- Before flying the Do 335 B-2, I was not a huge fan of the Do 335 design. After winning this bad boy in a rookie trophy, I decided to take it for a spin in CAS, air RB, AND air AB, because why not. I have never had so much success so quickly and so often with any premium, outside of the B1 Ter, as I have with the Do 335 B-2. This plane can do it all, except for out turn planes and, when you can't do that, you can outrun them. Truly a powerful plane in the right hands.

There is another almost better German CAS the the aptly names Eagle Owl He 219. Ignore the radar it’s a horrible interceptor. It opens cans really well though.
I do love the Do335. It takes some getting used to. In Ground RB, you spawn in going about 300 MPH, so if you are going to ground pound, you need to cut the throttle immediately unless you have a ways to go to get to the front lines. This thing compresses bad at high speed, especially with the bomb load, and you may not pull out of a dive in time. It is insanely fast, but probably should be faster and accelerate quicker. It is definitely a boom and zoomer, because it is a pig in a turn fight. The guns just shred the engine decks and turret tops.
I like Me 410 B-6 more.....it has "only" 2x mk103, but its more manevrauble, its free and you have back gunner as bonus.
Pro tip: the mobility cost/risk of carrying bombs isn’t worth the extra ground pounding capability. The cannons with the AP are fine.
just drop the bomb at the first target you see and you get your mobility back.
@@WoofyMcDoodle There is literally no need when you have the 30mms. Whenever I take bombs I usually end up either damaging myself as demonstrated in the video or getting killed by AA or other aircraft because I’m much more sluggish. If the 30mms can easily take out IS-2s, why would you bother with bombs?
I guess it depends on your preferred play style. I always take bombs out on fighters and they often come in handy. Great for if you have a cluster of enemies, or a target that's tough to crack, or even getting an enemy off your tail. If you need the extra mobility in a pinch you can just ditch them anyway.
@@Chad_Thundernuts If it were a P-47 I’d definitely take bombs. But it’s a DO-335 and the maneuverability is already not great. With bombs it’s got the flight characteristics of a B-25.
But was it worth the GE lol also I would recommend the Dora premium if you like air rb/ab more its such a fun plane
I'd recommend using weapon selection. This way I can bring air target belts for the 20mms and HVAP for the 30mms and use them independently. It saves ammo for both of them. Also, don't be afraid to spray a bit with the 30mms. You're rarely going to one shot a tank unless you get a magical hit on the ammo. You have enough ammunition to do this and the fire rate is good enough to get a good rain of shells on the enemy.

Yeah, I went to the Air and Space museum. When I went to DC like 10+ years ago, I wasn't as knowledgeable, and confused the two, which is why I'm confused to this day, even though I know the difference, haha

They are, but in their own way. The B-2 is a great CAS plane first, and good interceptor second. Personally, I prefer the B-2 over the other models, even considering BR. The other ones never really agreed with me

It would be good if it has'nt that broken flight model , it is always drifting weird through the air . Same on the FW190 sometimes and Ta models , I hate that . Me410 flys way more stable , why they don't fix this ? And it should be way faster with 2 engines and up to 4000hp , but that's what gaijin calls balance .
You do you, of course. But I prefer to survive and not get kills. I suppose I’m telling myself it’s a little more milsim and a little less arcade. If you ignore a bunch of other stuff, like flying 5 metres above and behind my plane. :D.

It's good in ground RB, but air RB is nothing but suffering. Endless suffering. You can get outdone by almost any aircraft you come across.
