    SO HELPFUL! I've never hung peel & stick wallpaper before, let alone on the wonky walls of a 100+ year old home. The starting line with the level was gamechanging. Thanks for making it so easy to get this job done 🥰

    Thank you so much, it was a great tutorial! I especially liked that you picked a non flat wall with angles, electrical outlets, window and the decorative wood area. . You showed how to position the wallpaper and cut around everything and the wall area that you needed to start at the bottom instead of the top plus all the other tips. This was definitely a helpful video because of the problem/difficult areas that many of us could face and not know what to do. Looking forward to viewing your other videos.

    This is fantastic thank you so much. Can you please explain how you cut little pieces to fit in around the window instead of deceasing a full strip and cutting around the window? I don’t quite understand. I was wallpapering for the first time and as I went around the window, all of a sudden on the other side of the window, it didn’t match up anymore. I was using a full panel over the window and then cutting that part off and then using the panel underneath the window if that makes any sense?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  4 месяца назад

      I’m not quite following your question, I’m sorry! Traditionally if you have to go around an obstacle you use the full panel and cut out where needed. I only added pieces to this section because it was too small to work with a full piece easily.

    Hi. Are you using the leveler strictly for the purpose of a straight line? Can you use a yard stick and draw a straight line?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Месяц назад +1

      No the level is to get your plumb line. 🙂 Without the level you can draw a straight line but it might not be plumb, which would make your paper get more crooked as you go.

    • @GraceInMySpace

    Thank you so much, you made it very easy to follow & understand!! It also looks SO much brighter already from the before pic! We have a loft/attic space that looks very much like that. The walls have tiny little bumps all over them (not sure what that is called) so it’s not a candidate for wallpaper but I’m thinking of putting up maybe beadboard or something over it. We had to renovate our bathroom and I really don’t want the mess of removing & installing new drywall up there. It serves as a guest bedroom.

    I’ve hung plenty of traditional wallpaper but never the peel and stick. This was a great tutorial. I typically use a 4-6” broad metal putty knife to trim with - it’s thinner and easier for me to trim around. I do use a plastic smoother though. The other thing I do to keep things looking right is on the right hand side of the windows I draw an additional vertical level line since there is such a small amount at the bottom to use as a guide for the whole piece - yours turned out beautiful though!

    i'm considering a paper on Home Depot. It says it's .01 thickness. covers 30 sq ft for $35. Trying to gauge if it's
    paper density is good? Also, online it says vinyl material. do all wallpaper's list themselves like that? (i don't want
    grandma's ole vinyl wall paper!)
    Lastly, you didn't mention anything about wall finish. I happen to have walls that have hardly any texture.
    Never seen walls this flat before. thank you!

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 года назад +1

      Peel and stick Wallpaper is best for smooth walls. Pasted paper can handle a small amount of Texture though. I wouldn’t apply peel and stick to textured walls as it will show through and cause air bubbles.

    They are good but I am not convinced better than paste, with paste you can move it if you have placed wrong by sliding it left right up and down, believe me if you have made a small mistake this can be invaluable, you can also butter lines up real tight doing this. Still a neat idea if you have perfect walls and do not make a mistake I can see it being really good

    Well done. Other videos don't instruct to use a level or a chalk line to set the starting line. One suggestion: verify the starting wall level too. If it's off more than a quarter of an inch it might be best to measure from the point that would be farthest and use that as the start line mark so as to overlap the difference. Also, those outlets are actually called light switches. Lol!

      You could! I usually use a laser level if I have the space to set it up.

    You did great! When the roll came in did it have a # on it? I used to work in a home decore store and you wanted those codes to match or they may not match on the wall. Hopefully yours is fine. If you can find the #, I would ask for a roll from that batch if possible.

    I’m trying to figure out how to match seams on a solid blue wallpaper. I can’t find tips anywhere.

      Just overlap slightly if it’s peel and stick.

    Good job. How much wallpaper did it take?

      3 rolls! But it will depend on each wallpaper type as all rolls have different quantities.

    I'm enjoying your video. One small comment to be helpful is that the line that you used a level to make sure your 1st sheet is correct is called a plumb line. A level line is horizontal, and a plumb line is vertical.

    My first wallpaper application video and you nailed it! I’ve only one question! I’m wallpapering the wall at my bathroom vanity. There’s a tall skinny cabinet that stands on the counter and goes 18” short of the ceiling. Do I wallpaper above that first and then go left or right of it? Or start left and work my way right?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Год назад

      I’d start where you have the ability to see a plumb line. So maybe start to the right of it on the full wall and then fill in above the cabinet to the left.

    LOVE The options of Paper!! I wish I knew where I could physically visit & make a more informed decision. I’d love to visit the store to compare with others’ they may have at the physical store OR could work better in the space. We shall see.
    I’m dying to get at least oNe area completed (decorated) a bedroom, bathroom, office, anything. Or even if least where it technically “could be” It’s so rewarding once it’s all said & done…I’m trying to keep my eyes on the prize & budget. 🎉

    Excellent job. My wife bought some of this stuff and I hate it. One Moe wall and we’re done. Sadly it has the vanity, 6” away on one side, a real pain, lol

    Brilliant tutorial. Peel and stick wallpaper was bought by mistake from amazon. Can't be bothered sending it back, so I'm going to follow your instructions. I can paste and hang paper, so I'm thinking I should be able to do it.
    Thanks for the tutorial

    Peel and stick onto existing paper or tile backsplash

    What would you recommend for a 1st timer? Peel and stick or traditional. Seems like traditional provide more flexibility for corrections during installation.

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Год назад

      They both have some wiggle room for error. Peel and stick can peel back to be repositioned. Traditional more slides into place. Either option is doable, and typically whatever you start with is what you will find easiest just because of experience. I’d say find a pattern you like at a price you like and start there!

    Was the original wall you applied this to, textured?? I heard you can’t use this product on textured walls and I’m struggling applying this to my textured wall. Just wondering if I need to apply a thin sheet of particle board or something like that first.

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 года назад

      Mine are smooth drywall. Texture will show through peel and stick so adding a smooth layer is your best option.

    It is really an accent!! but could you have chosen an easier wall to paper. I have done my share of wall papering. And stripping it off. But that wall was a dussy. I do like the paper they have come out with. But I did use some on the shelves of my hutch. It reminded me of contact paper. Maybe that is the difference of the weight? Thanks Joyce
