Yep it is. I already finished the manga about a year ago or so. And since then I’ve reread the manga and finished it like 5 or so times. But sadly i have a feeling that they won’t reboot the anime and finish the manga. I’ve heard that the voice actor of Raki died so i highly doubt it
Erza Midnight the whole agenda of strong female characters in movies and tv shows . They need to take a look at anime like this they really show how to make badass cool female characters. Don’t want a live action of this because it is a great show and they would ruin it. But anime has had amazing female characters for a long time and they should remake some influence from it. Teresa of the faint smile is epic. I don’t read manga so I know I’ve missed out but this anime was amazing 👍

Actually in the manga it was confirmed that that Teresa was more like an idealized version that Clare had in her head from when she was a girl. It was still rad tho, and Sekiro ripped off Casandra’s fight
That wasn’t even teresa lol, they described her as a lingering thought that dwelled within clare herself so in truth she was pretty much a mental projection of teresa over clare herself. If anything clare was the one who beat priscilla, just using the image of teresa.
When you think about it, the whole concept of Claymore is sad. All these women who became a ''Claymore'' were either forced to become one or just like Clare, they willing became one to avenge the previous Claymore that protected them
The whole continent was basically a lab for the “people” across the ocean to test their bio weapons. Claymores are test subjects while most of the people are just basically food for those subjects.
The name Faint Smile makes sense now. Irene is confused on why they can't beat her because she thought Teresa only needed her yoki sense to be good. The "Faint Smile" comes from Teresa never allowing people to fully see her true power of high yoki senses and raw ability. Makes a lot more sense in the manga when Teresa is constantly overwhelming stronger opponents.
**SPOILER** even when they are taking hysteria's head. teresa is number 6 then i guess. it was rosemary who gave the final blow. but it was teresa who wounded her severely that made her slower/immobilize. no one notices that except hysteria herself. she even describe teresa as someone who faintly smiling after almost immobilizing her.
She also fought with Cassandra the Dust Eater (considered one of the strongest Number 1) and Teresa effortlessly defeated her as well. Wish she fought with all of the three awakened Number 1’s
That was Teresa pretty much saying there's no need for them to fight, why does her abandoning the organisation matter? she continued to do her job of killing yoma, she just wanted to be left alone, and made that clear.
Teresa was straight fire. An indomitable warrior-goddess that left scorching flames in her wake. Her sword was the law, backed by the weight of heaven. She was just too big for Claymore. Even Kaguya from Naruto would shit a brick if she came across Teresa. This anime needs a proper reboot. She was simply the most badass female in anime. In terms of female fighters, she was # GOAT

The other interesting parallel between Teresa and Priscilla is their take on humans. Initially, Teresa was just so depressed and apathetic towards the world at large, but reluctantly learned to genuinely love another person. She protected Claire and fostered the little girl’s trust in her. Even caring so much that she was willing to give Claire up because she wanted what was best for her and for her to have a good life. Meanwhile, for all of Priscilla’s self-righteous lecturing about fostering trust with humans, she certainly wasn’t shy about starting a war IN THE TOWN FULL OF PEOPLE. She will go on and on about how Teresa is the “bad guy” for killing humans while she’s the “good guy” for protecting humans, but throughout the series, she is primarily ruled by her trauma and self-centeredness. Here, it’s obvious that her core personality isn’t guided by an actual sense of justice or wanting to do what’s right or desire to help/protect humans. Even later, when it seems she learns to “love” Raki, that was primarily because she smelled “the one who could kill her” on him and then trained him to help kill her. All in all, she’s very pitiful.
You are not taking into account her being an Awakened being later. This changes you significantly, especially in terms of morality and ethics. At this point Priscilla is just a dumb kid. Later she is a monster, not human, its not the same person at all anymore. Awakened beings are not humans. The only possible exception was Islay, the one Creature of the Abyss that awakened on purpose and not for selfish reasons.

It's why she wanted to die why she left little girls alive, it's why she stabbed herself with her sword after awakening. Possibly the reason she saved Raki, that sliver of her human mind left took control for a sllit second and saved. The reasonings given for both the self stabbing and spareing raki are the same on a whim.
She smelled Clair on Raki since he was in her company and of course Clair got her abilities through Teresa's blood. It was Priscilla's awakened primal sense that were guiding her to find her absolution. The manga sure did get pretty weird further on too.

