did the band ever do anything else in this kinda noisy vein? ive never been that impressed by their songwriting overall, i vaguely like some of their songs, but this is the only recording from them that ever really impressed me
The lyrics make me think about this girl I met freshman year of high school. Normally I can work some kind of charm on a girl but this one girl left me speechless. My mind would go blank and I’d get so nervous around her and I blew my opportunity. I’ve tried moving on but no matter what I find myself still craving this one girls attention. Idk if I should tell her how I feel or save myself the embarrassment of getting rejected by her again now that I’ve finished high school.
tw: drug use, drinking so i had an ex who i had met in school, she was nice and she spoke to me first, after a couple days of knowing each other we got together (which probably wasn't the best thing). but after some time we actually hung out, and when we did i didn't expect her to avoid me as much as she was. she only hung out with my friends and never acknowledged me. at this time she was a drunk and a drug user and it kind of rubbed off on me, i starting doing drugs (which i'm still stuck doing) to cope with the abuse that had also been going on, like the hitting, the threatening and the mental abuse. overall this might have been a year long relationship where i felt i needed to stay or else i'd be nothing, and i was for a little bit. i had taken a lot of mental damage from that relationship and i had been diagnosed with agoraphobia, ptsd an mdd. i've been using music as a healthy coping mechanism, but i still have some stuff to work on. she really messed me up and that was something i won't recover from for a long time, and it makes me so angry
Maybe, it's because he loves her, but this love seems impossible for him, he thinks the girl will never loving him; And it's very difficult to live with that. He can't talk to THE girl because she to perfect, and don't want to break if she says no. Plus, he can't forget her, because the person you love is a part of you. If you know that guy, and he seems cool and could be one of your friends, and if what I just said is true; so this guy is 1. a good guy, 2. completly in love with her. PS: I'm a guy, and I have this struggle, it's hard :(
i love ok go, but this would be so much better as an acoustic song. there's too much energy in the song, especially for something as emotional as these lyrics
There’s so many different ways they could have made this song sound. I personally think that while it does sound ok, I think they would have had allot more success if they had just a piano playing and maybe a few strings. In this version the rock and distortion kinda takes away from the vocals and emotion. Just a personal take
I like the album version better. The official video is just too much background noise. You can hear vocals better on album version, but I gotta admit the official video is way cool!❤
