Mine is actually bigger than yours, mine is the gama supreme..... Namiki emperor is my one and only grail pen and I hope i might be able to buy one someday....
One thing I would like to know about both of these is what the internal mechanism is made of. Or, more to the point, how nervous should I be about using these with an iron gall ink? I wouldn't worry about the gold nibs, but the shutoff valve and the food? Both are grail pens for me, but mostly the Emperor because of that nib. Thanks for pointing out that the color changes over time, interesting that your emperor started at the same color as your genkai. I like it's current color more.
And mine's not bright red either. On a more serious note, is it an actual one-way shut-off valve in these pens that'll allow some ink flow into the feed even when fully screwed in or not? I've always been a bit confused about that terminology. In the vacuum and bulkfillers I've had experience with, my understanding has been that when you screw in fully the similar shut-off valves at the ends of their central rods, you cut off the ink flow completely between the main ink chamber and the feed.
I've found with my Namiki that it will write with the tail-section completely screwed shut for a time because the feed holds a large volume of ink, but I've found that it will dry out over a long writing session. I usually unscrew the tail-section a little bit to ensure ink flow. I hope this addressed your question.
Are there any less expensive pens that fill this way and are medium to large size. I have one bit it's extremely small. What is the filling system called?
Your handwriting really shines with the emperor.
I love the Gold nibbed safari. Such a subtle yet effective flex.
The Taccia single pen kimonos are another good choice for these large pens.

The Emperor…...hands down! That nib!!!!

I started watching this on the treadmill today... almost fell off laughing at the intro lol lol good stuff... 😂😂
I love my Genkai. I have arthritis in my hands, and the Genkai is surprisingly extremely comfortable.
So which do you prefer? I own them both and my opinion changes daily.
The Emperor, all the way (and that was before I saw it write)! FIGHT!
'No, I'm just happy to see you.'
All Namiki Emperors & Danitrio Genkais, should be renamed: "Namiki Godzilla" & "Danitrio Godzilla":-)
Ano of those dildo pens, but not in shu... At least kuro-tamenuri. Once I get my hands on Emperor in shu I will just add tamenuri layers on my own.
20 Seconds in and I know my time won't be wasted
Great vid!!
Love the intro!!
The pen cap v Lamy Safari 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Where can you buy that Danitrio Genkai?

There is the Opus88 pens
@@sbrebrown thank you
Do you own most of these pens that you review? I feel like over the years I’ve seen you review at least a million dollars worth of pens.
Every time I say, "X lent me a pen for review", I do not own that pen.
I guess that’s what I get for skipping to the juicy parts on videos sometimes. Lol
$1000+ pens that skip
Those are BBC pens! That is big bright colored pens for all you dirty minds out there.
I though that was an acronym for "British Broadcasting Corp" - dirty mind indeed!
Genkai is my grail pen
Thank you, Stephen. That's what he/she/they/zim/xem said/signed/indicated.
Your double entendres kill me.
Now I know how people feel who look at my pens and question how one could cost three hundred.
I would kill a kitten for one of those.
Ok.
