  • OK Go performs their song “Needing/Getting” on handbells with help from a smartphone app controlled by the audience.
    Andy Ross coded the mobile apps that people used to play along, Morgan Knutson designed the app visuals, and John Kuramoto created the animation.
    The 2012 This American Life live show “The Invisible Made Visible” featured performances by David Sedaris, David Rakoff, Tig Notaro, Glynn Washington, Ryan Knighton, and host Ira Glass. Plus dance by Monica Bill Barnes & Company, music by OK Go, and photographs by Vivian Maier.

    Very unfortunate that they didn’t wear gloves (which is protocol when playing handbells, as the oils from human skin can corrode the finish on the bell)

      I’m guessing they didn’t wear gloves so they could clap, play guitar etc. idk about handbells but I’m guessing these ended up just fine.
