Best video for a cam swap by far. I looked through 50 different videos and they were all missing steps here or there. I'm glad I found one that didn't require removing the oil pan to get the oil pump off. Nice job!

Amazing video bro. My 04 Avalanche just started tapping on the top end driver side so I’m already planning a cam swap and mild refresh. I have some mechanical experience but none with swapping a cam. Video was super easy to follow and gives me confidence to tackle this. Appreciate you dawg 🙏🏾
Good video, only thing you forgot to Mention/Do do was to leave the front cover bolts loose/hand tight while installing harmonic balancer to align the front cover seal with the balancer. Forget this step you might be looking at a front crank seal leak very soon. Easy to do, no reason not to do it!
that back bold is super easy the only hack i did was one simple .... body lift lol i have a 2 inch body lift everything is way easy headers intake man covers more space at the firwall even when i did trans rebuild the top bolds were supper easy to get to
Friday I'm putting a stage 1 cam in my truck; well I'm paiying a guy to do it for me. I like the work you do!! I subscribed to your videos; I ca n't wait to watch the next one!
I ask a mechanic to see how much he would charge for the job he told me that the heads need to be remove to install the cams 09 sierra 4.8 its that true. Thank you for the info...
My put a new motor new ones I need to haters and a muffler to sounds. I like this truck better I need new new motor. I need a new size of the truck tires. You have any black grown tires black this truck and fit me and I like this truck better, you’re fixing it once the new one I need a new one, the black, the black top all black the hood under open the black 6:48
Question... What do you get by doing that? More speed... More power....less gas consumption.... etc..? Let me know please I have a 2005 silverado crew cab 5.3
Love this video! Just loved how he said you'd have to twist and pull at the same time to remove camshaft, cuts into clip of him easily pulling it out without spinning it. HAHA! Let's pray mine comes out this easy Amazing video with AMAZING tips!
I have a 4.8 LS silverado 1500 2012 My lifters and cam took a shit. Im replacing everything, from camshaft to lifters to new oil pump high volume. I bought the regular Standard GM camshaft. Will I still be able to notice some more horsepower? Not that I'm racing my truck or anything. Just want to know if I will feel a difference.
So you can do a 4l80 trans on a 4.8l ?!?!?! Any mods ? And can you tell me the full info on the cam swap package pls ! I also have a 4.8l with low miles 04 Sierra and would like to get the same done to it , thank you in advance
Nice Vid. I gott a 07 Yukon Denali XL and Nice to know it doesnt matter if I have single Bolt Cam or 3 Bolt Cam cause it will come with the new Bracket anyways. My lifter #7 roller broke in the motor, and tryna decide if I should just replace the 1 lifter or buy another motor. I have 250k on the Denali.
Glad to be of help and at that point you might end up finding a lower mile engine for a swap at a good price just thinking of the bottom end with that mileage
@@proyectosloscarnales4512 i made a RUclips video on how to take out a stuck lifter if you watchb it i zoom up inside the lifter hole and it is all messed up in that hole. Would have to go to a machine shop, but f it why when I can just get another 6.2 and keep it moving

This has to be one of the best step by step video on how to cam swap a motor.
I was kind of intimidated about doing it myself but you made it simple thanks .

Very well put . Was much informative. Can't wait to do my 04' 5.3 vortec LS Silverado.
I like hearing the rain Crow in the background.
Very nice video, answered a couple of concerns I had. My 2008 is AFM but the process is much the same. Thanks for sharing your mechanical expertise 👍

Labor is about 1500-2500 depending where you live. Takes 3 days tops to do this job. Longer if you take the heads off for whatever reason.

Supposed to loosen spark plug by hand (ratchet) then using a power tool to get it of
So you won’t damage the treads
You didn’t remove lifters,,,??? How do they not fall when cam is out?
