The xbox series s may not be a big power house console like the series x or ps5 but for it being a less powerful version it absolutely delivers, I don't regret buying this console 😌👌🏽💯
@osococky617 It depends! In my opinion the xbox series s is a fun & good console to have especially for its price under $300 & with its gamepass subscription
It’s basically the black one without a disk drive. If you have a digital library or game pass it’s absolutely worth it. The storage is limited but I got one of the storage cards for 1.5 Tb total. Ultimately I ended up paying close to $500 for the console and storage card. It’s the ultimate travel Xbox.
@atleastimtrying5391 Absolutely 💯 I bought a 2tb harddrive for the storage, my game library still needs filling Lol But the gamepass has some great classics & current games to choose from 😌👌🏽
I got a S a I can carry around with me on my travels to play arcade retro, next gen ,and past XB/360/One games and the S does it perfectly for price, convenience as well as allowing me access to Netflix, Prime and other media apps. When not travelling around it sits in my bedroom. A perfect console for me.
I was thinking about that. I currently have an X but I can't throw that into my luggage for it's massive size . Would you consider this a massive downgrade if I get an S . ?
I just bought the series s to play Warzone and I have to say I'm impressed with the performance. I own a gaming PC but I felt like Warzone is optimized or prioritized for consoles and I wasn't wrong because it is. I quickly felt the difference. I been playing on PC for about 2 years at 1440 about 150 FPS and even though my monitor can't play 120hz via the console It took me a few gaming sessions to go back to 60fps and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The only thing I'm not completely happy with is the controller, there's an obvious lag (minimal) but I used my wired controller today and it's way better. Again. Coming from playing 1440 at 150 FPS Average on PC and back to 60hz it's not bad at all. I'm enjoying this console and you can't beat the price.
Great to hear that you enjoy it! Also correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure the Series S can play Warzone at 120fps you just got to go into the settings and change the resolution from 4k to 1080p and then the refresh rate to 120hz if of course your monitor supports a high refresh rate.
Just bought the Series S two days ago and so far it’s been great. I also have a PS5 and Switch Oled, wouldn’t consider myself a gamer but this console is a keeper!
Just got mine this past Christmas. Been slowly buying digital games over past 2 years . I wait till a great sale comes up . As for ray tracing I could care less. Some tvs .like tcl brand support 1440p youngest have to change settingon the xbox and it will recognize if your tv supports certain resolution. It's won't support HDR unless only 4k uhd not sure why but that's just how the console is designed until does an update Great console got mine so I could play next gen games
Dude it's awesome for emulation, anything from Wii and under. I have 2 portable 5tb hooked up on it. One for all my old digital xbox 360 & xbox 1 games, the other has over 3tb of emulated games, over 1tb of movies scraped with Kodi, so even if internet isn't working I can still be entertained.
I bought a used one on Amazon and I’m very impressed. I just want to play madden and the occasional simulation game. I have game pass and have tried out a few games using the cloud and I’m very happy I went with this instead of buying a X series or PS5 on a whim just bc I wanted a console.

In 2023 the Series S is hanging on but we are still in cross Gen territory which the console does great playing Xbox one games and good to ok in the cross gen Titles and not so good in current gen only titles with no Ray tracing or 120frs support and the few titles that do support it its falling short. The fact of the matter is your talking about a 4 teraflop gaming unit with less video memory and GPU power then a One X which dont just matter for resolution but also with textures and thats going to be very important for new current gen titles coming. The Xbox One and PS4 was said to be holding developers back on cross gen titles I see the Series S holding developers back on these current gen consoles with rumors already taking place on this very subject and i definitely see that being a issue then and now with the Series S.

And yes the Xbox One X does have a more powerful GPU but the Series S has a more powerful CPU which allows it to have higher frame rates. For me personally I prioritize frames over graphics. Put my head close to my Series S and it makes a propeller like noise as well, I don't think this is an issue. it's just noise coming from the spinning fan.
Good review everyone says xbox 🎮 still uses batteries I think why they do it so u can get what batteries u want regular or charging kind. Ps4 batteries suck… Im thinking 🤔 of going back to xbox 🎮
Yeah, I don't think the battery issue is really that big of a deal as you can get the rechargeable packs for them fairly cheap. Also, lithium-ion batteries degrade over time so they won't last as long as they would have when they're new so being able to swap it out for a new rechargeable pack is another positive in my opinion. Happy Gaming!
I don't get why people think Xbox Series S is an ideal Game Pass machine. Because it isn't because the point of having all those video games available via subscription. Is to have a large library of games downloadable to the user. Xbox Series S doesn't come as standard with anywhere near enough useable internal SSD useable capacity for this purpose. Surely the point of the Xbox Series S was to have a ninth generation console to a tight price point. Which it does admirably and will appeal to those who want just play video games. Without having to buy into a brand new 4K TV to get the best out of a video games console.Which would have been the case if I had bought an Xbox Series X instead. I bought an Xbox Series S because of the low price at the time £189.99. And bought additional storage in an external 1TB SSD. I don't subscribe to Game Pass. I instead buy all video games that I am interested in after looking at reviews and videos of them. Also Microsoft Store seems to have deals on video games very often. So I save money buying only when video games are on sale in the Microsoft Store. For me playing at 1080p is fine as I have no need to buy into 4K anytime soon. For me 4K can definitely wait because I don't actually need it just to play video games and watch films. I personally still buy DVDS even in 2023 and own three DVD players.
Thats what's great about the Series S is that you have the ability to purchase games if you want, and if you want access to over 100 games right out of the box there's Game Pass for that. This is great for someone who is new to Xbox and doesn't have a library of games to play yet. Also, I do agree that 1080p is a fine resolution and I don't mind it at all. It's pretty cool that you buy DVDs still, I'd imagine you have a big collection.
@@faristriesgamingtech Yes I have a fairly large collection of films on DVD. I still buy new DVD films into 2023, because the resolution is good enough for my own need. And the DVD format has a vast amount of films available and at very reasonable prices. Also DVD players themselves can be bought inexpensively and are readily available. And are still a good choice if you only watch on a 1080p TV as I do.
I think it is an ideal Game Pass machine as long as you are good at managing your storage and have some patience. For me it's been great because I can do both.
