Can you do a series about getting dated homes ready to sell? As a realtor and decorator I feel your perspective on this would be amazing. Your home is already gorgeous, but maybe you can pull up mls listing photos to have examples of dated homes and budget recommendations to catch a buyer’s eye. I’m confident about designing my own space but when it comes to creating a blank canvas for the next person I find I’m not up to date on “essential” updates.

I’m so glad to hear that there’s a designer who isn’t a fan of the karate chopped pillows. I’ve never understood that look. I like a fluffed pillow so much more than a chopped pillow. I hope that trend ends soon.

I like how you have the two Copenhagen vases and white candle making a small, intimate horizontal plane triangle on the coffee table and the two white spheres with the white vase on the mantle making a vertical plane triangle. A reminder to look up as well as around at eye level.
Your tips are always presented in a way that is easy to understand and implement at any budget. I also LOVE the pictures you always include to illustrate you point. Decorating using visuals of what you are talking about is really appreciated.

I discovered I like the use of a triangle when arranging items instead of trying to strictly group items in three. Also, I love the idea of a color palette to help guide how to decorate and style rooms. Great tips. Going to think of how to employ repetition and some of the other tips. Love taking these ideas and applying them and seeing how they impact my spaces. Other people have commented on how beautiful my home has been coming along. It’s thanks to videos like this.

My biggest aha here is “scale.” Sometimes this error is obvious, but looking at my space I see where adding more of the wrong scale has left me disenchanted. I am going to enjoy falling in love with my home again as I implement purposeful scale. ❤️

Wow. This video helped me so much! I adore the triangle style idea versus grouping items in 3s. Definitely will be using all of these tips with my home. I have a color palette for each room but never thought to add textures to the palette also. I will be doing this tonight. So excited!

I have bought things that seemed right for the space but then realized they pushed the design style balance into one of those styles that was only supposed to be part of the 25%. Keeping the main colors consistent definitely helps. I have purchased a chaise that might end up in the office if it looks too out of place in the living room (fingers crossed that it will work). Following all of the design rules to a T can look boring (as you’ve noted) so a bit of a surprise now and then adds character and personality. You make this process fun - experimenting and zhooshing really helps liven things up!

I just adore your videos! what's so fun, is when I realise that I've been doing some of your tips naturally. A couple of months ago I told myself that I need to stop buying little accessories , because it just makes everything look so cluttered. 🙌 I would love to see how you would bring in some color - let’s say pinks or blue shades - starting with your neutral room. I’m thinking you’d keep everything the same but add some hot pink vases on the mantle, shades of pinks and rose in pillows and throws- coffee table books w blues… it would be fun to see how we could accomplish it at home - with your eyes and style. 🙏

Wonderful colour palette. I'm looking at my Benjamin Moore colour fan, and I see that 2132-10 is, as you've labeled, actually called "black". This is odd, because I've owned 6 different paint company's fans and have never seen a colour called "white", "red" "yellow" etc. But what really made me chuckle is that, living in Canada, my paint fan also gives the French name, which for this colour is "Noir Extreme". Gotta love that.

Another tip before you choose your colour palette🎨... If you already have a favorite piece of artwork (which is usually an expensive piece you have invested in) that you want in a specific room 🖼️.. Use the colours in that artwork to make up your colour palette for the room (great tip from the interior designer Rebecca "Kinwoven" on you tube).
