100% agree with you across the board. FSU should have been in and it really shouldn't have been up for discussion. We all knew this was going to happen, didn't we? Real quick note on Michigan's schedule- The Notre Dame-Michigan Rivalry was put on hold for what will be over a decade, so when we were filling ND's spot on the schedule these last two seasons, we were left with slim pickens as most marquee teams were already scheduled up. The next four years are Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Texas in addition to USC, Washington, Oregon, UCLA being sprinkled in there, of course. Not defending our schedule AT ALL. It was weak and could have cost us had the cards been stacked differently this season. But we do have a minor excuse for the weak O.O.C. schedule and in the past we've always had Notre Dame year after year.

I remember during FSU's 2013 season, a certain ESPN analyst said they truly believed FSU was the best team in the country and they had the best shot at winning the title. Im pretty sure it was Rece, Des and Herb who laughed at that like it was a joke and complete dismissal, from that point on i knew what was up. It was after the Clemson game and everyone with two brain cells knew how good that team was, except for the people whos job it was to know. They just say what they want to be the case because they understand when you control the narrative you can always adjust the outcomes.

Great points. This is maddening. I’m a Clemson alum and I never thought I would be defending FSU, but that’s where we are at. So the new rules are a power 5 conference team can go undefeated, win their conference championship game and still get left out of the playoffs if a key player is injured? What if a key player says prior to the selection committee’s decision that they’re sitting out the bowl game? Would the committee keep that team out of the playoffs? Players will simply game the system and decide whether to opt out of playoffs after the committee has made their selections. There are basically no rules - the playoff selection committee is a farce.
The only way to show them that you're angry and you're tired of Alabama, and Bama/SEC special treatment is to not watch the game and hurt TV ratings, but until people show them that they're tired of cheering for, and watching Alabama lose they're going to keep making everybody money off of great TV ratings.

1) BOTTOM LINE: Playoff selection is SUBJECTIVE & Promised to NO ONE, so complaining is wildly unreasonable..... 2) ACC voted against 2023 Twelve Team Playoff out of spite, this choice backfired..... 3) Could the current FSU team win their first 11 games? Answer: NO..... 4) Does FSU deserve to be in the playoff ONLY because they beat Power 5 Teams, unlike 13-0 Liberty? NO..... 5) The Power 5 “category” is just a category. SMU, for example, will be Power 5 next year, so beating SMU in 2024 will be considered a greater win because of their new “category?” NO. SMU is still SMU, regardless of their category..... 6) If you can see a difference between 13-0 Liberty & 13-0 FSU, you CAN ALSO see a difference between FSU & the 4 playoff teams.
This set the example that in the 12 team world next year they can have all B1G and SEC teams outside of the other Conference Champs that they’re forced to let in. If you tell people that they don’t matter long enough they may just believe you and your ratings you want to prop up may drop off. What good is it to “be the best conference if no other conferences exist? B1G and SEC need to be careful. This is the prime chance for either the SEC or B1G to grab every program that matter from the ACC. Word is 9 programs have looked into moving to the BIG XII. The only way anyone is getting out of the ACC GOR is for the conference to dissolve. If 9 programs decide to leave at once the ACC is over. If the SEC grabs Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC, NC State, VT, etc the B1G will permanently be behind the SEC.
Ncaa needs to find a way to have a system where no voting is involved. No more committee, no more voting. If the playoffs are expanding like the NFL, then fully do it like the NFL where there's boxes teams need to check to get in. If they don't, they're out.
Bowl games don’t matter any more and now neither does the regular season. The team that shows up to the bowl game is a completely different team from the regular season. Both FSU and Georgia have a lot of players going to NFL draft and to the portal. It’s all about the money. We’ve had other teams get wronged in the past also. It’s only going to change once we the fans start turning the channel and stop going to games. When it hurts their pockets like it did Bud light, they will quickly find a way to make it work.

I'm going to be that guy. But I understand both sides of the argument. It would have been absurd to leave out bama who beat Georgia in the sec championship and was 12-1 in the sec. Even in a down year it's the best conference. It's also absurd that a team went 2-0 in the best conference and 13-0 overall with a conference championship is left out. But if we are only doing just the four best teams Georgia should have been in. The criteria is too subjective to ever get this right. You really need a unrealistic 32 team tournament where everyone plays the same number of games to get this right every year. Idk the fix, maybe less games in the regular season? But this is college football, and it's never been perfect and it's never been good. But it is how we decide things for the foreseeable future

I don’t feel bad for FSU at all, back in January 2022, the ACC Commissioner/Alliance said “the ACC was firmly opposed to the idea of going to an eight- or 12-team playoff. We’re not opposed to expansion at some point, right now, we don’t feel like that’s the right thing to do in college football.” So the only one to blame is him because we would’ve already had the new format this season and he didn’t want it. So stay mad at the ACC/Alliance, not the committee. FSU would be in the playoffs this year if the ACC would’ve voted for the new format to start this year vs next year. But they didn’t so, oh well…FSU/fans don’t wanna talk about that because they want everyone to feel sorry for them

ACC had the chance to vote in a 12 team playoff for this year but the Commissioner joined forces wth the B1G and PAC 12 to stop that from happening. A 12 team playoff is something we have needed for a long time. Next year it will happen and nobody will be crying except the losers

I remember during FSU's 2013 season, a certain ESPN analyst said they truly believed FSU was the best team in the country and they had the best shot at winning the title. Im pretty sure it was Rece, Des and Herb who laughed at that like it was a joke and complete dismissal, from that point on i knew what was up. It was after the Clemson game and everyone with two brain cells knew how good that team was, except for the people whos job it was to know. They just say what they want to be the case because they understand when you control the narrative you can always adjust the outcomes.

