I know and acknowlegde that you guys are full blown adults, but there's something about the combination of her mannerisms and the way he looks at you (approving and admiring them) that makes me feel like you guys are like freshly moved in, college sweethearts excited about decorating. 🥺💞

Capturing Jack's revelation of how brilliant you are was priceless! And it's so true. I'm struggling with lines in my small house, and it's super irritating. It has to stay perfectly clean or it gets congested fast.

Hi you guys, I have been following your channel for a while now-and beside the wonderful and helpful tips: it has never been so comforting to see a video of you in this current terrible moment here in Europe. A bit of joy and laughter is what I need today. Hugs from Berlin❤️

YES PLEASE on the mixing of styles video! I love minimal, clean lines for the most part, with a mix in of primitive objects. My husband Loves color and has a bit of a traditional style. Strangely, the one thing that we connect on stylistically is our love of primitive, organic objects. (ie. potential for a visually confusing space). ❤ Love your videos! Your content is Great and you and Jack shine on camera❤

I am with Jack. The lines was so profound! I did not think of setting things to look beyond. My sightline in my home from the door is a wall. I may need to put something on the wall. "function" seems so simple but with precious space it is hard to know the best way to use a space. We have a "bonus" room in our house. It was toy room. Our kids are getting older with COVID we are currently turning into a homework room. It has a glorious built-in desk and a round table in the middle. They can hang out and play games on the weekend. This room is going to add so much to our lives. I have you to thank for adding "drama" to my house. It is looking the way I want it to. I painted my island black and it is so lovely. I love your home.
YES PLEASE do another video about mixing styles and working with someone who does not.

Love you guys! I was married forever to my high school sweetheart and getting used to being a widow… moving to a smaller home alone and having so much fun watching you and finding ways to make my new home cozy. ……. but I still like being me and I like black and white glamour
but with classic traditional mix. You are very helpful with your fun advice … Thank you 👍💕

Oh yes please for the video. Hubby and I are moving into a new house and we'd like to update our furniture (a lot of it is what we could afford when the kids were young and hasn't aged well). I love clean lines, and printed fabrics and he loves chunky 70's wooden furniture and pain fabrics!

Excellent tips! I agree with Jack: I've never heard a designer talk about the sight lines and how that changes the feel and design decisions of the space. I'm HUGE on seeing beyond my immediate space, but haven't thought through why. Thanks for these tips, and of course, always enjoy seeing you two interact on camera. :) And yes, a video on combining styles, please!

This is one if those videos that needs to be SAVED to a watch list because when you feel kind of lost or get stuck or confused about what it is that's just not working in your space you can go through this and look at each point to see what's off. At least it's one I'M going to save!!😂 I am in a place where I need change and am starting to jump in but just struggling with what I actually do like and how to use the anchor items but create a whole new look that isn't just ehh but Wow like you mentioned. THANK YOU!! Good job guys!

Awesome tips as always with great visuals. Yes please on the video "How to design with somebody that doesn't share your design style." I love a mix of old and new, but my husband likes more new-matchy, matchy. ONE example: I ordered a more "rustic" media center from Pottery Barn a couple years ago, and when I showed him the piece online, he hated it, said it didn't "go" with anything. But now that it's in our space he LOVES it. Also, how to incorporate what one has...maybe have less things out, move things around, etc. I have found that by just tweaking a few things I am loving my spaces more. I embrace my color pallet(neutrals) and style(rustic luxury) more thanks to you. You have been so inspiring for me, thank you!

What great tips! A sight line is so important! It is like when I create a photo or a piece of art. For an artist a focal point or where you lead the eye is so important. Sight lines are similar. Does it flow... Does it make sense. Are you creating an obstacle course or a comfortable easy flow... Is it too busy or does it make sense... 😊

❤️❤️ this is one of THE best videos you’ve published yet. The tips, the chemistry, the flow, photography, your interaction w the camera & even your hair looked perfect!
Re: the tips - totally agree w/them all & use these w/my staging. I remember decades ago I worked in a tile showroom where couples would come in to select tile, show me their architectural diagrams, carpet and paint samples, etc. It was a real eye opener to me who studied design in college, to see how different couples approached these decisions….some were similar, some just the wife was engaged, some where the husband was more engaged, and very few where the h&w were on the same page and work through the process. It was a lesson in psychology as well as design! 😊

Seriously this is how we are also communicating with our spouses and it makes the video 10x more enjoyable to watch because it’s totally relatable. It’s sweet how he admires the way you expressed your thoughts on sight lines and you’re like hunny you just now realized this is what I do 24/7?! 😆😆 Sounds like me and my husband…that is legit how our conversations go as well, and you can tell there’s nothing but love behind it all. I so get the style conversation. I did image consultancy years ago and identify ‘romantic, natural, classic and dramatic’ looks, and variations of them.
I used the colour knowledge in my job in retail clothing stores for years and steered people carefully towards colours that worked for them. Just as you said, men often know their style and colours instinctively.
Within a week or two I’m pulling my furniture out of storage and into a tiny cottage with a wood burner and a high, white washed pitched roof ceiling …. Wish me luck! Love your work! ❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺❤️
