See this is EXACTLY why you just tell people things. "Yeah, the reason we're giving you this is so that we don't do extremely stupid things to make sure this incredibly important mission succeeds." This is also the reason you add the human element to these situations instead of simply cutting it out.
But if they knew about it they would get curious and curiosity can be realy really bad depending on the situation. Imagine if they never would have found out about the drug they got. Pretty sure everything maybe would have normal till the end. You either have two option: Option number 1 is to never tell them the truth and try everthing possible so they dont find it out and get to curious to the point that they missbehave or: Option 2, that would be your approach to tell them everything and hope they understand it. Option 2 is in my opinion way to risky tho because you can never know how they would react to such an information. Maybe you being honest to them makes them curious about how it feels to not drink the drug and they all start stop taking the drug you know ? I mean either way is a good approach but the safest in my opinion is option number to never tell them and to never ket them find out about it.
I have an even better ending. The ship's communications was never restored. After 86 years the ship arrives only to find the planet already inhabited and colonized by humans. Shortly after the ship departed there was a technological breakthrough. A new method of propulsion was discovered which allowed the trip to be made in 10 years.
That makes sense since theyre voyage lasted 86 years which is enough to come up with something revolutionary especially when were talking about a even more modern time

The worst part is, Zach killed off what was essentially his father figure without remorse. A man who cared for them with every part of his being and he just killed him for an excuse to gain power through chaos.
That's a big part of human nature. Once a human gets a little taste of power and freedom, they will crave more and they will do almost anything to get it, unless they can resist their primal urges which is truly the only thing that separates us from other primates like Chimpanzees.
This is just The Lord of the Flies written 200 years from now but with teenagers who somehow possess even less intellectual prowess than the elementary and middle school children from the book.
well considering grown adults today have less intellectual prowess than the elementary and middle school children from the book. while there are teenagers who graduate high school functionally illiterate. its not really surprising.

@@ccpboy1 and that's why they just needed to have tests and selection for the mission and found that's one who will work without blue liquid. Not just rise some children and send them all.
Let's be honest, in real life theres no way they would only send one adult on the voyage. And we can also agree that the voyage would have gone just fine if there were more adults on board.
In the real world nobody would kill each other. Killing someone would just mean more work for you + others would probably find out because you are literally stuck with them for the next 60 years.

The main issue is the lack of redundancy just having one adult supervising. They should have a crew of at least 5 or 6 minimum to accompany the children.
It doesn't make any sense to not have adults for the children to emulate, but there is a reason: This movie is a complete rip-off of Lord of the Flies, so it has to be free of adults to drive the plot.
also, to only use the blue juice when something scary is happening, because i guess all those suppressed emotions and feelings come out like a volcano, and thats why there is lots of violence and lying, because there was basically no adults to teach them correct values
This isn't a documentary, tho? Like, this didn't actually happen. You can't use it as a reason for why something shouldn't happen. Not to say I think we should be sending children on life saving missions, I just don't think this is a good example of why that shouldn't happen.

There is a saying that says 'When you're born in a burning house, you think the whole world is on fire. But it's not.' Like saying to them every day: "Continue to take this thing or this mission won't succeed." Being raised only for this mission, this would've maybe put some kind of pressure. Of course, the best idea would've been to have children and adults, so when the adults dies, the children who are now adults would be there to control the next generation. This is only my opinion 😅
To be fair: Apparently the adult wanted to tell them exactly that but wasn't allowed (which is why he sent the mesage back asking for the permission?). This sounds a lot like a scientifically advanced lord of the flies. They are just 5 years or so older and in space. Yes there are many differences but the message is similar.
Our sci fi movies are dumb.... Human beings are not destined to colonize other planets. Human beings are destined to live in space on ships as explorers, in a peaceful human space society. (That's my explanation for the UFO phenomenon: humans who) live in space observing us) Also, these sci fi movies always imagine that humans still practice marriage in the future, but i doubt that's going to be true. Humans evolved to live in tribes, not marriages, and that's why human kind is so dysfunctional, because our families are structured incorrectly..
@@JosedeJezeus I can see people wanting to be monogamous but if there are a very small limited amount of humans left, or the environment is making it hard for children to grow then a tribe mentality does work better. Human belong in tribes. Marriage is a mistake of history, and is already dying out in the modern world. The major religions of the world teach that marriage is the proper way to live... It's not. If marriage was the proper way to live, then it wouldn't be dying out in the modern world. I predict the new religions of the future will be based in matriarchy. Families in which motherhood is the backbone of family, families structures without marriage. Just watch and see! A revolution is approaching, and it begins with family.
Yep. From the "alien" representing the Beast, and Chris being Ralph, Zac being Jack, and Richard being the pilot. Chris is named the leader by vote (just like Ralph was on the island), but everyone turns on him and goes to Zac's side because they want to have fun instead of working hard to survive. Even Phoebe starts ranting at the group and gets killed just like Piggy did. This is nearly a scene by scene copy. The only thing missing is the conch and them being rescued by an adult at the end.
So basically this is Lord Of The Flies but in space played like Among Us. Sad nobody questioned Zack at all. When saying they should fix the surveillance, he's against it. Then he declares an alien and himself leader. And just when the evidence is shown that he killed their only parent, suddenly he changes the subject to the alien they proved was fake.

