Congratulations!
It's partially wrong, but if he enjoys that stuff good on him I guess.
Come Clarity is my no.1 but I like that you like different albums to most. That's what it's all about, personal taste and people being different makes it interesting. I like a lot of albums that don't come high up in band rankings so I know where you're coming from.
Great ranking Questy.....i really love A Sense of Purpose too...underrated album....a lil bummed by colony's placin but i still love u
A wild shane appears
@@Questformetal 😉
We need a Hypocrisy album ranking.
I second this! Although I'll flip out if Catch 22 isn't at the bottom where it belongs lol
I third this!
I like watching rankings on bands I know nothing about, it gives me a good start on how to get into a certain band
1:25 Common Questy W. The End is such an earworm and most criticism of it boils down to "It doesn't sound like a band named In Flames".
Thanks for the tips. My favorites are Subterranean and Jester Race, but almost all albums are great 👍
Alriiiiiiiiight! FINALLY, a person that loves the newer In Flames stuff! My favourite is Sounds of a Playground Fading, primarily because of the teenage nostalgia I have attached to it.
1. Subterranean - it's so underrated!!!! Stand Ablaze and Everdying and Biosphere are so good! Got that pinch of black metal which makes melodeath a 100 times better. Very overlooked
It does! And fun fact, Dead Eternity has Jocke Göthberg (Joakim av Gravf) as the guest vocalist; he's the vocalist on Marduk's Those of the Unlight and Opus Nocturne.
Love this, SOTPF is a massively underrated album and doesn’t deserve the hate, my entry to Inflames was come clarity so that’s always been up there for me, and the new album is killer.
1. Lunar Strain Subterranean
2. Whoracle
3. Jester Race Black Ash
4. Clayman
5. Foregone (Yep this New album brought me Back to listen to in Flames)
Must be an age thing. The Lorna Shore vocalist said Sense of Purpose was his favorite too. I'm 41 and can't even comprehend even putting Sense of Purpose in their top 5 albums.
I'm 32 and I got into In Flames with Come Clarity, Reroute and then immediately began listening to their old stuff, which is better. I enjoy a Sense of Purpose well enough, but it's nowhere near their old stuff.
I agree with some placements here. Especially the bottom two. Siren Charms is just not listenable in my opinion. A Sense of Purpose is definitely an interesting choice for #1 but I can respect it. That album does deserve more love. The Jester Race will probably always be my favorite. I think Foregone is the best thing they’ve done in years.
I usually agree with your ranking, so I do understand putting A Sense of Purpose in 1st, tho I wouldnt go that far to say it's my favourite album, but yeah, for once my opinion was quite different from yours and that's interesting to watch!
I've discussed a lot with friends about my ranking and mine would be:

Questy please go play The Jester Race loud as fuck out of your speakers and remember why it was one of your favourite albums of all time, one of the only albums I've heard where every single song makes me want to headbang like crazy. Sense of purpose is great don't get me wrong but Jester Race is such a classic, in my top 10 albums of all time since the very first time I heard it.
Of course it's your opinion I'm just in shock right now ok!
haha Its still one of my all time favourite albums I relistened to everything before the video
When it comes to In Flames im old-school. I want meaty guitars, catchy riffs, melodies and aggression. Colony is my favourite but Jester Race is a close second. I checked out after Reroute and Forgone is their first album I enjoyed all the way through since Clayman.

I’d like to see a Carach Angren album ranking they are one of my favorite black metal bands
The only In Flames Album's I don't care for are Siren Charms and Battles . I like everything else from them

1. Clayman
Here's a long story, I started liking them a little bit in 2000, liked the stuff I heard off and on for years. I always liked, Them. Liked the older stuff much for years, soundtrack was the only poppy one I liked for while especially evil in a closet and touch of red. Gonna send rest of it in another message to space it out.
Well, that's a unique take on In Flames, I'll give you that! I can't say I agree with all you said, but on some aspects I do. I don't hate mid-era In Flames (which I consider as Reroute to A Sense of Purpose) as others do, so I can see some merit to this ranking, except the top spot.
My ranking:
1) Whoracle - their absolute pinnacle, TJR is excellent but this is my favorite.
2) The Jester Race - a melodic death metal masterpiece (Black Ash inheritance also fits here, beautiful little EP)
3) Colony - the quintessential classic In Flames sound, very well done.
4) Lunar Strain - a rawer, more in your face sound that resembles Dark Tranquillity's Skydancer and Gallery a bit more than it does other In Flames. Love it. Subterranean is also here.
5) Clayman - an excellent album, and their last album that I'd call near perfect. Small signs of the decline creep into this one.
6) Reroute to Remain - a good album, despite the significant change in sound that isn't for the best.
7) Come Clarity - a slight return to form after the pretty weak Soundtrack to your Escape.
8) A Sense of Purpose - a pretty good and catchy album. I can't put it anywhere near the top spot due to the significant deviation from their classic sound, but I enjoy this. Their last album before the decline was truly terminal.
9) Soundtrack to Your Escape - I used to defend this, but the metalcore sound is a bit too grating on most songs. I barely listen to it anymore.
10) Foregone - something of a return to form, it's the most listenable album they've made in 15 years.
* fifty feet of shit *
11-14) Everything else here is utterly worthless to me, be it Battles, Mask, Playground or Siren. This is alt rock In Flames and it's goddamn unlistenable.
I first saw In Flames around Come Clairty era supporting Motorhead and I hated every second of it as I only liked classic heavy metal at that time. A Sense of Purpose came out around the time I started to get inti melodic death metal. Now In Flames are one of my favrioute bands. I love every album except Siren Charms and Battles they are okay. New album is a banger. The classic run from Jester Race to Clayman is honestly up there with the greats like Sabbath,Maiden,Priest, and Death
10:00 Why not the Clayman remaster? Which elements are worse or better in the remaster? I think sometimes great music from the past does deserve fresh production work, but totally get that there is a nostalgic feeling to hearing the original recordings.
1. Reroute (seriously)
2. Whoracle ( these two albums are perfect albums)
3. Jester Race
4. Come Clarity
5. Colony
6. Clayman
7. Foregone
8. I the mask
9. Lunar Strain
10. Soundtrack
11. Purpose
12. Playground

Very unpopular opinion, Come Clarity is my favourite album by them, don’t care what anyone says 🔥
The latest one was a banger
Maybe an Obituary reranking??

