Does Dimash have original music that he sings or are they all covers? I’ve seen quite a few reaction channels that have other artists with amazing vocals but there’s no originality. There are 3 women who ofc I can’t remember their names, Home Free, & an acapella group.
On Steve vs Dimash… Dimash is incredible. What he can do with his voice is frankly shocking. He blows me away and has brought me to tears. However, I’m not playing his music in my car, with my son, on the beach, before my hockey games, etc. I was 15 when this song came out. And while I might love a Dimash video once in a while or might even go to one show, Journey/ Steve Perry can be a daily listen for decades. Part of the soundtrack of my life…..

Journey is one of the most amazing bands of all time, hands down.. Very few names can touch their shadow much less stand next to them. My all time favorite groove song has always been Journey's "Lights"
Did you know? Journey's "Lights" was the progenitive song that 'sparked' the action of lighting your lighter at a concert. If you'll forgive the pun. lol
Journey guitarist Neal Schon was a teenage progidy, growing up in the Bay Area. He was asked to join Santana and got to jam with the likes of Eric Clapton when they came to town.
WHEEL IN THE SKY! LIVE FROM OSAKA JAPAN 1980!!! Freddy Mercury once said Steve Perry was the best vocalist in the world in an interview! Never heard anyone say that about Dimash!
'Wheel in the sky' by Journey was the song in 1978 that broke the band huge commercially... It was written before Steve Perry (vocals) joined the band but he did the studio track and it became a massive hit. 'Lights' was another huge single from the album 'Infinity' (Journey's 4th album, their first w/ Steve Perry) and the album sold 3x platinum and transformed Journey from a cult band into an arena rock sensation. "Lovin' touchin' squeezin' " was the huge single in 1979 from the 'Evolution' album in 1979 - another 3x platinum success... It was a song Steve Perry wrote about his ex cheating on him. 'Departure' was Journey's next album in 1980... and "Any way you want it" became the big single and the album was another 3x platinum hit... An ironic title because founding Journey keyboardist Gregg Rolie departed from the band in 1981 and was replaced by keyboardist Jonathan Cain.
Steve Perry and Neal Schon (the guitarist) were amazing together. Neal would mimic Steve's voice with his guitar, and they would play off each other's abilities. Steve's voice and Neal's guitar are the most potent one-two punch in rock history, in my opinion.

