    This is so helpful. I truly appreciate this and hope I can reconcile with my estranged father. I'd appreciate a video on how to reach out to an estranged parent so that they can be more open to reconnecting. Thanks so much.

    I can't process my emotions, because I can't seem to feel anything anymore. Nothing, zilch, nada. I can't cry, I don't get shocked or upset about things like other people seem to, and I don't get excited about things that I'm supposed to or feel happy about anything. I'm a total blank. I've tried to feel something, but it's not possible. How can I "sit with my emotions" or process them if they no longer exist?

    Next month is 3 years since my son stopped talking to me. Its especially painful that I recognize some of the issues that caused irritation with him, but our last phone conversation was so vague, I honestly don't know why all this went on so long. I suspect my daughter in law has a big hand in this, they lived with me 2 years, before they were able to buy their own house in our town. A year that included the pandemic year. I know I wasn't the only mom who's children were living with them. I'm sure many a family had issues, all in the same house, the pandemic stress. My daughter in law would often talk to me about what behaviors I needed to correct. 1st year I was so stunned, I tried many ways to apologize and reconnect. 2nd year, I made 2 attempts. In 2024, I wrote a lengthy letter to my son, apologizing, listing my behaviours that were inappropriate, and just a catch up of my life. That was nearly 2 months ago, and I'm not going to reach out anymore. He lives 2 miles from me and I'm too scared to show up at their house. And that's where I'm at right now

      Hi thanks for writing. I agree not a good idea to just show up. Were you able to apologize to your daughter in law?

    • @toohot1027
      @toohot1027 3 месяца назад

      @@youtubemariemorinestrangement No,no one responded to my early attempts. There was a issue one time in her listing my issues, where she mocked me, did a little dance step, going " oh, boo hoo", because I started crying. Being disrespected like that, my son just sitting there quiet, didn't help matters. A lot went downhill after that

    I cannot undo a lifetime of brainwashing by an ex-wife and stepfather. I lost my family when she cheated. It's her son and always was, I was suppose to give up my life after the divorce and my son was suppose to be my only priority. That's his reason for the estrangement which didn't take place until he was 37 years old. Figure that one out. He never made me feel their was a problem.

    Can’t enact if the other says no. We cannot, nor should we, force ourselves onto others. That’s selfish.

    I’m estranged from both daughters. I appreciate your video and will put these ideas to use. It seem such a shame estrangement is so prevalent in our society. The biggest losers are our grandchildren who are being kept & possibly alienated from their grandparents.
    I wish the great value of family was better understood.

    Something that is seriously lacking is adult children showing respect for their parents. Parents who have put the time, sacrifice, love, teaching, understanding into their children, whose adult children forget, once they no longer need money or any support from their parents is a deep shame.

    • @watitduful
      @watitduful Год назад +6

      Absolutely right. Even if the parent molested the kid or abused them in other manners they still need to be respected and worshipped. It doesn’t matter how you treat the kid it only matters that the parent wears the title is all. Totally agree lol. Smh

      @@FreeSpirit47 Who said I was molested? Your horns are showing Brenda. The fact that you would mock that kind of struggle because I disagreed with you shows what you're about.Along with that, the fact that you imply that a victim of molestation is itself a disability shows you lack rudimentary knowledge about that topic. You need help given your apathy for victims of this stuff. Wouldn't let you near my children.

      @@FreeSpirit47 Who said I'm angry lol. Please stop projecting. I hope you find God and learn how to have respect for others. That would be a good start so that maybe your child/children would feel comfortable being around you. You can't expect them to invite you back in if you are not in a healthy place mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. You should take this time to self reflect on why your child/children cut you off instead of mocking others on social media. One of the most dishonorable things in life is to have your own children running from you instead of to you. Bad legacy Brenda. Love you too and get your life together. Focus on your fixing being a failure as a woman & a mother instead of on me. Hate gets you nowhere. God bless and peace.
