- The Renegade is the latest compact crossover from Jeep. This small SUV is based on the Fiat 500 X platform but is full of Jeep touches. The Jeep Renegade might be considered a subcompact SUV or crossover but it has a big Jeep personalty including off-road capability thanks to several AWD or 4X4 systems. All wheel drive is prefect for Canadian winter driving.
Competitors to the Jeep Renegade are the Honda HR-V, Subaru Crosstrek, Jeep Renegade, Jeep Patriot, Ford Escape, Jeep Compass, Honda HR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mazda CX-3, Fiat 500X, Chevy Trax, Chevrolet Trax, Nissan Rogue, Nissan Juke, Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-3, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Subaru Forester, Mini Countryman, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Buick Encore, Volkswagen Tiguan, VW Tiguan, BMW X1, Audi Q3, BMW X3, Chevy Equinox, Chevy Trax, Dodge Journey, Fiat 500X, Fiat 500, Ford Escape, Mazda5, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Juke, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4,

Canadian Car Review
I am so IN LOVE.
A buddy of mine works on pipeline and uses his truck for his daily work off-road. He has ordered a new Renegade because he wants to reduce the wear and tear on his F150 Harley Davidson. He figures this is off-road capable and will save money on fuel. Probably one of the few Renegades that will actually end up with true off-road duties.
He is going to pay over 30K for this junk ? He COULD buy a Nissan AWD Juke for 23K or Nissan Rouge AWD for 26K how about a Toyota Rav 4 - 26K or Honda CRV 26K ........ Holy crap there are so many better vehicles out there for less money.
Redneck Garage You're making comparisons that are not fair. None of vehicles you mentioned have low range as an option. Neither do they have skid plates or are intended to go anywhere but on a dirt road as far as off road is considered. Comparatively equipped the Renegade is far cheaper than $30,000. Now, if you option it up to a Trailhawk, that's when you can get upwards of that price point. Facts vs. bias. Perhaps before you judge the Renagade, you should learn a few of them.
Hell No! Get an older jeep (1941-2006). they are much better than this ugly fiat shit.
Redneck Garage my trailhawk pulled my mothers Rav out of the mud on our way to camp last spring. We waited for my brother to come up. He was 2 hours late. My father pulled my brothers rouge out with his truck. The same mud I didn't even notice going through. How do people come to their ridiculous conclusions? Morons
After checking them both out, I bought the Subaru Crosstrek. Better gas mileage and since it's for my teenage daughters to drive to school here in Alaska, it simply had much more of the "wow factor" in their eyes.
Steve Johnson subaru is far more reliable than any jeep, subaru has the best awd and is the safest on slippery roads
@@guyproulx1660 Well i gues it's all a mather of taste. If i had the money i'd go for the top of the line; Jeep Rubicon.I had a 1980 FJ-40 Toyota Land Cruiser (wich they don't export no more unfortunately!) and this thing was built like a tank, plus it was reliable. The best vehicle that i had!
Those wheels look like a direct copy of the Subaru XV Crosstrek
I stopped smoking 1 years ago for payed de new car. I ordered a black Renegade Limited with electric MySky. The waiting time is 2 to 3 months here at Joliette near Montreal. I Decided to continue with the smaller Jeeps. Awsome baby jeep!
+Dany Rivard Marchionne has not stopped it took even the Ferrari ,the whole factory
such a neat little car.
Really a Nice car
Not a big fan only looks but it's ok I'm more of a Mazda fan anyways... Looking forward to your cx3 review
The 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk SUV has a recurring
power seat problem that prevents the use of the 8-way and lumbar functions. The
problem causes the driver seat to freeze and lock into a position on the seat
floor tracks. This could create a serious
problem in the event of an emergency. The dealer service department is
clueless on fixing the problem.
There is a replacement for Patriot/Compass in the works. It should debut next year. It will be a single vehicle instead of splitting the market like they do now. I would expect it to be more of a junior Grand Cherokee in styling. That will leave the Renegade to handle the junior Wrangler duties.
The renegade looks nice. But the recent issues with the 9-speed is one that buyers should really think about. It's in a hot segment so it's sure to sell. I wouldn't be surprised if the next wrangler was just an xl version of this
Of course! Besides it's not like Jeep is the only one using the transmission.
40 years passed, and Fiat finally made a Lada Niva.
Best review!! Thanks guys. 🤗
Are the stock all terrain tires used in this review? Trying to figure out if I need to invest in actual winter tires. Just bought a 2015 Trailhawk. Loving it so far!
Can you clarify, I really don't like the 500L and this Renegade is similar in the looks department, though I understand it has different underpinnings. I absolutely LOVE the looks of the 500X, could you confirm that the 500X shares more w this model?
Price difference between Sport & North is around $6000 difference. Huge.
But adding 4x4 & automatic to both and the difference is only $1500 or so only.
What's up with that?
I like my 2018 6spd 4x4 1.4 turbo sport I like it because it’s different I’m not a fan of the style most suvs have now days.
In the fall of 2017 I purchased a new 2017 Jeep Renegade from a dealer in Anchorage Alaska. I live in a remote Alaskan town with the closest mechanic over 100 miles away - in Canada. I made it clear to the dealer I needed a reliable, sturdy vehicle. The car was fine until the temperature dropped below 20F then it would start - and immediately stall with a noticeable smell of gas. I called the dealer and he recommended using Heet and blamed the bad gas in the town. Heet did nothing and no other car is having the same problem. The dealer is over 700 miles away and I can't have the car towed back. There's no one to work on it here and the dealer is unwilling to do anything more. The car is a princess car - it'll only run if it's warm and sunny. Which means i'm walking to work at 20 below. Moral is don't buy Jeep and don't buy a Jeep Renegade. As soon as possible I'm taking it to another town to trade it in for a Japanese or Korean car. Something reliable.
4WD not AWD. dude.
gosh.
can someone explain what a/c bypass feature is for on jeeps? you can only have it selected without AC so its not to bypass the compressor
Nice looking vehicle. Should sell very well here in Canada. Another SUV for the woman. Won't sell to the men.
Yea, but when you look at it does it really look like a Jeep?
zzubuzz hell no
1:35 Are you kidding? it looks like a fricken alienship!!!! that aint no jeep, thats a SHIAT
This video is way too short
Nice interior. Exterior, not so much.
LOL 3:20 fog light burnt out?
+jeremypenuta When you turn the vehicle while the fog lights are off, the fog will turn on in the direction of the turn for better lighting. This can be turned on or off. Nothing burnt out here.
Thanks for the fact
Still not convinced about Fiat. There are a lot of great proven small SUV's on the market that you don't need to take a chance with Fiat until they have some real history behind them. Interior looks interesting; exterior...not so sure.
lol at one fog light not working.
+MotoGuide When you turn the vehicle while the fog lights are off, the fog will turn on in the direction of the turn for better lighting. This can be turned on or off. Nothing burnt out here.
Thats an excellent feature!
I think this thing will end up like the compass and patriot. No resale and noone wants them
2015 Jeep RENEGADE, not RENAGADE !!!
Marc Doiron Fixed, thanks for pointing that out. Typing too fast...
Motormouth Canada no one is perfect
That is one ugly car. A mish-mash of curves that don't gel properly.
Ugly car!
