- Oh how sweet it is... to hear James Taylor sing anything! This is his wonderful performance on the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors show tribute to composer/performer Carole King. Watch her face as she enjoys his rendition and appreciates the great honor being bestowed upon her. Thank you, James... and thank you, Carole King !
Saw him 18 months ago in London. He never left the stage, even in intermission. Talking with fans, signing autographs. If you closed your eyes, it was yesterday. Angel voice, unchanged. Bliss.

I saw him recently too. Once with Carole King, Troubadours.....and once alone. Both times, his voice was SPOT ON. He is unbelievable. When I saw Carole King solo, she was also spot on. When I saw the Troubadour Tour, it was near the end of the tour, and her voice was suffering. Not James though.......he just kept on keeping on. I agree with +susie b, it was like yesterday...and he does have that something magical in his voice. So does his son. Sounds so much alike. Hmm...I seem to be a chatty Kathy here!! LOL!!
I don't think they could have done this without James Taylor.

The first version of “upon the roof” i heard years back was on a double live cd from james, and at the time thought, that it was a song that he had written, not realizing till later that Carole king had let him perform it, and she was the original writer of it! James’s version of the song is best in my opinion, having heard both, but put them both together to make music, and its a real treat, ! The harmonies, and musicality, and everything. Thanks to both of you, for some amazing music over these past several decades !

James Taylor's music was some of my earliest favorite music. This is my favorite version of Up On The Roof. One of my favorite songs.
Sweet baby James ! I’ve loved him since I was a little girl . Never in my dreams did I ever imagine being able to see him in concert! I was surprised for my birthday with tickets to go see my favorite musician ! Well I spent half of the concert In the ladies room throwing up concession food 😢..

This is my very favorite JT song! It helped me deal with those turbulent teen-age yrs. And now it helps me deal with those difficult senior yrs!
My Daddy had homing pigeons in the Bronx when I was little. This song will always make me think oh him.
Love Carol’s version also, but as music history has shown us, some songs are made for certain artists. King/Taylor made the magic with “You’ve Got A Friend” and “ Up On The Roof” Now we also have to remember that Goffin/King “ Roof” also was a hit in ‘62 with The Drifters.

I needed this today. I enjoyed every second of this video. A brief look back to a more normal, less scary time. Didn’t feel that way then, but little did we know what was waiting for us.

I often wonder if JT realizes how much his music has touched, and comforted, and soothed so many. He is one of the artists I grew up with, and to say he influenced my life, would be an understatement! He is one I lived by, that literally helped to shape me, and I found, and still find solace in his music. He is simply... a great creative artist!
