How to service air chamber on Fox Float RP23. All you need is original service/seals kit. Don't forget to subscribe, rate and comment. More at bikebook.si
You folks crying about this music in the vid don't have a mute button? This is about shock maintenance, it's not a music forum. Let's keep things on task.
+Luke Kelly I know exactly what you mean! I couldn't hear any voice so I made up voices in my head in a language that I couldn't understand. Does this mean I'm going to hell?
Some guy takes the time to do this video and the majority of the comments are negative? If you want to use plastic tools then use them! Watch THE SRAM videos they use metal tools as well. They explain 1 scratch and your buying this or that part but bottom line they are using metal!
I do not like the idea of disassembling the washers and gaskets with a metall screwdriver; risk for scratching the piston seems high. Wouldn't it be better to use plastic-tools for that?
There is oring supporting a thin disk on the inner piston. what is the disc for ? What happen if the oring broke down. is it important? and i should take it to the shop, or can i ride and fix it next time?
Thanks for the video pal, saw what I wanted to see. But I have to give you 1/10 and 1/10 for manual dexterity and common sense respectively. You made it look so much more difficult than it actually is, my head hurts.
Pretty sure you missed two important and easy steps. 1/2 of that oil pouch goes INTO the black cylinder that you slide onto the shaft, but prior to the wiper on the shaft itself. That's one sealed system. Then you add the remaining half where you put just a few drops in your video... Also this service is identical to the RP2 service video, and there's better videos out there.
my bike is a 2013 model and it's just stock at home because my rear suspension is no longer loaded with air. what is the possible reason and what needs to be done to fix my rear suspension. Thank you, I hope you can help me with my problem. my suspension is fox rp23 boost valve. 160
mine had so much negative pressure that the thing made a LOUD pop sound right in my face. all of the o rings and retainers popped out of place while it was still together. it refused to take air after going a few times to a downhill mtb park. i thought i blew a seal, but i guess i just hit it so hard that the air just farted out and gave it some negative pressure. careful for that..
Then you should have been more specific. There's also an DHX 5.0 air - look it up. I've just serviced one, same procedure. Of course, coil would not be the same.
+Jeff ‘JeffM96’ M You mean the O-rings? I think he used a drawing compass, but if you're not replacing the rings/seals with new ones, don't use them as you'd damage them
no it's not, this isn't even a coil damper, this is air damper. the DHX 5.0 is coil, nitrogen and oil damper all in one. it might have some similar components but i'm pretty sure it's not the same as this.
I know there is a lot of criticism here already but Ihave to say it. Don't put leverage on the air valve when opening the can or it will start leaking air there. Trust me. I know.
lol. i didn't know there was a DHX 5.0 air damper, i thought there was only one DHX 5.0 damper (the coil oil nitrogen suspension). well shit happens ;p
good camera angle, beyond that....... the music was seriously painful. the hand/tool coordination (shaky hands) thing was even more agonizing hopefully just stage fright
+Dan Henderson Exactly!! I've had my shock for two years, and only add oil. I'll replace the seals ones it doesn't hold air. If it ain't broke don't fix it
Take it apart and just clean it just like in the video without removing any of the seal . Notice towards the end of the video before screwing the shock cylinder back he adds a few drops of Fox Float oil, I add about 12 drops. That's it!!
By far the cleanest hands in the world of bike mechanics
Spring season has officially started in the northern hemisphere, and it's time to service my RP23 as well, thanks for sharing this!
nice, but THIS MUSIC IS SOOO ANNOYING!!!
You folks crying about this music in the vid don't have a mute button? This is about shock maintenance, it's not a music forum. Let's keep things on task.
Garrett Allen I have pressed mute button after watching 2 mins of this video, but this freaking music still plays in my head for the entire video
+Luke Kelly I know exactly what you mean! I couldn't hear any voice so I made up voices in my head in a language that I couldn't understand. Does this mean I'm going to hell?
awesome vid .......saved me £40 and it only took 10 mins easy peasy.......
Thanks . What I’m looking for
Great video! But how did the fluid not come out when you turned it upside down to screw on the can??
Great video, thank you. Where can I get a DU bushing for a Fox Float RP23?
Thank you very much for this video! Its very useful!
If possible could you make a tutorial for FOX FLOAT 36 fork please!

wood or plastic are much better.
If you're not an idiot, there shouldn't be a problem.
There is oring supporting a thin disk on the inner piston.
what is the disc for ?
What happen if the oring broke down. is it important? and i should take it to the shop, or can i ride and fix it next time?
hi, any video of how to assemble the bockage system? the red wheel is very difficult to fully insert, any clue?? thanks!!
Add text, remove music.
Or even talk so people know what the fuck he's doing at each step.
duh turn it down
Will the service kit for this shock work on fox triad( on specialized stumpjumper 2013) ?
Thanks for the video pal, saw what I wanted to see. But I have to give you 1/10 and 1/10 for manual dexterity and common sense respectively. You made it look so much more difficult than it actually is, my head hurts.
merci
top !

Don’t suppose you know why my evol fox shock chirps after a service - like a squeak sound but more chirp when depressing the shock
what kind of oil should be poured into the reservoir original fox?
Can you decrease the travel on these shock ?

Any idea how to fix a propedal lever? it won't stay in place.

hey very good video !!
can you also do a tutorial on a Fox DHX 5.0 ?
cheers ;)
Hallo. Super Video. Was muss ich machen, wenn der Dämpfer in allen drei Stufen federt? Ich kann den Dämpfer nicht blockieten. Please help.!
How do I service the nitrogen portion with air instead?
what eyelet on shock?
Y el aceite? O es como NO hacer un mantenimiento al amortiguador?
What’s the rubber band that’s placed on the end called that shows you how much travel is used etc ?
Sag indicator ring.
Its the same for DHX 5.0
Then you should have been more specific. There's also an DHX 5.0 air - look it up. I've just serviced one, same procedure.

La desvarate y ahora no sé cómo armarla saludos desde Colombia
does it take any oil
half the oil in the shock body too
what is the name of the tool that was used to pop out the washers? thanks.

Air chamber ok. But you does not touch the shock...
до 1.40 больно смотреть, просто боль, рыдать хочется и выпрыгнуть с 9го этажа ...
Почему?

So I ain't touching it.

+jose castillo Sorry, how you just adding oil?
Take it apart and just clean it just like in the video without removing any of the seal . Notice towards the end of the video before screwing the shock cylinder back he adds a few drops of Fox Float oil, I add about 12 drops. That's it!!
+jose castillo Do i need to pump some air at the end??
Thanks!
Yes, Once it's reassembled then pump it to the PSI you run it with.