In bonus content in the manga, it is shown that Teresa can copy any sword technique from simply witnessing it once. She's a S rank in every category. She isn't just brute force. She excels at every skill and ability she has.
Teresa often liked to act much weaker than she really is to surprise her opponents. And she only ups her power JUST that little bit enough to over power then by a little bit. Her fights with Rosemary, Cassandra and finally Priscilla proved it. It's like she is challenging them to fully release their power against her first before raising her own power to match and then overcome them.
The more I watch this fight scene, the more I get depressed. Teresa is one of the best-written characters in anime for me but they had to kill her. Fuck. But that's why the reason that this anime/manga is so good. Too bad it's underrated, man I wish so bad for a reboot and hope that it finishes up until the end of the manga.
This kill squad actually just shows how incredible Teresa was. Irene is said to have the greatest technique of the claymores with the Quick-sword Priscilla was said to have the greatest amount of raw Yoki Sophia said to be the strongest claymore in terms of physicality and muscle power. Noel who was said to be the fastest and most agile claymore of that generation. Yet Teresa is still levels above all 4 of them even in the fields they're supposedly the greatest in, she's truly levels above any of them

@@Captain_souls in a way its kinda like ultra instinct: teresa at base power isnt that far above each of the four, but using the basic ability to track yoki aura lets her better leverage that base level power against them, which is why irene was leveraging numbers in this battle. the plan only falls apart because teresa's base power is just that........ none of the other warriors know what teresa's power is like past that (the manga makes it clear it took fighting rosemary (a former number 2 and post-awakening) to remember what 10% of her power was like)

You know, I usually prefer sub to dub, but the dub is really good on Claymore. All of the voices fit the characters, and none of them are irritating. Teresa and Irene's voices especially are fitting for their characters, and the voices themselves are beautiful.
Yachiru Kusajishi Elenas voice in my opinion is a bit of a miss, when reading the manga I always think her voice would be more like Cornelia from code geass, or erza from fairy tail, forgive me on the example I just can't think of another Coleen clinkenberd character that would match with Elena, besides the claymore she already voices in the anime.
Erepyon It doesnt matter. Ilena is second in the bunch. And gradually, anyone could surpass Teresa if they actually tried. A CALM, COMPOSED, completely controlled and managed Prisicilla could fight Teresa 1v1 and manage okay even as a beginner, without resorting to back stabbing. I know and i understand your point, but as much respect as i had for Ilena (or Irene, whatever), later on, this fight had me facepalming every 10 seconds. They all fought stupidly...rush..rush for nothing.

HBoi 3112 she can "read" the power lines running in her enemy body and quickly predict exactly what they gonna do, so she always one step ahead and never lose to anyone
priscilla never went out of her way to threaten the organization though. she only attacked the organization when provoked (like when alicia and beth came at her). the biggest threat to the organization was always the ghosts.

Agreed. The anime needs to redo the final episodes. Like one of the claymore woke up and realized that what happened was just a dream. Then the real battle in the Northern town began. And things can follow the manga from that point on. And yes, I want to see the stories after the manga too. Some events from the mainland would be awesome too.
Lets be real. Teresa was such a god-tier character that if she survived, the Manga would've been over in five minutes. The organisation would've been destroyed, and she would've remained basically a god queen. Additionally, she even admitted that saving people just for the sake of saving them was a wonderful experience to her. If Teresa was still around, the Organisation's business would've dried up faster than they could spit. (they were making Awakened beings, Yoma and Claymores all in equal measure). Although, my one question is: If instead of aiming to take off her head, what would've happened if Teresa knelt down to Priscilla's level, wished her well, thanked her for a good fight and spoke to her kindly. Granted, Priscilla was so stuck on her black and white mentality that I doubt it would've made a difference, but still...

