i missed to subscribe earlier and all this while i was searching your videos but could not locate. now I'm so happy that i Finally found you. Thanks a lot for best videos looking forward to learn from you. love your videos. Thanks.
after seeing your videos , i can feel the enough confidence to crack CAT 2013 ... thank you so much SIR.... one of the best lectures i found on you tube and what i like about you is that throughout your 45min video , intensity of your voice remains constant which is not so often in other's uploaders......... waiting for your other videos too
All of your lecture series are very good. And you have kept the focus on concept, time saving and creative ideas, which is a complete package in itself. This is what we exactly want. Thank you.
watching this video will be the best utilization of time if you want to understand the concepts very clearly for competitive exams. thank you sir for providing most difficult part of mathematics in such a simple way😊
Actually I had a fear for probability since plus 2.But I dared to take a chance for all the basics and it was the very 1st video I saw. And trust me not a single instance where I felt any single doubt. thanks a bunch
thank you very much for the detailed explnation;; i am gng to write gre ; and i had trouble with these ...nw every thng cleared.and all set to write the exam thank you.,. great applaud to you....CRYSTAL CLEAR
Too good,PUSHPINDER SIR! that "exactly two" questions, .. i mean who are those minds behind to come up with these formulas, god bless them, though probability not my personal favourite, but you gave me the concepts, thank you.!
Dwaipayan Dutta Roy ,SIR.., in the last question, what is the discerning factor, that I' ll not add the case difference, of two of them passing and the one who has not passed ! I mean A*B*C=0.046, AND not A*B+C=0.5, is it the word independently @ Perfect scores..?
really you are such very good person........... thank you so much ........ you rally doing a great work ...........this video is really awesome.........
Hello, Thank you so much for this video, I HATE maths, but the way you explained it made it so much interesting. I dint understand the coin problem but I hope to understand the same in other video.
in the second last question on what is the probability that exactly one of them hits the target, why can't we simply add all the three independent probabilities of hitting the target i.e (1/3)+(1/4)+(1/5)?
The long question second to the end. I wanted to see if my answers were right. Was the probability of one target .43? Then the probability of two targets .15?
well in the question about municipal bonds and oil stocks, you have subtracted 7% from 35% however the question appears to me like 35% in MB (only) 18% in oil stocks (only) and 7% in both (MB & Oil stocks).
I came across a question in which its asking about probability of 1 digit number , among 0,1,2,3,4,5 , please tell me 0 is to be counted as a one digit number or not while forming sample space .
For the question where you ask "what is the probability that exactly two of them hit the target?", can you do: 1- P(that exactly one of them hits) ? or would this be wrong?
It would be wrong...because when we take 1-P(at least one of them hits) we take into account that a)two of them hit the target b)all three of them hit the target To get the right answer ,you subtract the answer u obtained with P(all of them hit the target )...I.e.1/60
Thank you sooo much Mr. Gill, I genuinely cannot thank you enough! You are one of the best teachers of the subject!
As a math challenged person, this was a great straight forward review. Thanks, I take my GRE this coming thursday....

Very Informative. Thanks a lot
@Nipun Rohatgi: when AND is there you have to multiply. and when OR is there you have to add. Hope its clear now.
great video sir.
explained very easily
thanks a lot
upto the concept . This video is full of examples about daily life and really complex probability is easier by watching this.
AWSOME SIR.. OWE YOU A LOT FOR THIS

U saved my life sir thankq very much
Great one. Thank you so much
in 2nd last slide in 1st problem can't we solve like 1- p(a) * p(b) * p(c) but by doing it i am getting answer 59/60
Mr. Gill at 40:00 the answer to the second question is 0.4 or 4/10 and not 1/60.
no answer is 1/60 can u explain how it is 0.4
great video, nicely explained and very helpful in practice

Hello,
Thank you so much for this video, I HATE maths, but the way you explained it made it so much interesting.
I dint understand the coin problem but I hope to understand the same in other video.
Thank you for the interest.
Very nicely explained! The only one thing is - please evEnt. This mistake makes it hard to concentrate on the material.

Thanks sir, really a helpful video.
Thank you for the feedback!
The long question second to the end. I wanted to see if my answers were right. Was the probability of one target .43? Then the probability of two targets .15?
well in the question about municipal bonds and oil stocks, you have subtracted 7% from 35% however the question appears to me like 35% in MB (only) 18% in oil stocks (only) and 7% in both (MB & Oil stocks).
well then the question appears wrongly to you.
I came across a question in which its asking about probability of 1 digit number , among 0,1,2,3,4,5 , please tell me 0 is to be counted as a one digit number or not while forming sample space .
just one question still not clear when to multiply and when to add in the complicated situations?
Having a samosa probability is 1, always :D
I wish my samosa probability were 1.
Lame...😒
The video is fabulous, quite frankly. But i could not understand the (1- not happening case), but yeah still a fantastic effort from your end.
Veryy good video
For the question where you ask "what is the probability that exactly two of them hit the target?", can you do: 1- P(that exactly one of them hits) ? or would this be wrong?
It would be wrong...because when we take 1-P(at least one of them hits) we take into account that
a)two of them hit the target
b)all three of them hit the target
To get the right answer ,you subtract the answer u obtained with P(all of them hit the target )...I.e.1/60
This video really helped me 👍 tq
Sir , I have a doubt in probability that when are we suppossed to add and when do we have to multiply.. plz help
Excelente!!! Muchas gracias. Saludos desde Quito, Ecuador