Dimash is an amazing classical musician, singer, song writer with an incredible ability to replicate virtually any music he hears. What I don’t like about Dimash and other karaoke cover RUclips singers, Tommy Johansson, etc. is that they are just trying to imitate the original singers. They don’t change it up and make it their own. It’s like, “Look at me, I can sing it too.” What’s the point in that? If I want to hear the song I’ll listen to the original unless they did something with their cover version to make it different or interesting. If it’s just karaoke, I’m not interested. Plus, in Rock music most wrote their own songs. The guy, or girl, that wrote the song, made it exactly what they wanted it to be. That’s the “art” in artist. These cover singers are NOT artists. At least not in the covers that they are doing. They need to get bands, write songs, make records, and tour, etc. You can’t even buy their “music” because it’s just RUclips videos.
One thing you might want to take note of is that Journey is sort of a spin-off of Santana. The guy playing keyboards, Gregg Rolie, was the singer of some of Santana's greatest hits, such as Black Magic Woman. I believe he was 21 when he sang that. He and the lead guitarist, Neal Schon, along with Santana's road manager, left Santana and formed, what is now called Journey. (Santana's road manager became Journey's manager). Neal was actually only 15 when he joined Santana, and I believe 16, when he played on BMW. Neal and Gregg were inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame with both Journey AND Santana. To assimilate Steve into the band without too much disruption to Journey's former fans, as they were mostly an instrumental group in the beginning with some songs lead by Gregg, the manager created a space where Steve and Gregg would share vocals on several of their first songs..."Feeling That Way", "Anytime", "Just the Same Way". All great songs you might want to check out.
Listen to Wheel in the Sky. During the guitar solo, you will hear Steve take his note to God in heaven. It's in the background. Listen carefully. And yeah I suck around till the end of the video.
I loved your commentary about how Steve Perry's voice /Journey, can take you to that place in "Journey's world" encapsulated in their performances. Stayed to the end! 🥰 I've heard some Dimash music, but it doesn't touch my soul the way hearing Steve Perry/Journey or Freddie Mercury/Queen does. I was 20 when this song came out and it definitely takes me back. Picking songs from the jukebox and watching the records drop was so much fun. I still have my LP's and 45's and play them as well as cassettes and CD's. Somehow the vinyl is just more fun.
BTW, if you go back to clips from the Houston Escape tour concert, they did this as the second encore, only faster, and Steve is running around the stage like a maniac.
Another great performance by Journey is "Wheel in the Sky" from Osaka Japan the opening is jaw dropping; or "Mother, Father" from their Houston Concert.
NOW!! PLEASE react to this live in concert from the 1981Houston, Tx concert!!! The inaction between Journey and their fans for this song is amazing!!!!!
Steve's voice is a voice you can never forget. He was so awesome. This was without auto tune. This is just pure raw talent! Steve Perry's voice as far as I am concerned is the best and then Freddie Mercury. Love your reaction!
I am with you... on the Dimash phenomenon. I agree technically he is off the charts.. but not to my taste at all. I will take soooo many other artists over him any day. Like all the great vocalists such as Steve Perry.. and soooooo and toooooo many others to list them all.. but yeah.. there is a lot to be said for taste.. and that's completely ooooookay!!! 😊 Oh... and Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' was my first introduction to Journey.. and I love it!!!! I don't know if you know this, but Neil Schon the guitarist, and Gregg Rollie on the keyboards started the band after leaving the band Santana. They didn't want Steve Perry in the band, but their manager told them to have him in or he was leaving. Journey is still touring to this day, but without Steve Perry, and Steve Perry just announced that he will be going on tour the beginning of next year.❤❤ He will be singing the blues you need to check It out some of It is on RUclips Steve Perry Will be singing with the Elees it's great.❤❤❤❤❤
Journey has a huge catalog of great music and approximately 17 studio albums. Steve Perry has a distinctive vocal sound, and the rest of the band is extremely talented.
I never really looked at the lyrics ... didn't realize how naughty they are, and Steve "I'm 75 and I've still never had a bad hair day" Perry is just smouldering into the camera, shirtless . A lot of guys can hit those notes, although few do it as well, but Steve has the control and the phrasing to bring the emotion to it, and he puts it out there, every time. If you haven't checked out the Live Houston "Mother/Father" then you should. It's a tour de force, where Steve shows off his range, not only the notes, but the style, as he goes from pop to rock to soul to something more. For pure vocal beauty, I'm obsessing on "Patiently," live 1979 Windy City Comisky Park performance, where Steve puts in extra flourishes at the end. Also, if a jukebox from 1980 is an antique, does that mean you're an antique? LOL!
Listened to the end, never heard of Dimash, but I'm one of those old-timers: they're not making music like they used to. Keep my radio tuned to the soundtrack of my life: Classic Rock.
The Keyboard player is none other than Greg Rollie . He's been inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame TWICE ..Once with Santana and again with Journey
Keyboard player Greg Rolie was in the Santana "Soul Sacrifice" video you reacted to. Listen to Santana "Black Magic Woman" with Greg on lead vocals. So good! ☮️❤️🙏🏻

Journey's song Lay It Down is one that's not as well known, it's quite different then the usual sound. No other band or individual has tried to cover this song because they cannot match Steve's vocal ranges. What makes it unusual are the range of vocals that Steve slips in and out of with no effort. There are a couple videos on here where Voice coaches break down the keys he is singing in while he's singing to show the range as his voice goes up and down. It is just plain freaking amazing what he can do with that voice and it appears effortless to him