Teresa was so far above everyone else. Her normal sword swing > awaken one arm quick sword of Irena. Her normal dodge > huge yoki release phantom of Miria. All her regular moves were beyond all the fancy moves depended on huge yoki release of other high-level claymores. When she finally released just 10% of her yoki, she was able to tear apart Abyssal One with bare hands. Teresa was a monster. One of the Abyssal One said so.
Vash Stampede well.. strongest is always the winner tho.. from my point of view.. teresa is have some difficulty against.. miria n raphaela.. raphaela is spoiler so id just say the minimum of her ability.. like teresa.. she also fights depending on yoki.. but hers is quite a different.. while teresa has to move by herself.. raphaelas body moves by itself.. n it also works when someone attacks from behind.. its almost a combination of byakugan+ultra instinct.. altho.. she has neither one.. but the combination of lesser version of byakugan.. n ultra instinct.. is stronger against one of them at a time.. n.. miria is actually a very sharp fighter.. remember.. even with all these power.. she wasnt the one that finished the organization.. but it was miria.. not only she is much more knowledgeable.. she has better leading skill.. also has shown to be able to develop herself the most without any help.. claira had help from raphaela.. irine.. ophelia.. the former number 8.. n yet.. after time skip was sort of weaker than miria without awakening.. now.. by help i mean.. raphaelas fighting style.. she inherited it.. got irines hand.. ophelia helped her train her arm.. leading her to gasp the concept of using quicksword.. number 8s technique is literally bestowed upon her alone even tho.. none else got it.. but miria developed herself.. n she beat someone with a much lesser version technique.. n if teresa is tricked by the likes of Priscella.. who never showed to be shrewd enough to use tactics.. n believed in fair fight.. i believe.. someone who woukd use any means to win.. is a much more dangerous for teresa.. who literaly was foolish enough to trust someone who had already passed her limit.. n only her yoma side remained.. now it wont be be fair to use awakened teresa version.. as it wqs stated by herself.. that its cuz of how strong claire imagined teresa that she was this powerful.. teresa admitted herself that she wasn't actually this strong herself.. n also.. we dont know awakened mirias feat.. im not saying it would be stronger.. but we dont know is the point..

I'm pretty sure Priscilla just went batshit insane from fear of death. It wasn't about killing her because someone told her too anymore. She was scared and wanted to remove that fear more than anything.
Teresa's voice is soooo elegant! I wish they would make a reboot! In the manga it gets SO much better. I highly recommend if you want to continue claymore

But as the manga progresses, so does that art and it literally shook me when I saw the Change in artstyle. Amazes me so much. what I did was while I just finished chapter 2, I skipped all the way to chapter 130 (not to actually read it, just look at the art) and it changes *significantly*
Sachin T i dont like her but you're right she was stupid and inexperienced but she did try to be honorable and do things the "right" way which i respect her for. the others wanted to things the cowardly way. Irene took her to that point where she would do anything to kill Teresa. Priscilla was just following her superior's order.

No the art style was VERY good for it's time, Im talking about the ANIMATION animation.... as in movement, bringing the characters to life, etc. It's almost as bad as Fairy Tail. Time line doesnt dictate the quality of the animation. You ever wonder why Disney movies are considered among the best animations world wide? Because they follow all 12 principles of animation thoroughly. There are some exceptional animes that accept about half or less than half of the principles, but animes like these, the animators themselves probably havent even heard of the 12 principles back when they were making this.

It’s interesting because both Teresa and Priscilla are tragic characters Teresa essentially lost her humanity, and became depressed. Lost after the years of bloodshed and meeting Claire she got the things she always longed for. Love. She was willing to break the rules of the organization just for Claire. Priscilla is a intelligent warrior, and is very honorable at first. She is still haunted by the death of her family, especially her father. Yet she is so brainwashed. The audience knows Teresa only killed the humans who tried to rape Claire, but Priscilla states she killed so many. Which makes me wonder how much do they tell their warriors?
I remember when one of the bandits tried to rape teresa and she didnt care so to me i dont think the organiztion really cares about it. He was eventually off put by something. Maybe scars or torture marks on het body but he didnt go through with it. Its an iron law to not hurt humans regardless if theyre bad which to me is dumb as hell.

In the manga, I believe Teresa herself admitted that her yoki sensing has limits. When someone releases massive amounts of yoki, she can’t easily perceive the detail flow of yoki. Imagine a duck flowing on a small flow of water to a massive release of water from the dam. That duck on the dam is a lot damn harder to follow.
Actually i read on the manga (i think) that there is a limit on much teresa and clare can read yoki. Releasing immense power of yoki can make it hard to read the attacks of the opponent .There is a moment at 10:08 that Teresa barely notices Priscilla's attack and manages to dodge her attack . (Plus there were 4 immense powerful Claymores . Thats a lot of Yoki to be able to read ) Like Jean's Drill sword . It takes some time to charge and after she activates it , has to wait until she can reuse it .

