I have watched literaly every single video of yours since the beginning of the pandemic. Never missed a single video. One thing I have been struggling with is ,When I go on a keto diet, everything is great except my sleep. I just can not sleep. I feel like my cortisol and stress hormones sky rocket at night before going to bed. What do you recommend? As soon as I have some carbs at night, I feel much much better, but than I do not want to go to bed on a full stomach loaded on carbs

everyone is quitting keto and carnivore.. This is crazy. Why does the body choose carbs as number one source of fuel? Why does the body choose to sleep at night? You are going against nature, or i should say you want to use the back up systems as main systems. This is not sustainable. Go plant based, just avoid modern wheat, processed foods and vegetable oils.

Whatever it is you are doing, clearly it seems to be working quite fabulosly and famously for you Thomas, and what more, you are getting noticed, being seen and being heard by a lot of others, so keep it up. In any field, the only way to help others is by leading the way yourself, and being a source of inspiration for them. You can only hope to inspire and to influence others to do the right thing by doing the right thing yourself first. There is no other way. You will have a huge number of followers, the vast majority of them showing only casual interest, a much smaller minority of them showing more than a casual interest and finally the smallest of minorities of them who are really serious. All of them are good.

insuline rersistance is measured by HOMA-IR and/or a glucose tolerance test.
HOMA-IR is relating fasting glucose to fasting insulin. Yet, if your body is metabolically flexible, you have to empty the glycogen stores with a workout after the first 6..8h, and continue fasting for a 2h total. Then take the blood to make the test.

Wear a CGM and you will definitely see when your glucose spikes after a meal. I believe 60-90 minutes is usually peak. I wait 45 minutes and exercise a little bit and it blunts a spike. Going for a brisk walk really helps if you can get outside.

While wearing a CGM I spiked my glucose with honey and came down within 45 mins. Still around the low 100’s. I went for a walk and it had no effect; why?

He said it was what your blood glucose is 2 hours after you eat (post-prandial reading). Check BG before you eat, BG will spike, insulin is released, causing spike to decrease to pre-meal BG number at abouoccurring. If you're not IR. If it stays elevated, then insulin resistance may be occuring.

I understand that some of your audience is struggling and you don't wanna growl them away, yet I don't agree. Any glucose going higherr than 140 and/or not coming down to less than 120 after 1..2h is not healthy , either the body can not handle it, or the intake of glycemic potential is too large. Means to adjust: less carbs, lower glycemic carbs, proteine first, no free sugar at all, also no honey, TRF 15.9 regula and 18:6 once a week, apple cider vinegar / lemon water with each meal, berberine 1h before the meal, walk after the meal.
To say that glucose spikes matter only in case of an insulin esistance is "literally" BS.

@@leeyokum i was pre-diabetic and now at around 15% bodyfat. If I was diabetic, I’d take my insulin and eat at a calorie deficit to cure diabetes/obesity. Good luck maintaining a calorie deficit when you’re restricting a bit of sugar on oatmeal, or not eating white rice along with your steak, or forcing yourself to eat fiber and vegetables when you don’t really want to. Everything else is a scapegoat to distract you from the real solution: get in a calorie deficit and lose the weight.

@LouDez correct. We know this true because type 1 diabetics (people who can't produce insulin can still get fat on the same insulin dosage if they add too many fats to their diet. Protein and carbs require insulin for your body to use them but fats don't. Hence keeping your insulin and carbs the same but increasing fats WILL make a type 1 diabetic fatter. Don't listen to this if you have diabetes and you value your health, your limbs, your eyesight and your life. Go and watch a channel called Mastering Diabetes that is run by a doctor who actually has diabetes, and has it perfectly managed by eating less than 15% fat by calorie. He eats as much fruit as he wants and his HbA1C remains steady and within healthy range. Consequently, he has plenty of energy for exercise. What would Thomas DeLaur know? Is he a doctor?
