@Locked_Character Jupiter King got a true form in a JP-only rerun of the collab and it actually becomes a really solid unit

Sorta. We got the Tactics trailer and Demo but we switch players have to wait still. They didn't release the demo on Switch, just steam.
Not really all I wanted is a collection that have all the arcade ones plus the gb,gba,ds for extra stuff plus rewind and Speedrun mode, online scores, please make it happen didn't liked the idea of making a run and gun into strategy rpg or a tower defense 😢

SNK will do anything but make an actual Metal Slug sequel
better that they don't release one that lets everyone down like a band returning after 10 years and putting out a steaming pile of dook.

To those that aren't all about this game and don't want to play a tower defense version of Metal Slug, they do have Metal Slugs 1-5(X as well) under the ACA NEOGEO ports on modern consoles.
I wish they add them all into a collection I love the original games the run and gun I didn't liked the idea of making it into tower defense or strategy rpg😢
The *BEST* things they ever did to this version are remove stamina point and add character design.
That’s cause it’s not a mobile game haha. Crazy how much of a difference it makes.

@@YoursTrulyMew No, they only added a few of the extra ops units. I guess its fine since the original game had a LOT of different units, most of them fricking rip-offs.

the units are in but they're all lumped under Monsters / Other
Amadeus and Pharaoh Army are combined by the Independant Army. while Invaders are combined by the Martians in the Space Army.
Microtransactions
Factions only existed for faction bonuses. If there were more than five factions the deck creativity would be even more minimal.

This game actually looks fun
Its last version (Metal Sluq Attack) is super fun but to much Pay to Win. I hope they change it.
Never heard of this but it looks fun. They’re really trying to expand the Metal Slug series with these different gameplay styles.
Used to be a mobile game, the biggest highlight of this version is that they got rid of all features typically found in a F2P game (energy system, microtransaction shop, etc.)

@@SpikeTheWolf No, since it runs on a new engine with a new system, and was made over a year after the original game's closing, you must start a new profile.
Tower defense games aren't games where you defend a tower.... this is a 2d rts game.
Really hoping this'll warm things up for Metal Slug Tactics to actually come out
I used the Professor's art as like an image to represent a character in a couple of fun roleplays I was in. So seeing this get on consoles is surreal.
I would prefer a new Metal Slug utilizing the original
Neo Geo pixel art graphical style, with the original traditional
classic RUN n GUN game play, with new locations/enemies/abilities.

Was excited till I saw it wasn’t like the arcade ones.
The arcade games were alright, but nothing SUPER special, except for maybe 3. This one is probably a better game than any of them, I'd imagine.

@@emmastarr5242no, just no. I played the mobile version of this game a lot when it was still up and it doesn’t compare to the main line Metal Slug games. I’m sure this version is better (it costs money so it probably doesn’t have any microtransactions), but even still, you can’t compare a tower defense with a run and gun.
Unfortunately, though I don't mind it entirely since you can still get the arcade ones pretty easily

I did get the switch version before I realized there is a PC version, though I would say that whether PC version is worth it you should confirm if you also have "all characters do your special now" button, because you will die from clicking all of your guys individually otherwise ^^
But yeah, this version is 10$ initial purchase, and from what I can see no more microtransactions exist. So you earn the gacha currency just by beating stages and challenges which is great. The variety of characters feels good too. For 10$ it's worth it imho

Used to play a lot this game...wanted to play it again like 3 weeks ago and didn't even know they had removed it...used to spend a lot on medals or i don't remember they're name... to buy units and heroes... really liked the game and had my own guild...now its all gone.

I remember how tedious the grinding for getting in ranked were. But this time its gonna pick the most meta pick instead of grinding. And i almost forgot about the goated osts of this game, hope this game have all of them.

They kept making cheap cash grab instead of an actual good run and gun metal slug game.

Oh damn, they shadow dropped this. I remember being hooked big time on this because I always wanted to play a Metal Slug game where I could essentially play as or control the enemy factions that you faced throughout the series, when this game got deleted off of mobile I thought it was gone for good, very happy to see this return. Dooking it out with nothing but chaos on the screen against other real players was such a blast.
I like the sprite work. Its some of the fhe best.

I hope this time they don't add a lot of absurd units like the original, because some of them where SO broken that it was imposible to balance the game anymore and it ended falling due it's own weight (lack of balance) a broken waifu unit to counter another waifu, and the cycle continues until it's unevitable end..

I played the heck out this game for 2 days when it was released on iOS. Towards the end of the second day it wouldn't load anymore. Told me my account was banned. Never again SNK!

We got a whole other Metal Slug game before Tactics came out. Which I think was supposed to release in like 2021
This is just a port of a mobile game
Its previous version released since 2016.
Hope they add new characters as DLC.