The crazy thing is, Teresa with only 10% of her yoki is a match for any Abyssal One. There was a bonus chapter in the manga where the former number 1 before Teresa challenged her to a duel, keeping hidden that she had awakened *before* sending out her black card. Given her previous status, that would *at least* put her on the level of a newly awakened Abyssal. Teresa twisted one of her arms off with her bare hand (before using her Yoki) and then proceeded to easily cut her down with one strike. Her power at 10% had the awakened near pissing herself in terror. Just to add insult to injury, before killing her, Teresa stated that she only used her Yoki at all because she's concerned if she doesn't every once in a while she'll forget how to. Afterwards, Teresa straight up lied about the whole thing to her handler, claiming that the other Claymore hadn't awakened yet clarifying that she'd "obviously" be dead if she had. The implication of that one chapter, is that if she had felt like it, Teresa could've challenged any of the Abyssals and probably taken them out. Hell (and I'm getting into spoiler for the final battle) when Claire awakens against Priscilla, she becomes Teresa who then awakens herself to finish the fight. The kicker is, the only thing about her that changed in her awakened form, is that she grew wings. The *only* way to make Teresa more dangerous, is if she can fly 😂
Teresa doesn't even have her full gear on, and she's still kicking ass. Love Teresa, and one of my favorite parts of the series! On a side note- I notice a few things that kind of set Teresa apart from the other Claymores is her level of self awareness, and her ability to independently think. Amazingly as powerful as she is, she honestly seems the most human of all the Claymores.
This seems to the case for most other warriors. As the organization says "warriors who live too long are problematic". This is verified with Galatea, Rafaela, Irene... all went AWOL.
i love teresa's confidence on her skills... she is indeed a one to beat. like they have said in the manga, teresa is the most powerful number 1 that the organization had created. they used to say hysteria was the fastest claymore but teresa was too humble that time that she didn't show off her true power until the day she, the first one, had able to cut and inflict a fatal blow at hysteria the elegant. and also defeat the best claymore with the strangest technique one on one, cassandra the dust easter and end the life of the most powerful abyssal being, priscilla. The faint smile ruled over all... gosh....what will happen if teresa awakened... humanity is doomed. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
My only problem with the manga was there wasn't enough Teresa in it. We only get to see her fight at the begining and at the end. (though it would be RIP to anyone who ever try to fight her).
This never gets old. Theresa is such a bad ass and so freakin OP AF! She makes the other claymores look like children fighting an adult. They are not even worth it for her to be serious.
Whose the main in claymore. I always enjoyed this kind of characters. But i just cant feel 1000% with women. Like i enjoy bersrk because it has got the same feels except the main is Guts. A guy i can relate to,. Any recommemdations guys?
There are some spin-off in the manga, when she gone hunting for Awakened ones, also she's an MC in the end of the manga. - she's the one who beat Priscilla at the very end.
Hi, teresa's awakened in manga series, the last episode from manga, clare and teresa become one soul and teresa come back some instants, her form it's an woman with archangel feather wings, the most powerful one creature EVER on manga and on the end of it
The problem is that the dumbass director of the first season sealed the work's fate by coming up with a non-canon ending for the first season and killing off the main antagonist. It wasn't like Noragami where they created a whole non-canon arc and a non-canon final boss for the first Noragami season in which they just picked up right after from the manga for the second season. For Claymore to have a second season, they have to indicate where the bullshit started and where they'll decide to pick up. Regardless I would LOVE to see someone awesome enough to pick up the manga and anime-ka it. This is literally one of my favorite animes (except Raki, who freakin stays useless regardless of progression, but at the same time it doesn't bullshittingly break predetermined rules that the anime set that humans can't be stronger than Claymores), it has the Jump's three principles: Friendship, hard work, victory. Spoilers* Btw, it wasn't that Teresa came back at the end, or that it was Teresa's awakening form, it was actually CLAIRE's awakening form. Claire, the only Claymore who bares the flesh of another Claymore as opposed to a piece of youma, doesn't have an awakened form of a Youma. Her awakened form IS Teresa. I wish there was more to it though, the ending was also pretty sad as they both decided to live together with Irene.... except she died without them knowing. All in all I can't stop praising this as a shounen piece lol. In a show where every character has the exact same armor, hair color, eye color, and weapon, to be able to make a cast with definitive traits, goals, personalities, is just absolutely amazing.
Zero H Indeed one of the best mangas out there. I really wish they finished the manga first before they made the anime, so they wouldnt have had to make an alternate ending which is very very sad. But on the bright side they can reboot the anime and start all over again.
In the manga ending when Teresa came back, Teresa awakened form was the Goddess itself. Priscilla full prowess was merely a sneeze for Teresa. “Faint smile” means she try not to show her god-tier full power so she just smiles faintly every time. Special credit to the voice actors: great work!
This is amazing. Best example of insanely OP character that is OP even at the end of the manga where threats evolve to the insane heights but it still isn't boring.
Always felt bad for Irene. She was stuck in a generation that had the likes of Teresa and Priscilla. If those two were not present she most likely would have been the current no. 1 of her time. Just a mere quick sword release on Ophelia wounded her to the point where she had to awaken to overcome her injuries. I never thought Priscilla was ever a true contender for the throne of best Claymore. She has physical attributes that closely rivals Teresa but no preemptive yoki sensing which meant to me that the higher they powered up the easier it would get for Teresa to read her so long as Teresa's yoki levels were up to par which we know they were.
Well, irene was never considered to be even equal to previous number ones either. There were some characters who were not number one but still had the ability inside them to be one & they were mentioned at least once as to be able to become number one. Unfortunately the manga has zero statements about Irene even being close to previous number ones. Characters like raphaela, miata, europa & even the young twins were not number one but was considered to have the potential to be one. Miria even defeated a former number one who faught irene rosemary & some of the other top tiers with mentioned name at once. Histeria even took out half of the claymore ranks & only lost because of theresa. Unfortunately, Irene never showed any feat that puts her on par with known number ones. She could be one in a weaker generation. But not on raphaela, alicia, riful, isely or cassandra's generations. Perhaps roxanne but its still debatable as roxanne is the second most versatile claymore in history after theresa, who could naturally do any techniques just by seeing, even better than the creator of the technique. So, bottom line is, irene isnt comparable to any number ones that we know of from the manga except maybe roxanne.
Unfortunately we can only consider the context in which Irene was mentioned. No. 2 & 3 of her generation doesn't dream of trying to take her on. She catches No. 4 of Clare's generation with a Quicksword that was nearly fatal. That same No. 4 who just wasted an awaken being rather easily prior to being owned by Irene. That she willingly gave up No. 2 position to Priscilla and is repeatedly bested by Teresa does not belittle her in the least as those 2 were the best Claymores by far of any generation. Her Quicksword in comparison to all known high level "learned" techniques seems to me atleast to be of the highest caliber. Also the time frame in which Irene appears, the viewer has little to no knowledge of Claymore generations or even Awakened Beings so of course we won't have any mention of "where she stands vs x generation member." I will say I find her more impressive then Miata, the twins or Europa, etc that were "hyped" by the organization. I really can't comment on Alicia, Riful or Isley, and other already Awakened Beings, since we don't get to see any of their human Claymore feats but rather only get to glimpse them while they're already in their Abyssal state. I know that Isley got props from Raki and that other male Claymore as being a superb swordsman. We also must consider that the Organization has been wrong on MANY occasions. They thought Teresa was strong but didn't know how monstrously strong she truly was. They thought Clare a complete failure. They had no knowledge that Miria and co. that had partially awakened were all equal or superior to currently ranked single digits. They claimed that Alicia would be the strongest Claymore ever.