"Walks Like A Lady" is super 🔥🔥🔥!
✌️😎
I'm 72 and still have a mad crush on Steve Perry 😁
I love Journey! I remember Open Arms being the big hit on the radio. I think i was 11. Ive never eard of Dimash, but ill check it out.
80’s had the best music. We listen to everything. All the classics bands and the new artists when MTV showed music videos
Dudes who want to be sure that SHE enjoys the deed as much as HE does are not creepy.
The way you just described it. Steve really made some girl say ohhhhhhh.
Welcome to the soundtrack of my life! 🙂
BTW, if you go back to clips from the Houston Escape tour concert, they did this as the second encore, only faster, and Steve is running around the stage like a maniac.
Steve, Steve, Steve, we cannot say it enough. He is just magnificent.
No one can do it like Steve!❤
No one will ever be better than Steve Perry ! There is only one VOICE and that is his .
If you want to go down that rabbit hole check out Sweet & Simple, Where Were You, Line of Fire by Journey
Another great performance by Journey is "Wheel in the Sky" from Osaka Japan the opening is jaw dropping; or "Mother, Father" from their Houston Concert.
"Be Good To Yourself" is a banger also!
NOW!! PLEASE react to this live in concert from the 1981Houston, Tx concert!!! The inaction between Journey and their fans for this song is amazing!!!!!
This is my favorite journey song ever ❤❤❤❤
I miss it! Best thing the memories associated with it!
Steve's voice is a voice you can never forget. He was so awesome. This was without auto tune. This is just pure raw talent! Steve Perry's voice as far as I am concerned is the best and then Freddie Mercury. Love your reaction!
My favorite fun song with Steve’s solo is Strung Out.
I was there in that time, and it was the most awesome time ❤ Journey with Steve Perry forever!
Same for sure!
Cheers from Canada 🍁
The guitarist, Neil Schon, had a hit in the 80’s when he went solo. No more lies. You should listen to it.
I don't know if you know this, but Neil Schon the guitarist, and Gregg Rollie on the keyboards started the band after leaving the band Santana. They didn't want Steve Perry in the band, but their manager told them to have him in or he was leaving. Journey is still touring to this day, but without Steve Perry, and Steve Perry just announced that he will be going on tour the beginning of next year.❤❤ He will be singing the blues you need to check It out some of It is on RUclips Steve Perry Will be singing with the Elees it's great.❤❤❤❤❤
How perfect is he? Damn.
Journey is where it is at!!! Steve Perry is amazing! I love this❤
Best early song by Steve and Journey is Wheel in the Sky. Different sound and I Steve Perrys voice is next level!
You have to watch the Journey VH1 Behind the Music. It’s an awesome documentary about the ups and downs of the band. You won’t be disappointed
Teen yrs when this was out, omg the best of times, the best era ever!!
A beautiful voice is great but, the feel, emotion and band chemistry is what makes a great song.
Stone In Love is a fabulous song! Epic guitar solo!
Totally agree on Perry…Otherworldly! The voice is PERFECT! He could sing anything…
You need to peep Steve Perry's "Oh Sherri" in case you missed it !!!! 👊
Lovin' touchin' squeezin' is a great one too.
Keyboard player Greg Rolie was in the Santana "Soul Sacrifice" video you reacted to. Listen to Santana "Black Magic Woman" with Greg on lead vocals. So good! ☮️❤️🙏🏻
I was Freshman in high school when this song came out. Journey was my favorite band back then. I’m so very blessed to have grown up during this time.
Steve Perry is the VOICE!!!
You must do Wheel In The Sky and Stone In Love! The notes and his live performance while hitting those notes, wow!!!
Steve Perry's 13:28 song "Sherri" is the BOMB 💣! YOU'LL LOVE IT ❤️
Their song Loving Touching Squeezing is another good un
I was literally typing "Journey is a Journey right as u said it! 😆 But it's the absolute truth!! U should dive into more of Steve Perry's solo music! ❤ And NO, Dimash doesn't hold a candle to Steve!!
The best singer that you’ve (probably) NEVER heard is Miljenko Matijević of SteelHeart. He has a range that is unbelievable. He has, I believe, the clearest and cleanest voice, up and down the scale, in Rock history. His highs are effortless and precise. Their debut album was released in 1990 and had 2 power ballad hits, “I’ll Never Let You Go”, and “She’s Gone”, and a banger, “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You”. They were on tour performing in Denver off the momentum of their debut album, when a 1,000# lighting truss fell striking Mili on the back of the head and smashing his face into the stage floor, nearly taking his life. He had a broken nose, broken jaw, and a broken cheekbone, the hardest bone in the human body, and traumatic brain injuries. This screeched their career to a halt. In 2001 Miljenko Matijević was the vocalist for Mark Wahlberg’s character in the movie Rockstar in the fictional band Steel Dragon.

WHEEL IN THE SKY
Journey is so good! Look at the names of their albums.. departure, frontiers, captured, escape... he just hits the notes so easily
It is just plain freaking amazing what he can do with that voice and it appears effortless to him
💜💜💜💜💜 Love Steve Perry!
THey were a SUPERGROUP for sure, back then everything they put out was gold