I'm pretty sure that's the idea behind Zach, the moment all these new emotions that were surpressed came up. He had no experience on how to handle them, leading to the rest of the movie.

Yup. Even if the kids hadn't figured out what the Blue was doing to them, there was always a chance that the ability to manufacture it could be compromised. Frankly they got off easy with only 3 people dead, a single misplaced shot could have ruptured a vital system and doomed the entire mission.
I honestly believe that if there had been a lot more honesty on the front end about what the blue stuff does this plot wouldn’t have happened. Kind of how it is for most dramatic plots now that I really think about it

But if they knew about it they would get curious and curiosity can be realy really bad depending on the situation. Imagine if they never would have found out about the drug they got. Pretty sure everything maybe would have normal till the end. You either have two option:
Option number 1 is to never tell them the truth and try everthing possible so they dont find it out and get to curious to the point that they missbehave or:
Option 2, that would be your approach to tell them everything and hope they understand it.

It just goes to show how one person, not in control of their emotions, can be extremely distractive and how other ppl, who are weak willed, will Always follow a stronger personality. How many times have we seen this happen irl? Esp in politics (both sides)? Extremists are always dangerous and narcissistic ppl.
Exactly...like unhinged Biden administration bent on destruction and replacing us with criminals!
I never understand how extremists get so many people rallied behind them. Whenever I see an extremist I go in the opposite direction. It's like a gigantic red flag.
Finally someone who gets the message - it scares me how much people in the comments section don't find the Zack part of the movie mirroring the destructive ideologies in the real world.

I agree with you fully.
Remember the French Revolution with Robespierre and the Jacobins? That's an example of a real extremist. It's like a double-edged sword.

Yeah basically
The main issue is the lack of redundancy just having one adult supervising.
They should have a crew of at least 5 or 6 minimum to accompany the children.
It doesn't make any sense to not have adults for the children to emulate, but there is a reason: This movie is a complete rip-off of Lord of the Flies, so it has to be free of adults to drive the plot.
also, to only use the blue juice when something scary is happening, because i guess all those suppressed emotions and feelings come out like a volcano, and thats why there is lots of violence and lying, because there was basically no adults to teach them correct values
This is the PERFECT way to watch a movie. Story telling at its best!
This movie is exactly why you don't send children and or teens on critical life saving missions. There needs to be a clear chain of command.