Sir Isley Well, if we are going to consider how none of her generations top tier wanted to challenge her, then how can we ignore the statement by herself that she wont stand a chance against raphaela even with both hands? We cant right since it came directly from her. Now, raphaela & lucilia were on par as they were able to take succeed to some degree on the awakening during experiment periods. Even if we say that the organization was wrong, this is a fact tho. Also, they organization did say that they both had roughly the same amount of youki. Lucilia got beaten by isely but they were almost euqals as isely didnt have the stamina to chase after Lucilia to finish the job either. By that, we can say that isely was a bit stronger than both rapahela & lucilia when it came to youki that is. Since irene herself admitted that she cant beat raphaela even in her prime, then yeah she is weaker than Lucilia & isely. Now, when lucilia awakened, riful went to meet her & asked het to tag team isely to take him out. She refused saying that, once they beat isely, riful will probably kill her as well. Shows that, riful was most likely a bit stronger than lucilia as well. In other words, irene is weaker than riful too. Now, exclude theresa & priscilla. Even the claymores can read whether its an abyssal one or not just by measuring their yoki. Thats how they even kept track of the battle rosemarry & co. vs riful. So, its safe to say that most number one awakened with comparable yoki when they do awaken. About her quick sword, i think ita opinion based. Rippling sowrd will give someone who doesnt have quick sword a very hard time. QS was basically the perfect counter to it. But while QS needs your arm to be completely awaken which vosts way more concentration & yoki, rippling sowrd doesnt. So, its more of a safe technique. To me, raphaela has the best technique. Her ability doesnt depend on others. She can keep track of any movements within the threards she spreads around & has almost instinctive leg reflex. But again, its opinion based. Some prefef damage(irene QS), some speed(hysteria miria- phantom), some prefer stealth skills (roxanne, priscilla & theresa), some likes to be unpredictable (cassandra), some wants to play it safe (galatea, raphaela) etc. To me, miata was obviously way more impressive than irene. Her ability to heighten all of her senses to the point where it can be called a sixth sense without even using yoki is baddass. She also ripped yoma with bare hands. Of course irene would win against pre- Clarice death miata since she was unstable. But now that she has become much more stable because of Clarice's brainwashing, its hard to say. Altho miata will definitely surpass irene's prime sooner or later. The twins can awaken. All they lack are real battle experience which they got from the biggest battle in history of claymore. I doubt they need anything other than time to completely dominate irene. Alicia was able to keep a hold onto beth & dodge Rifuls attacks in human form even after that rough battle. She took out 10 awakened beings by herself! i doubt irene could do that. Well, i wouldnt say the organization was wrong. They simoly didnt have enough information. Theresa never released her powers completely in her lifetime. There was no way the organization could know of her true potential. But they still understood that she clearly deserved number one position. So i wouldnt say completely wrong or right. About half awakeneds, remember that rubul hid it from the organization. They simply didnt know half awakening was a thing. Besides, claire was still a failure tho. Even at the end, her yoki ran out faster than cinthia against priscilla even when she used way more yoki than them. In the end she needed to do soul link awakening. While miria was still capable of fighting hysteria even after reaching to the point where she couldnt even reattach her hands properly. Shows that the difference in yoki is still there. What she avhieved was irene's arm & developed or rather copied theresa's skill. There was also an statement by cynthia that even if she could outrun yuma, cynthia would catch up to her in no time. Show's that there are still some differences between a true single digit & claire. Well, isely was dead lucilia as well. The only abyssal that wouldve been left after rifuls death wouldve been alicia (they didnt know about Priscilla being the strongest). So, its sorta not completely wrong tho xD. Had they known about priscillas true power & still said that alicia is the strongest then they would be wrong. But once they found out priscillas existence, the organization knew there was one very poweful being.
Ah I forgot about the Irene vs Raphaela encounter. Can't remember the exact words exchanged but I always took it as Irene saying "well even if I had 2 arms it'd be no guarantee I'd be able to beat you," in response to Raphaela's "well I heard you had only one arm but it seems you have none now...too bad." I mean you're not gonna exactly go "well you're lucky I don't have 2 arms or else I'd kick your ass" to someone who's gonna kick your ass when you don't have any arms. Irene at that point had pretty much given up the warrior lifestyle too so instead of becoming more powerful as time went by which I believe most Claymores do get, she had probably regressed. However I've always felt she was a bit of a walking contradiction as her technique requires full arm awakening and full youki mastery as to not let the rest of the body follow suit yet somehow this doesn't qualify as that "half awakening" that the rest of Miria and co. benefitted from. I don't remember Riful wanting to team up with Luciela to kill Isley pre Priscilla era. Logically speaking that whole "we're lucky to have a 3 way split between the Abyssals" that Rubel or whoever it was spouted seemed nonsensical because in my eyes Isley was stronger then either Luciela or Riful individually. So there really was nothing stopping Isley from stomping out Riful when she first awakened other then he didn't care for it. Same with going to topple the Organization because obviously Isley could have easily taken the whole island for himself seeing as he was the only No. 1 of his generation and if all the males from 1-5 had awaken who did the Organization have to rely on? Some freshly minted female potential No. 1? Even if a female Claymore No. 1 stepped up, I doubt she in human form could take an Awakened Isley on. Part of the reason I don't like the "hyped" up No. 1 potentials like Miata is because they lack any combat perception. What good is all that strength and heightened senses going to do for you if you can't even tell that you're being chipped to death by that "Bloody Mary" what's her face Awakened Being. As to the twins Alicia and Beth, they're practically both Awakened Beings so comparing them to any non Awakened Claymore is a bit unfair. As for Clare, the series doesn't seem to do her much justice imo. She's only 1/4th yoma yet they make it seem like she's got all the drawbacks of the 1/2 yoma warriors and no benefit of any sort. She should have been able to control her half Awakened state or yoma abilities MUCH better on account of being the most human of any Claymore out there. Anyways we're getting off tangent here. I personally feel that a non disheartened Irene who still continually trained with both arms intact, in that x amount of years isolation that she was in hiding could have been a contender for top. I don't remember if Priscialla vaporized her arm, but memory recalls her just tossing it casually back to Irene or to side saying something like "you shouldn't leave your parts lying casually about." If some lowbie like Clare could reattach her limbs then I don't see why Irene couldn't either save for plot.
Irene and the other two are responsible for Priscilla ending up in a fate worse then death. By not helping Theresa they let loose a true terror, and destroyed the soul of a impressionable little girl who had no business being involved in war.
We all know she died because of her using just 10% and just putting on her contact lenses. Oh and giving Pricilla the chance because she's just an ignorant kid. Man, I love Teresa

