I would have to say that is horrible! I run 492 miles on a 30 Gallon tank and still have 5 gallons of gas in the tank when I fill up. Tank is 30 Gallon in truck. I drive 64 Miles round trip 5 days a week in Interstate Traffic. Total mileage per week for work is 320 Miles but then Saturday and Sunday drive the Wife around to various places. Total on Sunday at Fill up is over 400 Miles. Usually I get 16 - 19 MPG on the Truck.
I have a stock LQ9 6.0 in a 2003 extended cab z71... 285/ 75/16's, 3.73 gears, 4L60E, efans, leveling kit... I've seen 9 mpg city rompin around but it usually gets 13 mpg city. 17 mpg on the Interstate driving the speed limit, 15 mpg Interstate driving hard... but it's a joy to drive!
Yup LA gas prices is killer I’m here near downtown LA lowest you’ll pay is 3.50 per gallon got a 5.3 every week I put about 100 that’s 400 a month maybe 450 if I drive weekends more than usual
My Sierra gets 14.2 MPG and it’s a stock 5.3 with 265/70/17 tires. so 13.2 is pretty good. I wouldn’t overfill the tank like that. It’ll mess up the evap system
Coulda saved a bit of money on some used 243s. Basically the same valves. But the 2.5s are new and cleaned well. I just can justify that much on staying the same size head for me. Could put that money towards a rear end
Winter time I get roughly 10-16 mpg depends on running time. Summer average 22-23 mix in town I'd say around 16-17 on highway I get depending on hills and all that 23-26.5
Whoa! Count me out, looks like I'll stay with the bolt-ons. I get ~18 mpg out of my 04 5.3 Sierra 4x4. How much was lost with the tune? Can you run a economy map?
I'm getting a little over 12 .5 and my lq4 6.0 in my Chevy 2500 4 wheel drive with a nice cam headers an exhaust upgrade, with a decent tune 4l80 transmission and 3.73 on 265 75 r16 tires
@@btgperformance9234oh I figured it was since you had it tuned. 13.5 isn't bad for a cammed 5.3. are you gonna get it re-tuned once you get the new intake installed?

Nike Pro Elite old school trick. Allways works out that way. More efficient heads & cam will be more efficient even though it's giving more gas to the engine takes less work for engine to get to speed.
dang! i was getting 7.5 mpg on 35 12.50 switched to 4:56 gears now i get 10.5 mpg my set up is 6" RC lift 3" body had 35 12.50 20 with 20x12 -44 now same tires but 20x10 -24 ive got an 04 so its the older 5.3 what do you get with your normal set up now?
Hey bro! It's best to not run a vehicle with electric pumps in the tank too low. The fuel is what helps keep pump cool. I've changed many out on vehicles that were run low a lot. I try to not go below a 1/4 tank myself. Thx for the channel and keep it up! 👍
Yup... I put three fuel pumps in an S10 over the years. It worked out where I could just barely drive all week on a tank of gas... so every Friday I ran it on fumes... after I finally learned my lesson with it, my Silverado went 290000 miles on the original fuel pump not running it below 1/4 tank...
I get 20.3 mpg out of my 07 classic Silverado 5.3 4wd
No you don’t 😂
@@btgperformance9234 I know it amazes me too, I could send you a picture of my cluster

What octane gas are you supposed to use on a 5.3 stage 2 cam engine?
im getting better than this on 2500hd with 6.0 with modified tune and exhaust hoping to get better with a good cam
I get really bad mileage after my cam swap but I also love the sound and power so I have trouble keeping my foot off the pedal lol
The Dirtdigger what kinda mileage you get on a full tank ?
You got to tune the engine
@@Elijah450r honestly im not sure. I dont keep track

Bruhh that’s bad something wrong. You need spark plugs, synthetic oil, and air filter.
I know this old video but what kind gas u put on cam truck regular
my stock 2011 z71 is averaging 14.1 mpg
So once you add the intake and throttle body do you think that will improve your MPG?
