I just admire the fact that when Siskel and Ebert first trade punches, they both don't look hurt, just mildly annoyed and angry, which makes it absolutely hilarious.
What makes this scene great is that their argument was not just a couple of jokes: Ebert really *DID* like BENJI THE HUNTED, and Siskel really *DID* like CARNOSAUR! LOL
Funny thing is _Benji the Hunted_ is a heartfelt Disney classic while _CARNOSAUR_ was just Corman's way to take advantage of Jurassic Park's popularity.
The best reviews were when they both didn't like a film, but disliked it for different reasons. "The movie was bad because of this and this!" "You're crazy, that was fine, this is the real reason the movie was terrible."
@@cugamer8862 This reminds me a lot of me and my friends talking about movies as Me and my roomate enjoyed Brightburn being a darker superman origin film well Me and my work friend james disliked Spider-man 3 well in my option it was alright at best just made eddie brock felt out of place

And he counters with "coming from the guy who liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?" Thankfully, there was never violence involved. I love my brother. :D
Reminds me when I told my friends janes and shaun I never thought Shark tales was a bad movie and they just did the song we don't talk about Bruno but with sharktales
I had no idea Jay Sherman was from another series. I'd only seen him in the Simpsons before now and he stuck in my mind from the Wolfcastle scene. I guess The Critic wasn't a thing in the UK when I was growing up.
i don't care what anybody says. I had always thought that the critic was a great show when it first came and I enjoyed watching it as well. It was great while it lasted too. It's a shame, The critic should had went up to six season instead of only two. I was told the reason they took it off the air at the time because of very low ratings. I think they could have been wrong about that but it is what it is.
My reaction to The amazing Spider-man as it was a pointless reboot that didn't need to be made as it copy the same plot to the 2002 spider-man film the plot with peter parents made me feel of hey arnold and the lizard is just a doc ock like replacement
See, the real irony of this comment (apart from the fact that BR2049 is actually a great movie) is the fact that Ebert probably wouldn't care or be disappointed in 2049 either way, cuz he didn't care much for the original Blade Runner in the first place.
I love the implication that Siskel and Ebert would watch an in-flight movie, and then immediately start talking about it like they were on their show
I just admire the fact that when Siskel and Ebert first trade punches, they both don't look hurt, just mildly annoyed and angry, which makes it absolutely hilarious.
Probably not the first time they fought each other.
I do love the hug from shared fear
What makes this scene great is that their argument was not just a couple of jokes:
Ebert really *DID* like BENJI THE HUNTED, and Siskel really *DID* like CARNOSAUR! LOL
What would’ve been way funnier is if instead of mentioning Benji the Hunted, Siskel mentions Cop and a Half.

Their “Worst Movies of 1993” ended with a brief banter for one liking the movie the other hated the most. Priceless!
"...Tom Cruise walks around Las Vegas with a bucketful of his brother." I like that Siskel was able to say that with a straight face.
Something he tells me he couldn't when he recorded the line
I wonder how many times he had to read that line without breaking into laughter.
He didn't. That was the fifth animation. They had to throw out the first four.
I like to believe that the insults S&E traded here were improvised in the recording studio.
Gotta love how they argue over the smallest things in films. Then again, they would argue over an ice cream sandwich…

I sure do miss all these guys. Gene Siskel, Roger Ebert ... and Jay Sherman!

Do you have social media?
Wait you two! Save it for Celebrity Deathmatch
nothing about Ebert liking Cop and a 1/2
I think this ep aired before 1993.
First off, “Carnosaur” came out in 1993. And second, this clip is on a full episode which came out in 1995.

Gene Shalit appeared in some The Critic episodes.
And he was hilarious.
you can totally tell most of the team of this worked in the simpsons
Fr even with the music choices
And one of the people directly involved would later bring us “Wreck It Ralph” and “Zootopia.”
1:05 Hasta LaVista Porky!

Got an ouiji board?

I miss this. Not just the show, but when the 90’s felt right for it.
When he tried to use an airplane liquor bottle as a knife.
They actually got Siskel and Ebert to do this?
They actually reviewed the show and they both gave it thumbs down ! LOL !
@@ricardocantoral7672 Gee, I wonder why?
They reviewed it before this episode was aired probably before it was even in production. They offered in their review to help fix some of the issues
Yes they did
They were actually on the show and prior to being on it they reviewed it as the only television show they've ever reviewed.
Wow haven't seen this in forever. Gives me strong family guy vibes
One of the main reasons I wanted anotyher The Critic season was for seeing more of Jay and Alice relationship...
The cameos are funny enough, but "Snow Man" had me in hysterics

Hasta la vista porky
Cue Ball in the side pocket
for a physical siskel and ebert fight, i think there was another one in celebrity deathmatch.
0:28 sounds like Betty DeVille
Love the final scene when they see Jay's face.. It wasn't a shudder like from his ex wife.
Too funny
That’s why Siskel & Ebert were so great, as opposed to Jay Sherman. They took their job very seriously and Sherman was just in it for the free snacks.
Twilight Zone reference. Nice.

I always thought Jay Sherman was a cross between Siskel and Ebert: both fat AND bald.
I wonder how much if this was scripted

About 50/50?

Siskel & Ebert & Jay & Alice Season 2 Episode 2