well tbh.. miria was the most baddass in the manga.. but teresa n Priscella was indeed strongest.. now i say miria is cuz.. she literally turned the organizations power against it.. now thats some cool shit! she was no where near a rank one.. yet defeated one of the strongest number one in a very unique manner.. she literally took on every warrior n killed none.. that was baddass at its peak.. of course i think teresa is cool n all.. but all of them were created by the organization.. if the organization stayed.. maybe in a few hundred years.. even teresa n Priscella wouldve been surpassed.. considering the organization kept doing their research.. also made some crazy stuffs.. so taking down the source of all power.. that is the best thing! she created a plan to save comrades even when the chances were zero.. thats baddass! this is one of the few anime where the most powerful one didnt seem the most baddass rather.. a side character.. who struggled!
Teresa shares the same parallels as Itachi, reading yoki and seeing the next move is the same as the sharingan. The opponent expends so much energy trying to overwhelm you while you never leave second gear just relying on anticipation and guile. All the while keeping your battle strength and motives a mystery coupled with massive IQ battle sense is what makes them both so terrifying. Imagine going up against an opponent who is immeasurably strong(don't know or assume to know strength ceiling in the case of Elena), you don't know their motives, they have the keen ability to read your movements and come up with lethal tactics in the heat of combat based on observing you. It forces your opponent to succumb to desperation which just plays into the sharingan/yoki read ability, it's genius. Another great anime that uses this trait is Rurouni Kenshin.
Theresa has and will always be in a league of her own. No one even comes close. Priscilla nearly awakened got owned by a 10% power Theresa, even fully awakened, Priscilla would absolutely get shitstomped by Theresa if she actually tried.
Have u read the manga? This anime made me read manga from time to time and in my opinion this anime is so underrated given the fact that the actual story and plot is really well written. Such a pity this anime has never been finished so in case u want to know how it ends I highly recommend you to finish the story by reading manga.
As good as this fight is, I thought it was made even better when Irene shows up later, one handed, and is so very unimpressed with the Claymores of the next generation.
You don't even know what you're missing if you haven't seen the final battle in the manga. The manga is one of my all time favorites and the show is cut so criminally short =( I mean that very literally yall. The show essentially cuts off before we even get close to the halfway point of the manga. They leave out years and years of story! Read the manga, its incredible!

