This is a wonderful performance. The pianist has inserted so many nuances.....they are gifts to the ear and soul. Thank you so much for posting this performance. Years ago I was the photographer for the San Francisco Symphony when Maestro Blomstedt was the music director. He was sensational then and he still is.

This is an extraordinarily moving performance. It is particularly notable that Maestro Blomstedt is in such good form; he must be the oldest conductor still in activity. I have followed Francesco Piemontesi all his career. I do have to say I am bit concerned by his facial expressions. I hope he is in good spirits because he often looks as if he is ready to break into tears. Perhaps he simply has a bad cold. This in no way affects his profound musicianship, of course. Thank you enormously for making this wonderful concert available.