Our rankings are definately different😅
But I'll agree 100% regarding one thing:
This is our house is absolutely worst (and the ONLY bad one!) of all In Flames songs. I felt an urge to put superglue in my ears the first time I heard it😆
Truly aweful.
I also have to say that I'm glad that you gave Sounds of a playground fading, some love👌
I've never understood all the hatred for that record. It's actually very high up on my list, and I definately consider it the most underrated of all their albums!
P.s Clayman is the best. Period. 😉
14) Siren's Charm
13) Battles

Today's the 27th anniversary of TJR so i don't know if you dropping this video today was intentional or just pure casualty. Either way, great stuff!
There are some people who have your top 3 below forgone and Reroute. There is no way in hell your top 3 is worse than forgone. Check these comments bro. They are goofy af
@@vadoksam9235 People who worship new In Flames are weird, but to each their own.
1st Album I bought from IF was Soundtrack To Your Escape. I still prefer Come Clarity more than STYE. Sense Of Purpose was pretty OK album tho, but after that I just stopped listening their albums.
Anyways, I still think that their melodeath- era is their best. Colony, Whoracle and Clayman will never get old❤️👌
Im not a big fan of their pop-metal stuff so i wont bother with their whole discography.
1. The jester race
2. Whoracle
3. Colony
4.Lunar strain
5.Clayman
Those are the essentials! I enjoy mid-era stuff like Reroute and CC too, but not as much as those 5

This is just wrong. Sounds of a Playground Fading and Battles are shit, can't rank that crap above Whoracle, TJR, Colony, or Lunar Strain.
@@Transilvanian90 No offense, but I'm a fan of their 2000s and later albums. We each have different preferences, it's all subjective.

I agree with you between 7:12 and 12:03. I think the last album is great, mostly because Anders gave up on "whiny" vocals. Some of the albums listed at the front is full of them, I can't stand it.
At first i thought you were just going to echo the rankings at Metal Storm (i should have known better) but then you went waaay off the rails. Off the rails is good, but you drive the train into into a lava pit. :p
I came in with Whoracle.. so the Whoracle/Colony/Clayman was my era, and i did like Trigger from Reroute to Remain. After that? I gave up on them. Soundscape to your Escape wasn't good, and it just got worse from there. After Sounds of a Playground Fading i stopped even checking out their albums.. until Foregone, which has sparks of hope for them. I dunno if you really believe in your #1, or you just like trolling us (or both), but you sir, at times have some twisted taste.
Monsters in the ballroom is on Siren charms. Just saying
My rank kinda piss off a lot of my friends but i dont care. I love CC so many great songs in it.
Colony 9/10
Come Clarity 9/10
The Jester Race 9/10
Whoracle 8/10
Clayman 8/10
Reroute to Remain 7/10
Foregone 7/10
Lunar Strain 7/10
Soundtrack to your Escape 6,5/10
I, the Mask 6/10
Sounds of a Playground Fading 6/10
A Sense of Purpose 6/10
Battles 5/10
Siren Charms 4/10
My personal top 4, best to "worst", I loved them all:
1. The Jester Race
2. Whoracle
3. Lunar Strain (overlooked as hell)
4. Colony
After that point I got off the In Flames train...as they've progressively became worse and worse from the year 2000 on...IMO.
Clayman is still very enjoyable
Well idon't know my ranking but iknow my top albums that are Forgone, Sound of a playground and Clayman.
and my least favorites are lunar strain and sirens charms.
And this list have changed alot since this comment for 7 mins
I was kinda just waiting for u to mention "alias". Its my least fav song by in flames. And its for pretty petty reasons. That song and the album as a whole ive always disliked since its release. I grew up with the older stuff but thats not why. Its bc every single person i knew that loved that album back then were complete insufferable douchbags. They did nothing but talk about it, they never heard in flames untill it and they gave people shit over it. And they were always just disrespectful bad vibes people. Just my experience. I do really like the mirrors truth tho. My fav albums are Jester race and Whoracle.
1. Jester Race
2. Colony
3. Lunar Strain
4. Clayman
5. Whoracle
6-14 no thanks.....few good songs but the clean vocals are not my cup of tea at least for this band.
Come Clarity was my first In Flames album and still my number one , with Take This Life, my best tune.
I'm glad that SoaPF is getting more love, I think it gets a lot of undeserved hate. Come Clarity is my favourite modern In Flames album while Colony the best one overall.

An unusual ranking, but better to be a contrarian than an elitist!
A Sense of Purpose is incredible from beginning to end. Which hurts, because Soundtrack to Your Escape is my #2. Oh well : ' )
UNSUBBED!All jokes aside, Lunar Strain is probably #1 for me.
Lunar Strain is such an underrated masterpiece, as is its companion EP, Subterranean.
Soundtrack and Siren Charms for number 1 & 2.
Lmao fuck no