But it's not.' They should've been better conditioned if the adult had admitted from the start what the blue thing was used for and it was completely normal to take it because they had to be controlled, maybe, it would have work.
Like saying to them every day: "Continue to take this thing or this mission won't succeed."
Being raised only for this mission, this would've maybe put some kind of pressure.
But you're not wrong anyway - he should just have told them anyway as soon as they left our solar system. @@JosedeJezeus Also an extinction event is very possible realistically. If human kind is on the verge of extinction then yeah I can see tribalism happen only to protect the children and women.
@@Melodyofthesea78 i think you should do more research on our history of matriarchy.
Human beings evolved to love in Matriarchal tribes. Humans have existed for at least 200,000 years, but marriage only became a practice a few thousand years ago, and look at the dysfunctional world it has created.
Humans evolved in tribes.
“they think the alien is living in one of the members and they need to kill it” My guy this is literally Amongus the movie lol
As I read this comment, I saw someone vent
Amogus 📮
Nah, that's The Thing, where the "impostor" is real. This is Lord of the Flies, where they just think there's an "impostor".
Literally what I was thinking.
Medbay, one of them has an alien inside of them, people literally crawling through the vents lol. Zac even got ejected.
Amogus ooga booga
Sounds like a cinematic "Lord of the Flies" set in space.
Because it is
I was thinking the same thing
You beat me to it!
Bingo 👍
Zac is a menace. Always isolate the infection
The children studying on computers looked like the clones studying on KAMINO
Ah Kamino
A man of culture I see
Ah the Polynesian Spa
bro i thought the EXACT same thing
They technically are
So basically this is Lord Of The Flies but in space played like Among Us.
Sad nobody questioned Zack at all. When saying they should fix the surveillance, he's against it. Then he declares an alien and himself leader. And just when the evidence is shown that he killed their only parent, suddenly he changes the subject to the alien they proved was fake.
Just like our politicians
Yeah those kids were tech smart, but otherwise very dumb. I was also really surprised how none of them felt remorse, guilt, or sadness after all of the deaths and murder of people they’ve know since the day they were born. Especially since their emotions were no longer suppressed at that point.
@@ulliquarahyuga7534 It's just lazy writing tbh
I feel like the whole problem could have been avoided if the blue liquid isn’t colored blue. Therefore the MC would have never expected the source of the unidentified part the AI detected in the plants.

I feel like all of them continuing to be docile would have caused different and more permanent problems.
@@nathanwhiting5475 True, their docility could have been a threat to their survival in a new world.
yeah they could've mix it with their food
@@chocmilk10 i think the plan contains when they should stop the blue liquid consumption. it's just they ended it early themshelf and grow less docile without any supervisor like richard.
Phoebe starts crying.
As much as I understand wanting to avoid dealing with teenage hormones, I assume removing them away is also taking away their ability to live with them and taking away crucial mental, physical, and emotional development.
I'm pretty sure that's the idea behind Zach, the moment all these new emotions that were surpressed came up. He had no experience on how to handle them, leading to the rest of the movie.
I think that was the idea though. They weren't really people anymore. They were crew members designed to live and die on the ship to get it to its destination. I imagine them not taking the blue stuff anymore wans't part of the plan.
It’s ridiculous how u didn’t realize that as soon as they stopped taking the blue stuff, that’s when everything went wrong. It’s sad how u can have all the evidence u need and still don’t get it. How do people be so fucking stupid. You are the perfect example of why none of them should have stopped drinking the blue stuff. Some people just be way too stupid to think for themselves.
It don’t matter they going to die on the ship
Yup. Even if the kids hadn't figured out what the Blue was doing to them, there was always a chance that the ability to manufacture it could be compromised. Frankly they got off easy with only 3 people dead, a single misplaced shot could have ruptured a vital system and doomed the entire mission.
This is nothing but *_"Lord of the Flies"_* on a Spaceship.
thanks Captain Obvious.
that was my first thought from the title

Thanks for the break down.
I honestly believe that if there had been a lot more honesty on the front end about what the blue stuff does this plot wouldn’t have happened. Kind of how it is for most dramatic plots now that I really think about it
Or maybe if they told them that the blue stuff held an important, life-necessary nutrient that they absolutely required.
Literally anything BUT leaving it for someone to figure out on their own.
YES! Exactly! And make sure there actually is some sort of nutrient in there so when someone inevitably finds out they just see it and just sort of dismiss the worry.
Exactly! They even raised the kids from birth for the mission... like just indoctrinate them.
@@SacredDaturaa lmaoo “like just indoctrinate them” 🤣🤣

I hate how he straight up executes people and everyone else who is armed to teeth is like "yeah, I think this was really necessary. Lets follow his wise leadership"
Yeap DONALD J. TRUMP.
@Beyond Reality Hitler is bad in today standard but back then the Allies are not much better. In Asian history, they are just evil colonizers ( Britain, France, etc..)
Well they no longer had a leader and Zac didn't establish a second in command or an ideology that lived outside of himself, he was just going awry, being an ass, falling to his most negative impulses etc and the children were use to just listening to someone, the older man had long died so it makes sense
