The Line - Neon Genesis Evangelion AMV

Shinji's scream in End of Evangelion has haunted me for years now, so I wanted to make an AMV that depicts the anxiety and doom that piloting the EVA brings to our protagonist pilot. It started as my own little project where I wanted to use all my favorite imagery from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
It was part of Desucon 2024 AMV contest and I am incredibly happy by the response it got: it won 2nd place and audience choice awards. Thank you everyone for your kind comments and I'm glad you enjoy NGE as much as I do!

this was mine and my friend’s favorite of this year’s contestants. just amazing work! gave me the chills, especially shinji’s scream was a cherry on top. congrats on the win ❤ it was defintely deserved. out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to make this amv?

Thank you so much, glad to hear you enjoyed it! My recent AMV's take around 50-100 hours, I make a lot of revisions to make sure the storytelling works the way I want. Especially the first half in this video went through multiple changes where I scrapped everything and then there's effects and so on to work on. So they are long projects but I love editing series that are near and dear to me!

Huhhuh! Uskomattoman hyvä video, helposti paras Evangelion AMV mihin oon koskaan törmännyt. Björkin normeista poikkeava ja epämukava, hetkellisesti jopa psykoottinen äänimaailma sopii täydellisesti ja lyyrisestikin kappale istuu tähän kuin nakutettu. Tästä koko videosta tulee kokonaisuutena vähän tukala ja kiusallinen olo, ja itellä ainakin tuli kylmät väreet kun päästit Shinjin huudon läpi musiikista. Tosi hyvin mietitty filmitaide kanssa, noi tekstit on tarkasti aseteltu ja kehystää tai vahvistaa ruudulla olevaa kuvaa eikä vie pois siitä, ja simppeli fontin vaihdos tai värin muunto punaiseksi toimi biisin perkussion kanssa tosi tehokkaasti.
Oli ihan mahtavaa nähdä tää siellä conin hallissa isolla äänisysteemillä pimeässä huoneessa!
