Wait until you hear "Wheel In the Sky" live from 1980 Osaka Japan concert!!! Steves' solo intro into the song is amazing which is why he is known as The Voice! The interaction he has with the crowd is something you don't see any more! Love that you appreciate Journey the way so many of us do that had the honor of growing up on their music! Love from Texas
Wheel in the Sky is an encore for this Houston concert. But they play it much faster then earlier versions and I don't like it as much. His intro at Osaka for this song is amazing.
Where Were You is one of my favorites from this concert, then of course Lights/Stay Awhile and Escape. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong! Steve Perry has the Best voice and sings with so much passion. You can literally feel it when he sings.
Perry has amazing energy! And this one the final song of the concert!!! He’s absolutely incredible!!! Check out “Where Were You” from this concert. GREAT drum solo by Steve Smith!!!! Also, “Who’s Crying Now”… awesome guitar solo by Neal Schon!!!!
This was the encore during this tour, the studio recording was slightly slower and harmonizing was heard more. Please check out Patiently, 1st song written by Perry and Schon, also People and Places. You are correct in picking up on Steve Perry's showmanship skills, he was born for that spot
I absolutely love when you react to Journey. You look so happy and enjoying the performance. Please do the entire songs in this concert. The joy on your face is awesome
One of my favorites by Journey!! The song was featured in the musical “Rock Of Ages” with other rock classics. According to Steve Perry, the song was heavily influenced by Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy particularly by bassist, Phil Lynott. In 1979, Journey used to tour with Thin Izzy.
This is one of those "the studio version is better" songs (imo). Sounding out of breathe is distracting. Listen to the Official Video - 1980 version, even if it's on your own time. You'll see the difference.
@Stevenrayperry I truly love you and hope you are doing well. Iam lonely and feeling better for now. I hope this not a scammer but who knows.I don't think Steve Perry really would take the time to commit to me.🥰😘💜💋🦋
Well if you think that was crazy, of him running around. Then you MUST check out ...' Keep On Running, Dead Or Alive, Where Were You and Escape' from this Houston concert!!!
This up tempo version was done live at this concert for the fans, but in other versions it's still at a great rock tempo but the vocals were much more emotionally charged, beautiful vocals. They don't have a bad song. Steve is a phenom, and the band is always great, they've said that because Steve's vocal range was so powerful they were all able to be better at what they did. Amazing chemistry!
you are right . this song is being played to fast if you heard thev slower vershion you would see that it is better . good hearing and knowing . you have good job
The voice legend baby no body can sing like Mr perry anymore the best fantastic singer ever 💯 Soo sweet smooth sounds already definitely 💯💯💯🎤🎤🎤🎵🎵🎵❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your comments about running around on the stage remind me of the live "Life During Wartime" by the Talking Heads. You've probably seen that by now, but if you haven't ... the Talking Heads are a great band.
Anything from this concert video is great. Another great live video is Girl Can't Help it. Line up is a little different but Steve Perry still shines through.
Although I saw them on this tour, and Frontiers too, had the album I most remember this song from "Caddyshack". Here's the clip ruclips.net/video/3YTizJcKUlE/видео.html Stone in Love, Lovin, Touchin' Squeezin' were great live. Any song from this show, take your pick!
That was a great show. I saw that tour in Boston and it was pretty incredible. I highly recommend you check out the song Escape from this same tour. It's a real banger, and it really shows the talent of all the band members, especially the drummer. I think you'll really like it.
The tempo from the this live version is a faster tempo than the studio version. Wheel in the sky is also faster and extended at this concert. Didn’t see them in Huston but they made their way to Hampton and it was awesome….opening with Loverboy and then Journey…what a night…
Still They Ride, live in Tokyo. Lights and Stay Awhile live in Osaka, Just the Same Way, or Wheel in the Sky live in Osaka, I really think you will enjoy these, but another thing is I have a hard time seeing the video it cuts them off, its like you are more into the screen or something then it is. make it smaller, pull you back some. I love your reactions to Journey.
Unglaublich, Steve Perry verblüfft immer wieder aufs neue.
Always been something magical about Journey. Since most everyone knows their usual hits, might I suggest their amazing deep cuts : The Party's Over and Still They Ride.