So the new rules are a power 5 conference team can go undefeated, win their conference championship game and still get left out of the playoffs if a key player is injured? What if a key player says prior to the selection committee’s decision that they’re sitting out the bowl game? Would the committee keep that team out of the playoffs? Players will simply game the system and decide whether to opt out of playoffs after the committee has made their selections.
There are basically no rules - the playoff selection committee is a farce.

1) BOTTOM LINE: Playoff selection is SUBJECTIVE & Promised to NO ONE, so complaining is wildly unreasonable..... 2) ACC voted against 2023 Twelve Team Playoff out of spite, this choice backfired..... 3) Could the current FSU team win their first 11 games? Answer: NO..... 4) Does FSU deserve to be in the playoff ONLY because they beat Power 5 Teams, unlike 13-0 Liberty? NO..... 5) The Power 5 “category” is just a category. SMU, for example, will be Power 5 next year, so beating SMU in 2024 will be considered a greater win because of their new “category?” NO. SMU is still SMU, regardless of their category..... 6) If you can see a difference between 13-0 Liberty & 13-0 FSU, you CAN ALSO see a difference between FSU & the 4 playoff teams.
This set the example that in the 12 team world next year they can have all B1G and SEC teams outside of the other Conference Champs that they’re forced to let in. If you tell people that they don’t matter long enough they may just believe you and your ratings you want to prop up may drop off. What good is it to “be the best conference if no other conferences exist? B1G and SEC need to be careful. This is the prime chance for either the SEC or B1G to grab every program that matter from the ACC. Word is 9 programs have looked into moving to the BIG XII. The only way anyone is getting out of the ACC GOR is for the conference to dissolve. If 9 programs decide to leave at once the ACC is over. If the SEC grabs Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC, NC State, VT, etc the B1G will permanently be behind the SEC.

Bowl games don’t matter any more and now neither does the regular season. The team that shows up to the bowl game is a completely different team from the regular season. Both FSU and Georgia have a lot of players going to NFL draft and to the portal. It’s all about the money. We’ve had other teams get wronged in the past also. It’s only going to change once we the fans start turning the channel and stop going to games. When it hurts their pockets like it did Bud light, they will quickly find a way to make it work.

Years ago I only drove thru Tally to get to Southern Mississippi (when Ray Guy was there) I never cared a lot about FSU BUT this decision SUCKS so bad. By the Way, Southern Miss. beat Ole Miss when they were No. 4 in the country. It was there homecoming. Guess who won 30 to 14. USM Southerns beat Archie Manning and Ole Miss b/c THAT IS WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME TO SEE WHO MIGHT WIN. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to be that guy. But I understand both sides of the argument. It would have been absurd to leave out bama who beat Georgia in the sec championship and was 12-1 in the sec. Even in a down year it's the best conference. It's also absurd that a team went 2-0 in the best conference and 13-0 overall with a conference championship is left out. But if we are only doing just the four best teams Georgia should have been in. The criteria is too subjective to ever get this right. You really need a unrealistic 32 team tournament where everyone plays the same number of games to get this right every year. Idk the fix, maybe less games in the regular season? But this is college football, and it's never been perfect and it's never been good. But it is how we decide things for the foreseeable future

Yeah that committee guy set on TV and said the only reason that Florida State got left out is because their QB got hurt really they still won all their games and were number four but they won the conference championship and get moved down yeah that makes sense plus UGA was number one we lose one game the whole year and get moved out of the playoffs by the team they said was number 8 who just barely beat Auburn who lost to New Mexico State so yeah the committee is a joke and a sham and should be ashamed of themselves for this mess

You think an undefeated Georgia, Alabama, or LSU will ever get left out of the playoffs because of an injured player? Do ya? A 13-0 SEC team could be on their 4th string QB, lose their top RB, their top 2 receivers, their starting kicker, and half of their OL and DL...doesn't matter. It won't matter. They would still make the playoffs. You know that, right? And not only that, they would still get a top 4 seed. Not 6th. Not 12th. Not 5th. They would be ranked in the top 4. Same with any 13-0 B1G team. Like it or not, we now only have two "power" conferences. The Power Two.. The SEC and the B1G. And instead of the "group of 5", now it is the "group of 7". The ACC and the Big 12 are officially now part of the Group of 7
Dont be surprised if we get to a point in which an 8-4 SEC team gets into the playoff over a 10-2 ACC team...
This is why playoff expansion is necessary. I always thought the four team format was dumb I’m not the best. at math but you have 130+ something teams and only four teams getting to the playoffs. I don’t feel bad for FSU at all, back in January 2022, the ACC Commissioner/Alliance said “the ACC was firmly opposed to the idea of going to an eight- or 12-team playoff. We’re not opposed to expansion at some point, right now, we don’t feel like that’s the right thing to do in college football.” So the only one to blame is him because we would’ve already had the new format this season and he didn’t want it. So stay mad at the ACC/Alliance, not the committee. FSU would be in the playoffs this year if the ACC would’ve voted for the new format to start this year vs next year. But they didn’t so, oh well…FSU/fans don’t wanna talk about that because they want everyone to feel sorry for them

It took FSU 25 minutes of game clock time to get a first down against Louisville. Yes, they were 10 minutes into the 2nd quarter before getting a first down againts a team ranked 10 spots lower. What do you think will happen when UGA pass rush hit them.....
