This is a comprehensive beginner's guide to learning how to play blackjack. I'll explain the rules of blackjack along with the different card values and how they should be played throughout the game. You will learn what calls you should make in the game and how those calls are played out.
The goal in a game of blackjack is to have two or more cards where the numerical value meets or is less than 21, while still having a higher value than the dealer. In this fun casino game, players compete against the dealer. When the dealer busts, all players win.
I will play through a sample game of blackjack so that you can learn how the game is played and gain a strong understanding of the card values and the choices you are set up against. In the different scenarios played out, you will learn when to stay, when to hit, and when to double down and double your bet.

This video dates back to early 2020 but we have just re-uploaded it after discovering some major audio issues in the previous upload, most likely due to a youtube glitch. Thanks for understanding!
Very understandable. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad it helped
Thanks. Always seems difficult but practice.
You can do it!
I never play BJ at the casino. Lets say you start with 100$ and end up with 400$ in a relatively short amount of time and decide thats enough. How do you leave the table properly? How do you let the dealer/players know that you are done? Is there a hand gesture or something you say? I know this is a dumb question but I dont want to screw up or use poor ettiquette.
It's actually really simple, just calmly grab your chips, sit up and leave. Of course, in-between hands and not in the middle of one. If you don't place a starting chip as a bet in the circle, it means you don't want to play the next hand (we don't have a BJ table in the video, but in a Casino it's very clearly there). It's always polite to say thank you / goodbye to the dealer, but nobody will get offended if you don't. Hope that helps!
Quick question, I was under the impression that the dealer must hit if it has a total card value of 16 or lower, and stay once it gets to 17 or higher. I see in the first example, the dealer had 18, and then took another card then busted at 26. From my understanding, the dealer had to stay at 18. Did the rules change in recent years, or does that rule apply to certain casinos/areas?
You're right. This was actually an early video (re-uploaded), where we unfortunately glossed over some rules. The point was to hypothetically see what the next card would have been.
@@AllAmericanCasinoGuide I watched a newer video where the 'correct rules' were mentioned. Thanks for getting back and clarifying. :-D
The math class was probably statistics at Harvard, but without Kevin Spacey.
hahahahha
Thanks
No problem
At Casinos the dealer gives everyone at the table one card once then the second card once by the way. Not dealing each person two cards at the same time.
Mistakes were made and it was a rather crude demo, 1st video jitters I guess.
@@AllAmericanCasinoGuide i hope you can make a video where you have a couple people playing for demonstration purposes.
4:28 you hit a hard 18? Are you crazy? Many people don't even hit soft 18
That was a demo hand, I was trying to make the viewer feel like a winner!