Both of those are great choices! Party’s Over (Hopelessly in love) is super catchy and Still They Ride is baiting and introspective. Highly recommended!!!
this was my first concert in high school. It was a few days in front or back of that show. On the floor with a girl on my shoulders for a while. Welcome to REAL music. REAL musicians with NO AUTOTUNE computer crap. MOTHER FATHER shows Steve's HIGH range at the end. Any Way You Want It. The guitarist played with Santana when he was 15-16.
And this is the 2nd song of the encore and he still has that voice and energy!!!
The king 👑
Heaven forbid Steve not leave every last bit of energy out there. That's what makes him a great performer as well as a great singer.

Osaka's "Wheel in the Sky" is the best one ever!!❤🔥🔥🔥
Definitely another song from this! Who’s Crying Now? … one of their best 🔥
The guitar solo in Who's Crying Now is insane!
I've always loved that song!
Who's Crying Now, Stone In Love, Wheel In The Sky, Loving Touching Squeezing are all great choices from this concert!!
DITTO 😊
The studio version isn’t this fast. But it is a very fun song…meant to be played by “turn it up”…great song.
Steve Perry the only real voice of journey..nobody can replace him..he Is the best Malé voice ever no doubt about MR STEVE PERRY
If you haven’t heard his album “Traces” from 2018, you’d find that Perry still has the pipes!
Where Were You is one of my favorites from this concert, then of course Lights/Stay Awhile and Escape. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong! Steve Perry has the Best voice and sings with so much passion. You can literally feel it when he sings.

🔥😎 Even more impressive that was the last song of the night and he still sounds amazing.
I absolutely love when you react to Journey. You look so happy and enjoying the performance. Please do the entire songs in this concert. The joy on your face is awesome

They are singing it faster than the original recording.
He’s energetic in a lot of his concerts! Seen them in Detroit in 79’ just awesome!!
Not sure why they sped this up live. Different vibe than the studio version.
The song is not this fast as recorded lol. Who's Crying Now or Lights/Stay Awhile, Escape, Keep on Running, In the Line of Fire.
I can’t believe this peaked at # 23 ?
This is faster than the studio version
Loving touching and squeezing. Lights are good
I had to hit my inhaler twice
This is one of those "the studio version is better" songs (imo). Sounding out of breathe is distracting. Listen to the Official Video - 1980 version, even if it's on your own time. You'll see the difference.
Great reaction. For more of that energy from that show, try Escape and Keep on Runnin'
A wee bit faster than the studio version. I recently downloaded this concert since I was there and it means a lot to me.
They amped the pace of the song up here. The studio version is a little slower and better.
This is a sped up version of the studio version. Still good though.
Steve Perry is the best vocalist and a great entertainer. I Love Me some Steve Perry then and now.🥰😘💜💋🦋
@Stevenrayperry I truly love you and hope you are doing well. Iam lonely and feeling better for now. I hope this not a scammer but who knows.I don't think Steve Perry really would take the time to commit to me.🥰😘💜💋🦋
This is why they call Steve Perry "The Voice"! My favorite band and he is the best singer of all time imho
I'm in my early 70s so you can understand that I grew up with the best music. The best singers. No one today can compete.
You need to react to “Send Her My Love”. Love this band and I really love Steve Perry!
They were awesome I miss him 😢
"Who's Crying Now" is easily the next song from this concert. A masterpiece
Another from this show: Stone in Love 🔥🔥🔥🔥
They call Steve Perry "the voice" for a reason.
I'll request "Still They Ride." and "Separate Ways," that comes later.
"Who's Cryin' Now" is a must!!
A little faster tempo than the studio version. I like the slower one.
Love your reaction! This is faster than the original version..check it out 😉
Steve's vocal chords were crafted by god..
They are playing it a faster beat than normal. I think Steve has never sat still, he seems like high energy
you are right . this song is being played to fast if you heard thev slower vershion you would see that it is better . good hearing and knowing . you have good job
Oh shoot forgot to ask you to play Stone in Love
Never have liked LIVE albums. The Studio version was WAY better.
Stone In Love from this concert is one of my favorites, but not played often enough
You've probably seen that by now, but if you haven't ... the Talking Heads are a great band.
great reaction SalvoG...this was a bit more upbeat than the studio version...give it a listen!! 😊 have a good weekend!
