add about Billy Barty, I was 9 or 10 years old in 1963-1964. I was living in Rialto, California and Rialto could easily pick up the Los Angeles stations. Anyway, Billy had a afternoon childrens show that presented cartoons, game contests and entertainment with a "peanut" gallery of kids enjoying the show. I used to enjoy coming back from school and watch his show. (I think it was on KTTV channel 11 at 3:30 P.M.) It was called "The Billy Barty Show." Bless you Billy for my memories..wherever you are.
I love this video! It is so well done; with great visuals and loaded with history as usual!
I was delighted to see you walk by the niche of my parents as well!
Happy Sunday! Another video! AWESOME!
Enjoyed this George and Gracie were a funny team and alot the others cool to watch. Thanks have a great evening
Thank you James. I’m glad that you enjoyed our video!
What a great job. Particularly liked the old film clips of the celebrities.
Now I have a brain worm of Wyatt Earp: 🎵🎶 “…brave, courageous and bold….Long live his fame and long live his glory, and long may his story be told”🎶. I didn’t even like him so much, but the Lone Ranger? Silver’s majesty displayed it all for me! From a kid of the ‘50s TV.
I Love the tours, of the Deceased Celebrities, it is so interesting, My Parents, and Sister, are about a few steps, away from Walt Disney, at Forest Lawn Glendale, Thank You for the information.
Great video! I am currently in the process of selling my grandparents plots in the Court of Freedom as they will be buried in AZ where they retired. At one moment you stood right in front of their plots! My father is in the Garden of Honors towards the opposite end of the court. Been there SO many times and in the mausoleum and had NO IDEA Walt Disney and others were here! Its an incredibly beautiful cemetery.
I was waiting for today Jeff and happy to see you post once again on a sunny Sunday morning. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed this video, Jerry! Thank you so much for being a great subscriber!
The likes need to be 10x more. The Golden Age of Hollywood and silent era needs to be remembered. I have many cigarette cards of old Hollywood. I got excited when you talked about Mr Bushman. I was very interested in him in the 90's and found any bios on him. He was a very handsome man. Reminds me so much of Lyle Waggoner. Beautiful humans. Thank you for your videos of old Hollywood. I truly adore those days. Clara Bow was a gem but many had issues then like they do now. Why don't people learn of the downfall of the lifestyle of acting?
PS...I have a cigarette card of Walt Disney with Mickey Mouse from the the 1930's. One of my treasures.
I truly appreciate your history hunting!!
I enjoyed this one too Jeff. Super high end videos. Outtakes were fun
Wonderful video. Your narration is so professional. I always learn something new from your videos. Stay safe both of you!
As one who never liked my voice I really appreciate your compliment! Blessings to you and yours, Jan!
Thanks for such an interesting video, Jeff. Great commentary! A terrific job as always!!
Thank you for showing this video all of tham was so wonderful and loved by us all.
Hiya. I'm from Manchester England UK. I have rode 41 of your States on a Harley. Route 66 twice. 101 PCH. etc. I love your country, and your videos. Keep it up guys!
Thanks Gary! Stay safe! Blessings!
Thank You. We stayed at the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo WY. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid stayed there. I think you would do a great video of that place sometime. But i know its a long way from Cally. Anyway keep up your good work, and ignore the negative people. They're just Jealous.!
What a beautiful park! This is yet another top-notch video!
Always enjoy your videos and this one was no exception. My wife and I have been to Forest Lawn & visited the graves of those you mentioned and a few you didn’t (Tracy, Sammy Davis jr. Chico Marx, etc). Respectfully, I just wanted to correct one reference you made about Errol Flynn. There was only one tape trial (1942), for which he was acquitted & Warners never dropped him. He was there until 1953, when he left to produce his own movie with disastrous results (i.e., William Tell). He had a late-career comeback as, ironically, a screen drunk in “The Sun Also Rises.” Anyway, everything else was spot on. Keep up the great work - looking forward to the next ones.
WOW..WOW..WOW... WHAT AN EPISODE THANK YOU FOR BRINGING US ALONG !!! =)
Thanks friend 😘 💓
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and leaving us the comment.
Loved the Lone Ranger another awesome video Thank you
This is a beautiful cemetery 👍
