This is a PERFECT example of the kind of game that’s worth remaking. An ambitious game that flew under the radar in its time that has the potential to be truly great with a couple minor adjustments.

I wanted the game two when I was 8 I asked for both Epic Mickey and Epic Mickey 2 The Power Of Two for Christmas however I only got Epic Mickey 2 The Power Of Two and Epic Mickey Power Of Illusion but those two games are still awesome games and my childhood

@karnovrpg man I remember reading how he wanted Mickey to change depending on the choices you make. Or am I incorrectly remembering?
@@karnovrpgThey never intended for the game to be like the first concepts in the first place, they deliberately made it as brutal as possible because they knew they wouldn't approve it, then they lowered it until they gave precisely the style they wanted, it really was a 4D Chess move
@@000mjd Understandable. I think today's Disney would more likely to be lenient on that kind of gruesome stuff compared to how Disney was then.
I remember how shocked everyone was in theaters over the Mickey’s Runaway Brain short right before The Goofy Movie aired. It was basically Mickey gone PG13.
I was like 4 or 5 and my mom kept covering my eyes during the brain extraction. Felt like they were competing with Itchy & Scratchy from the Simpsons. And Warren’s concept made that look like the Teletubbies. 😆
I hope they make an Epic Mickey 3 one day!

Yeah, but Disney doesn't do edge. I always knew Game Informer oversold it long before we even got gameplay footage
Never know of course it depends on how much they needed to redo, but even a remake like Paper Mario the Thousand Year door which was done from the ground up still put in stuff that was planed for the orignal but had to be cut.

To me it looks like it's running in a completely different engine to the original game, both visually but especially since there were major performance problems in the Switch reveal trailer.
If it was running the exact same codebase as the Wii, I doubt there would have been so many issues.
Let's hope Digital Foundry makes a review of it to see how well it performs on all platforms! =D
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE FIX THE CAMERA!!! The glitches were bad too but the camera was the biggest issue with the original.
They showed off the new camera in the gameplay footage a couple months ago!

Yeah, he talks and looks way different compared to on the Wii. Maybe it's bc of age, or he's really just held at gunpoint. Unfortunate, cuz he always had an established personality that I really liked.

When I was working custodial at Epcot I remember learning that there'd been a straight-up hostage situation at one of the restrooms back in the 90s, but technically that's just Disney being where hostages were held, instead of them holding hostages. I am a HUGE Disnerd, and - at the time this came out - I had learned about Oswald from a high school research project on Walt Disney I was doing. And this game made me love Oswald even more. 😊 I'm super excited for this coming out and I'm gonna pre-order it, too. TY to everyone who's helping bring this back!

0:49 Bro, that skin was BROKEN in EM2, the only thing that could damage you with it is anything related to thinner. Because of that, any bosses or animatronics that didn't relie on thinner to hit you (which is most of them) were cheesable. Also i am happy to see that Warren Spector returns for this awesome remake, now i really expect the series to continue after the remake of this gem. (Unless they remake EM2, then they finally make a new entry)

I remember when this game was announced. It was all I wanted for Christmas in 2010. While it might not have lived up to the promise of the concept, it's still a refreshing and (mostly) fun game