Anything from this concert video is great. Another great live video is Girl Can't Help it. Line up is a little different but Steve Perry still shines through.
Do Night Ranger’s 1985 live, Don’t tell me you love me
1 of the best live acts ever i think this is a bit up tempo from the studio version
Journey has said that the sound they profuce on the album is to be delivered on stage also.
In short.. THE SAME...😁 IF NOT BETTER ON STAGE...
From this concert "Loving Touching Squeezing” is a must along with “Open Arms"
I saw them in concert back I 1979. Steve Perry was running all over the stage the whole concert. And they sounded fantastic
And those Arena Rock Jeans that I’m pretty sure inspired the wardrobe for Billy on Stranger Things 🍑😅
Amazing band. Amazing show. Great video. Keep going because I’m sure by now you know, the list is long. 🤘🏼
The song is fire, the performance is top notch! Like from me for Journey!
One and only Steve Perry. His unique vocals and energy. After he left Journey was never the same
You really should do the Official Video 1980 of "Anyway You Want It. " That is AWESOME. The BEST version.❤🔥🔥🔥
You have to listen to SEPARATE WAYS but I think the studio or video version is best.
Although I saw them on this tour, and Frontiers too, had the album I most remember this song from "Caddyshack".
Here's the clip
ruclips.net/video/3YTizJcKUlE/видео.html
Stone in Love, Lovin, Touchin' Squeezin' were great live. Any song from this show, take your pick!
Wheel In The Sky from this concert is also FANTASTIC!
Whatever you do don't split up "Feeling That Way/Anytime." The pause between the two songs is so brief radio stations just let Anytime play on.
I prefer the studio version that was the hit single. Singing is so much clearer on it. This is super fast.
The studio version is great too, give it a spin, you'll love.
Please please please check out Walks Like a Lady live in Osaka also Wheel in the Sky same concert
That was a great show. I saw that tour in Boston and it was pretty incredible. I highly recommend you check out the song Escape from this same tour. It's a real banger, and it really shows the talent of all the band members, especially the drummer. I think you'll really like it.
Steve perry needing help uh hell no
The tempo from the this live version is a faster tempo than the studio version. Wheel in the sky is also faster and extended at this concert. Didn’t see them in Huston but they made their way to Hampton and it was awesome….opening with Loverboy and then Journey…what a night…
STONE IN LOVE! - (Album Version) is Journey at it's MOST Rockin!!
Wheel in the Sky pls!! ❤🔥
Who's crying now!
They're playing this WAY faster than it was recorded. Nothing like wanting to get through a song at a concert! LMAO
I caught Journey in July of 1980 when they toured for the Departure album at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Still remember having a good time!
Unglaublich, Steve Perry verblüfft immer wieder aufs neue. Ob rockig oder soft, er kanns! die Band in dieser Besetzung war der Hammer, und Steve nebenbei sehr sexy....
Bands wie Journey, Dire Streets oder George Michael waren für mich live immer besser alls im studio.
Einfach Talent pur, ohne schnickschnack
Danke für die tolle Reaction
Foolish Heart
Amazing performance especially at the end of the concert, and can still hold a note.
The voice
"Lights" Official Video 1978🔥🔥🔥
Man and that's live........... album the same, man we have just been through a journey. Great vid.
Good morning from a cold South Africa. After all these years I still listen to Journey everyday.
Listen to Separate Ways for a real Journey banger!!
He's done a reaction to "Separate Ways." Check it out.
Amazing; but "mom" jeans everywhere!
Goddamn!! I've the 80's!!!❤
Every Journey song is awesome. There's not a bad song in their Perry era catalouge.
Wheel in the Sky and Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin are great from this show
You gotta check out KISS, another great band from the 70s and 80s primarily.
FYI - the original Album recording is not this fast.
Stone in love from that show
This whole 2 hour concert, in Houston 1981, was on tonight AXS channel
just imagine being at that concert....wow
Sounds like you are playing at 1.25.
Too Damn fast!
I grew up in the 80s and this song rocks. You need to listen to Loving, Touching Squeezing. I just subscribed so you owe me. lol
I don't like it up tempo. I prefer the album version.
This was an en core xx the "real" version is slower, but still up tempo xx it's, what I call, Steve's cheeky song xx he's just flipping awesome!!
Steve Perry has infinite breath Lord have mercy
