💀💀💀 the driver side is most definitely more difficult. Steering shaft and all the wiring bs in the way. Passenger side was a fucking breeze compared to the driver side
😂 true story! Sometimes these types are videos provide the valuable information that make you say “no frickin way”. And that’s great info to have! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. this helps with a direction to go for the right side. did the left side today and that wasn't fun. I see that i did the "easy" side first.
Thank you for the video and for sharing details on this repair. Especially the length of time it takes to replace this mount given your conditions, tools, ect. Much appreciated!!
Im having to replace my oil pan gasket on my silverado and now im thinking it would also be a good time to do my motor mounts since you gotta pull the diff and crossmember
Thanks. I've been working on this mount 3 days now. Have exhaust manifold off, starter is coming off next, trying to get new mount finagled in place. Seems like engine won't go high enough to get it in. I'll keep on till it's done. NOT FUN AT ALL!!!
Very helpful did it and of course the noise started again on the pullout so lifted the hood slightly power brake it seen the motor move a lot gotta change the driver side now but thank you and I got them all from inner fender with swivel and a swivel ratchet but thank you for this video helped a lot was told a thousand to do just one had it done in just 6 hours had to replace started broke it on reinstalling so I had to do it twice
@@acres90 - Hell yes!! Way to take the win on that! I wonder what’s next? Serpentine belt tensioner? 4l60e trans fluid? E-brake shoes? I’m excited to find out.
Yes bro we are the same.technic on how to change the engine mount .really on the first place its really hard but when i do it and finish it its become easy....
I didn’t screw around with the passenger side. Wheel, whee well, header, front diff, diff hanger. Passenger top front bolt cannot be removed without removing those items easily. Pro tip: cut up the heat shield and push out of the way and you can remove that last bolt, starter. Why? B/c it makes life much easier. If you leave the header on, it’s a fight.
Most all chevy 1/2 ton 3/4 ton and 1 ton single and duelly only upto the 3500hd series trucks will all be 140 ft lbs in a star pattern. Remember just kiss the ground with the tire.
@@WiringRescue I have to do mine next week. Ive watched all of yalls videos on this. Mines a 5.3 4x4. Its a pain cause the bulk of the stock mounts. Jack the engine up. sawzall the mount in half. pull it out in 2 smaller manageable pieces. Then throw in the atomic fabrication mounts. Which are much more compact. I think it will work out.
Got the mount inside of frame now how the fu*k you get it back where it poda sit? Can't get it there. I've cut the peg on the bottom and the bolt on top and still can't get ot to seat, what gives?

Very helpful video bro , the passenger side is a bit more difficult than the driver side Wich not many people show on RUclips , THANK YOU 🙏

Thanks for editing out all of the cussing and throwing of wrenches, 😄 , but I've decided to just pay someone else to do mine. Great video

Happy to help! I found a lot of videos for the other side, but none for this one, which is why I made it. Hopefully it is helpful to people!

Thanks for the commentary. Other similar videos don’t describe the details as well.

This was a great help. I know it is minor but how did you undo and re-bend the heat shield tabs?
Dude you're my hero, I love this thank you so much
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. This really helped me.

Great video! I really appreciate it. You didn't mention what was wrong with the motor mount, so would you let us know what was wrong with it. Thanks!
It has been a long time since I made this, but I believe it was torn and allowing the engine to rock at times.
I've started this job. It's drivers side though. Do u have a vid of that one going back in? I got the old one out
Sadly I never did the driver side on that truck, so I don’t have a video for it. I hear it’s not fun though. I’m cheering for you!
@@WiringRescue thanks....I'll keep ya updated. I've realized, if you're gonna own a gm vehicle you better learn some mechanic skills

Just curious why you replaced that, it looked like yours was in good shape?
This was a huge help. Thank you.
amazing.

is it the same concept for 05 duramax?
How many miles did the truck have on it when the mount was replaced?
I don’t know exactly, but somewhere around 130-140k.
Thank you for this!!
Happy to help!
Awesome video 😎👍
Thank you sir!!!
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I wish you would have explained how to get that starter bolt off. I can’t fit a socket on the one starter bolt.
Great video and very informing

Bad advise every mount ive seen missing the shield wears 10x quicker. Just pull the manifolds so much easier.
Good job
Thanks!

Thank you for both front mounts about 6 hours conservatively?
That sounds about right. Give or take 2 hours.
THANKS !!!!
Thank YOU for watching!
Great video, you should be a gynecologist 😂
Bend .... don't break 😊
There’s gotta be an aftermarket mount that is better. The factory mounts don’t last 2 years
There is atomic manufacturing makes a life time guarantee one I'm about to put in mine
You never want to lift on the oil pan.
Im just going to saw the motor mount in half.
You can definitely do that to get the old one out, but how will you get the new one back in?

Bro. A Silverado, an RX-7, and a Subaru Impreza are NOT musclecars. They're not even RATTY. Cut that out.
I prefer the Ratty Muscle for sure, but occasionally other crap rolls in the door. I will keep this in mind though.
