Before Macross, there was Daikengo.This was animated the same people who did Macross years later.

I loved listening to this song since I first heard it years ago.
Probably the one thing peeps remember about _Daikengo_ is that aside from singing the OP, this show was also Micchi's first foray into voice acting
Which is a pity because, at least from what I saw of the first couple episodes, it was a legit really cool super robot show that had a very unique feel for the time. More's the pity.
