- My truck started ticking because the motor mounts went bad allowing the engine to drop and let the fan hit the fan shroud.... Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for this! I keep seeing videos on how to take the big metal mounting bracket out but not the actual mount. thank you!! Saved me so much time!
Nice lookin truck.
Thanks man! ✌️
I can’t thank you enough man your the only person whose done this one these old pickups with leaving the engine in the truck😂 is it a 5.7 v8 by chance?
Thanks! It’s a 4.3 v6
@@EdsGarage99 will this same method work on the 5.7?
@@Kamaro76 yeah I’m pretty sure it will.
How'd it work out?@@Kamaro76
What brand were the ones you replace or where did you get them from ?…so everyone’s stays away from them ?…and not have to do it twice
I think there were the Duralast from AutoZone, about $12 and complete junk!
I have to do this to replace the darn freeze plug behind it. Lot of work for a $2 part haha
Yeah it is! 🤣
Did the bad mounts cause some vibration in the cab? and how much were the new mounts?
Didn’t vibrate the cab it was just letting the fan hit the fan shroud. I bought the good mounts they were like $60 each. I used the cheap ones before and they only lasted a few months.
@@EdsGarage99 oh ok. How long did it take to swap the mounts out?
Petetheeedriva can’t remember the exact time but it was a few hours
Did you have to leave the bolts to the block loose in order to get the big bolts in? Just swapped out my mounts but can only get the passenger side to line up while the driverside is off by a like a quarter inch.
Did you have to jack up the truck so the engine would have enough of an angle for clearance to let the old motor mounts out?
Nah, just jack the engine up until you get enough clearance.Just watch the distributor on the fire wall.
@@EdsGarage99 okay. The reason I ask is I have a 7.4 L I am doing the motor mounts on for the same reason with the fan. And I jacked up the engine with the truck on the ground and I don't have room to get the old ones out. They are sitting in there loose right now.
@@nomadyesjoy dang that sucks, I’m not sure with a 7.4 L, it’s probably got a bigger trans too making less room to move upward.
@@EdsGarage99 yeah I found a video of a guy taking the headers off to have room. So I think that is my next try. But on that note thank you for replying and for your video. It did get me in the right direction and made me laugh. "The $10 ones" haha. Your truck is clean!
@@nomadyesjoy Thanks man! Glad it helped.
Made in the good ol China.
😂
Thanks for the laugh dude
Thanks for watching!! ✌️
What’s up Ed how’s the new motor mounts doing? I didn’t see the “hey RUclips this motor mounts are good comment” haha. I’m about to change my 92 silverado 5.7L v8 mounts with the Ac Delco’s. Got some bad vibration & motor movement. Let’s see what happens amigo!
Doing good so far, haven’t had any problems with them. 🤙
How'd it turn out on the 5.7?
@@MauricioGarcia-ii3te it turned out good 👍🏼👍🏼
@@Tonez408 sick, I didn't want to have to drop the control arm😭
305 or 350 ? V8
Just a 4.3 v6 ☹️ it’s my daily.
@@EdsGarage99 Good engine 👍
Shudda bought the $20 motor mounts
