Yes. This is characteristic of the Frankfurt's videos and of course very important. The video quality is also very good, making me feel as though I know many of the orchestra members.

Yes indeed.... the sound engineers for the HR Orchestra are top,top, class. The clarity I get through my main sound system is actually better than CD quality. Beautiful sound - it is as though you are actually in the concert hall itself. Bravo engineers.

K453 is perhaps my personal favourite of the Mozart pcs. Very good performance, playful and serious at the same time, not overly romantic.

Welch ein feines, harmonisches Zusammenspielen ! All diese Musiker sind grosse Artisten . Man kann ihnen nur dankbar sein , dass sie die Zuhörer mit solch einer wunderbaren Musik " verwöhnen " ! Mozart wird niemals in Vergessenheit geraten ! Unmöglich !
Wow I'm no piano expert but this performance is brilliant to my ears. Manze and Helmchen seem to make a perfect match. So good to reaffirm that there is some really great talent out there in an age of much dumbing down in the arts.
Helmchen and Manze recorded a Beethoven piano concerto-cycle togheter as well, especially their accounts of the second and fifth concertos are really worth a listen!
The hr orchestra is a trademark. For me personally they have the correct empathetic attitude to the pcs they give online. And most important I think the chemistry between conductor and the performers is the right one

Sagenhafte Aufnahme. Was für ein ein Pianist!!! Eine großartige Leistung aller Beteiligten! Ich habe Wolfgangs 453 vorher nie gehört. Je älter ich werde, desto mehr mag ich seine Musik und seltsamerweise überrascht sie mich auch häufiger.
MOZART war und bleibt ein ausserordentliches und universalisches Genie ! Seine Musik ist so harmonisch und so erfreulich für die Seele ! Ein sehr grosses Orchester und ein meisterhaftes Spielen dieses Pianisten ! Grûsse aus Frankreich an Sie,die Sie auch ein Musikliebhaber sind wie ich !

was würde wohl der Wolferl sagen, wenn er eine solche Aufführung seiner genialen Kompositionen zu sehen und zu hören bekäme? "Bist deppert (er war ja Salzburger), was die da machen auf ihren Instrumenten, die sind ja besser als ich damals! Was haben die für wunderbare Klaviere haben, meine wären schon wieder kaputt! Und die Interpretationen sind ja besser, als ich es mir träumen hätte lassen!"...
I clapped a lot! This is such a wonderful concerto and less well-known than some of the others - at least to me. The playing of orchestra and pianist alike was beautiful. So much contrast of mood in this piece and I have to say this pianist understands the silences so well. Perhaps this is made easier when there is actual silence in the auditorium? It was Mozart who said, I believe, that music is silver but silence is golden and it is this fundamental principal which surely drives all of his music.

Wunderschöne und lebhafte Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Konzerts mit klarem doch zugleich anmutigem Klang des genialen Soloklaviers sowie gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und fast himmlisch. Der intelligente und ebenso geniale Dirigent leitet das kompakte und ausgezeichnete Orchester im angemessenen Tempo und mit angenehmer Dynamik. Alles ist wunderbar!

Mozart is wonderful because his music is simple , yet every note has to be there. ( Just in my opinion 😉) This concerto shows that nature really well. Loved it.

My favourite part as well! The very operatic Mozart, his musical native tongue. It could be a short excerpt of any of his Da Ponte operas, but particularly Figaro-like. For me, at least :)

It could be good that this channel add the English translation (piano concerto) in the title and the popular work notation (Piano Concerto No. 17 in G major, KV. 453). Clowns say: "no the classical music is not elitist, you just have to know the official catalog number of works and speak multiple languages to search works or just Google it idiots"
I suspect the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra have underestimated that their concerts on RUclips can be interesting to people outside Germany. I have enjoyed a good number of them, but not many other orchestras or concert halls seem to be using this medium - Wigmore Hall is a notable exception. Great music is a universal language, but this recording didn't come up in a RUclips search - I had to dig down a bit to find it. I only knew it existed because it had come up previously on the recommended links, because I had viewed other hr-So recordings before.