Erza Midnight the whole agenda of strong female characters in movies and tv shows . They need to take a look at anime like this they really show how to make badass cool female characters. Don’t want a live action of this because it is a great show and they would ruin it. But anime has had amazing female characters for a long time and they should remake some influence from it. When you think about it, the whole concept of Claymore is sad. All these women who became a ''Claymore'' were either forced to become one or just like Clare, they willing became one to avenge the previous Claymore that protected them
The whole continent was basically a lab for the “people” across the ocean to test their bio weapons. Claymores are test subjects while most of the people are just basically food for those subjects.

The other interesting parallel between Teresa and Priscilla is their take on humans. Initially, Teresa was just so depressed and apathetic towards the world at large, but reluctantly learned to genuinely love another person. She protected Claire and fostered the little girl’s trust in her. Even caring so much that she was willing to give Claire up because she wanted what was best for her and for her to have a good life.
Meanwhile, for all of Priscilla’s self-righteous lecturing about fostering trust with humans, she certainly wasn’t shy about starting a war IN THE TOWN FULL OF PEOPLE. She will go on and on about how Teresa is the “bad guy” for killing humans while she’s the “good guy” for protecting humans, but throughout the series, she is primarily ruled by her trauma and self-centeredness. Here, it’s obvious that her core personality isn’t guided by an actual sense of justice or wanting to do what’s right or desire to help/protect humans. Even later, when it seems she learns to “love” Raki, that was primarily because she smelled “the one who could kill her” on him and then trained him to help kill her. All in all, she’s very pitiful.
You are not taking into account her being an Awakened being later. This changes you significantly, especially in terms of morality and ethics.
At this point Priscilla is just a dumb kid. Later she is a monster, not human, its not the same person at all anymore. Awakened beings are not humans.
The only possible exception was Islay, the one Creature of the Abyss that awakened on purpose and not for selfish reasons.

