Hey Pushpinder ! u r doing gr8 work by uploading videos for GMAT/GRE/CAT aspirants ! My question to u is - tell the trick to solve the problem on - If the price of commodity increases by R% then the reduction in consumption so as not to increase/ decrease the expenditure ..... Acording to some buks, formula is {R/(100+R)}*100 % AND {R/(100-R)}*100 % resp.... How the result izz formed ???
How to Calculate Here are two ways to calculate a percentage change, use whichever method you prefer: Method 1 Step 1: Calculate the change (subtract old value from the new value) Step 2: Divide that change by the old value (you will get a decimal number) Step 3: Convert that to a percentage (by multiplying by 100 and adding a "%" sign) Note: if the new value is greater then the old value, it is a percentage increase, otherwise it is a decrease. Method 2 Step 1: Divide the New Value by the Old Value (you will get a decimal number) Step 2: Convert that to a percentage (by multiplying by 100 and adding a "%" sign) Step 3: Subtract 100% from that Note: if the result is positive it is a percentage increase, if negative, just remove the minus sign and call it a decrease.

31:40 I've done this equation in the following way(Please tell me if i'm wrong) A=(1+1/5)B A=(6/5)B So to find the percent to decrease B B=(5/6)A B=(1-1/6)A 1/6= 16.66
B is the initial value. For percentage change, the formula is [Final value - Initial value] / Initial Value. The square brackets [ ] mean absolute values. So [5/6B(final value) - B(Initial value)] / B (initial value) is same as [Initial value - final value] /initial value.

Sakshi Gaur , There is no fixed base, for both the companies, there cant be any fixed answer, , I mean according to the question, x(10/100 + 1) + y(20/100 +1) = 118/100, I mean what are the values of x, and y, taking 100 as base for both the conditions wont work, you have to fix different bases so that ultimately the combined enhancement of 110x% + 120y% = 118% more from x + y., if x and y are not fixed, there cant be a fixed answer to it., allegation concept wise, 2/10, for mining and 8/10 for manufacture, then 8/10 for mining, and vice versa, how come 50% an increase..?

How to Calculate
Here are two ways to calculate a percentage change, use whichever method you prefer:
Method 1
Step 1: Calculate the change (subtract old value from the new value)
Step 2: Divide that change by the old value (you will get a decimal number)
Step 3: Convert that to a percentage (by multiplying by 100 and adding a "%" sign)
Note: if the new value is greater then the old value, it is a percentage increase, otherwise it is a decrease.
Method 2
Step 1: Divide the New Value by the Old Value (you will get a decimal number)
Step 2: Convert that to a percentage (by multiplying by 100 and adding a "%" sign)
Step 3: Subtract 100% from that
Note: if the result is positive it is a percentage increase, if negative, just remove the minus sign and call it a decrease.

I've done this equation in the following way(Please tell me if i'm wrong)
A=(1+1/5)B
A=(6/5)B
So to find the percent to decrease B
B=(5/6)A
B=(1-1/6)A
1/6= 16.66
can u pls make a video on compound interst
Thanks For This
tanq u for providing such a excellent video
For that equations question ,for fv-iv =B-5/6B=B/6, then how can u consider the iv as B? That step totally confusing?could anyone explain it?
yes I am having the same doubt . can anyone pls explain it?
B is the initial value. For percentage change, the formula is [Final value - Initial value] / Initial Value. The square brackets [ ] mean absolute values. So [5/6B(final value) - B(Initial value)] / B (initial value) is same as [Initial value - final value] /initial value.

Sakshi Gaur
mining and manufacturing industries are in the ratio of 1:4
Using the mixtures we will get the ans as 50
