Thanks Stephen, for that comparison. I’ve always wanted a Conid and configured their regular bulkfiller for purchase and then balked at the final price as well as the prospective delivery date, over three months the last time I checked. I’ve done it three times and think I’ll eventually go for it.
I teach math to 13 and 14 year old children...that is how they act when they drink coffee before they come to school. Thanks for another informative video.
Noodler's Ahab fills up completely with ink too after you convert it (easily) to an eye dropper - it's only $20us It's made of plastic and metal alloy too... I wonder if I send a Noodler's nib to a nib meister if it will write to my specifications the same or even better than either of these. Plus I can travel with it and if lose it quite easily replace it. :) The most interesting thing about these two pens is unfortunately their price. Just silly...
I’d put the Emperor in a class of it’s own: “Collosal Imperial Yacht“ (to stick with the nautical metaphor). The Pilot Custom Urushi comes to mind as fair match for Conid’s flagship. As they say: Never bring a knife to a shootout. :)
I know I should be impressed but sadly I'm not. As objects to look at, both are very nice in their own individual ways. I appreciate the time-consuming artistic work that goes into an Emperor and the precision engineering that goes into the Conid. However, I thought the writing performance of both pens were pretty unexceptional. Something of an anti-climax if I'm being honest. This is all good because I don't have to spend $2,000 to get a 'grail' pen. I am happy setting the bar a good deal lower!
Thank you, Stephen. Do the "bullet-time effect" from The Matrix.

As Always, Good stuff , with special effect as a bonus... Thank You
its like comparing a motorbike and a racing horse... apples and pears
I love your special effects.
Dr. Brown, are you going to review the new Platinum Procyon?
how much do you charge for your effects?
Great review but isn't the 'Giraffe' the biggest pen that Conid manufacture?
The longest, yes
Great video! Think you could do a shootout between the Kaweco Sport and Franklin-Christoph Model 45 sometime? Would be awesome.
Urushi pen, made by Japanese Company other than Pilot. Looking to stay around the $1,000-$1500 range. What do you recommend Stephen?
Nakaya.
isn't the giraffe the biggest Conid pen? I guess it is quite skinny though
For 2K it better come with a geisha

Yes, that is a pretty good description :-)
Nice comparison of two very different pens and dare I say "technologies". Appreciate it🙏🙏🙏
He has an Asian mistress 😂

There are loads of less expensive eyedropper pens out there... nobody interested in these pens is looking for pure economical utility.

Acid flashback confirmed.

I know how much new college profs make in the US. Am I the only one who's wondered (how gauche) if Stephen is independently wealthy?
Namiki emperor is my one and only Grail pen....
😂😂😂😂😂😂
