    This movie needed to explain what the gas is and where it came from, but I was able to find a bit of lore about it. Apparently, the earthquake was so strong it caused cracks to open deep within the Earth where the gas had been for millions of years. There is enough gas that the whole of Europe has been covered in it except for the United Kingdom because it isn't connected to mainland Europe and is therefore safe. The rest of the world is also unaffected. Other than that, that's all the information I could find.

    • @lindsayfaust440
      @lindsayfaust440 2 года назад +4

      Yeah, like what Signal Snowtop said, I thought it could potentially have to do with the body chemistry and a certain hormone being produced only after puberty or vice versa, but still. They needed to explain that using actual scientific research and by literally telling us something that distinctly changes after a person reaches adulthood. Instead they just left that completely unknown and it was very unconvincing. Not only that, but it's not like the gas itself could undo an autoimmune disorder (also called bubble baby disease), right? Like if anything it would do the opposite. I've never heard of a toxic gas that literally KILLS healthy people but then magically ALSO CURES an insanely rare and dangerous/potentially lethal disease. That's completely bullshit. Like it wasn't just that she was fine in the world all along and the doctors misdiagnosed her, I think that it's supposed to be that the gas cures her disorder -- otherwise why would that other boy with the same condition be fine as well? People with that condition can't even go into open air, especially not air ridden with tiny particles. AND at the end, in the scene with Sarah running, it shows her, the boy and that other girl with dark hair from the zoom session (who also has the condition according to the movie) all going through the field. Even if it's not supposed to be a real scene, it's supposed to symbolize they're all free now, so how can three people who have lived in a tiny bubble their entire lives all miraculously be able to go outside in unfiltered air by the end of the movie? It's a nice thought, but extremely unrealistic. It's not even like any of them received that special Canadian treatment, it just kinda *happened.* So yeah, to sum it all up: in any case, that part of the plot is disappointingly unconvincing, and damaging to the rest of the movie's logic/storyline.

    The fact the military is so nice when he asked for an air tank was rlly surprising as in every other American movie the military is always hogging everything for themselves and don’t care about strangers. (Im aware its a French/Canadian film. I was comparing to USA films)

    • @Darqshadow
      @Darqshadow 2 года назад +460

      That's for added drama. In truth, something like this would cause the world to respond en masse with support from medical supplies to personal (if only in one location) to help get people out. The French military would have squads going home to home trying to evac as many people as they can which includes spare air tanks and gas masks for protection. NATO would also respond with the full might of it's military, ranging from air craft dropping supplies, boots on the ground, more gear etc.
      Ironically same thing would happen in the Russian Sphere of Influence as well. Many of the non party officers and soldiers would go in and try to get as many people out as well. Many have families, many take their oaths to defend civilians very seriously, and this would lower the body count by a decent margin.

    • @stanclark8824
      @stanclark8824 Год назад +1

      that part, but thanks to the mist blocking everything making it safe for them, but bad for adults. it changed and affected the air around them so that allergens seem to have lessened or nearly disappeared for them because the chemicals in the mist are greater. kind of knocked out the bad stuff and made it good for them basically.

    It was around the four minute mark that I realized what superb, thorough narration you were providing!
    People with visual impairment could listen and recieve accurate, thorough narration of the film, allowing them to enjoy it as one does with radio plays.
    I don't know whether you specifically set out to be so precise in your narration, but it really does help visually impaired people and also makes your production suitable for audio broadcasting.

    I got this old woman who's name I forget, but I remember thinking she was a boring one to have.

    Things that movies always gets me are old people and kids. Maybe because I'm a mother and the people that took care of me when I was a child were my grandparents, May they rest in peace. And this movie have them both. I get so sad, especially if the old people are the most kind and wholesome people in the movie. Seeing them die, damn that's just heartbreaking! And as for kids, you know the feeling of eagerness to protect your child at all cause including sacrificing your own life.