Teresa often liked to act much weaker than she really is to surprise her opponents. And she only ups her power JUST that little bit enough to over power then by a little bit. Her fights with Rosemary, Cassandra and finally Priscilla proved it. It's like she is challenging them to fully release their power against her first before raising her own power to match and then overcome them.
The more I watch this fight scene, the more I get depressed. Teresa is one of the best-written characters in anime for me but they had to kill her. Fuck. But that's why the reason that this anime/manga is so good. Too bad it's underrated, man I wish so bad for a reboot and hope that it finishes up until the end of the manga.

Yet Teresa is still levels above all 4 of them even in the fields they're supposedly the greatest in, she's truly levels above any of them

@@Captain_souls in a way its kinda like ultra instinct: teresa at base power isnt that far above each of the four, but using the basic ability to track yoki aura lets her better leverage that base level power against them, which is why irene was leveraging numbers in this battle. the plan only falls apart because teresa's base power is just that........ none of the other warriors know what teresa's power is like past that (the manga makes it clear it took fighting rosemary (a former number 2 and post-awakening) to remember what 10% of her power was like)

You know, I usually prefer sub to dub, but the dub is really good on Claymore. All of the voices fit the characters, and none of them are irritating. Teresa and Irene's voices especially are fitting for their characters, and the voices themselves are beautiful.

Agreed. The anime needs to redo the final episodes. Like one of the claymore woke up and realized that what happened was just a dream. Then the real battle in the Northern town began. And things can follow the manga from that point on.

Lets be real. Teresa was such a god-tier character that if she survived, the Manga would've been over in five minutes. The organisation would've been destroyed, and she would've remained basically a god queen.
Additionally, she even admitted that saving people just for the sake of saving them was a wonderful experience to her. If Teresa was still around, the Organisation's business would've dried up faster than they could spit. (they were making Awakened beings, Yoma and Claymores all in equal measure).
Although, my one question is: If instead of aiming to take off her head, what would've happened if Teresa knelt down to Priscilla's level, wished her well, thanked her for a good fight and spoke to her kindly. Granted, Priscilla was so stuck on her black and white mentality that I doubt it would've made a difference, but still...

Her normal sword swing > awaken one arm quick sword of Irena.
Her normal dodge > huge yoki release phantom of Miria.
All her regular moves were beyond all the fancy moves depended on huge yoki release of other high-level claymores.
When she finally released just 10% of her yoki, she was able to tear apart Abyssal One with bare hands.
Teresa was a monster. One of the Abyssal One said so.
Vash Stampede well.. strongest is always the winner tho.. from my point of view.. teresa is have some difficulty against.. miria n raphaela.. raphaela is spoiler so id just say the minimum of her ability.. like teresa.. she also fights depending on yoki.. but hers is quite a different.. while teresa has to move by herself.. raphaelas body moves by itself.. n it also works when someone attacks from behind.. its almost a combination of byakugan+ultra instinct.. altho.. she has neither one.. but the combination of lesser version of byakugan.. n ultra instinct.. is stronger against one of them at a time.. n.. miria is actually a very sharp fighter.. remember.. even with all these power.. she wasnt the one that finished the organization.. but it was miria.. not only she is much more knowledgeable.. she has better leading skill.. also has shown to be able to develop herself the most without any help.. claira had help from raphaela.. irine.. ophelia.. the former number 8.. n yet.. after time skip was sort of weaker than miria without awakening.. now.. by help i mean.. raphaelas fighting style.. she inherited it.. got irines hand.. ophelia helped her train her arm.. leading her to gasp the concept of using quicksword.. number 8s technique is literally bestowed upon her alone even tho.. none else got it.. but miria developed herself.. n she beat someone with a much lesser version technique.. n if teresa is tricked by the likes of Priscella.. who never showed to be shrewd enough to use tactics.. n believed in fair fight.. i believe.. someone who woukd use any means to win.. is a much more dangerous for teresa.. who literaly was foolish enough to trust someone who had already passed her limit.. n only her yoma side remained.. now it wont be be fair to use awakened teresa version.. as it wqs stated by herself.. that its cuz of how strong claire imagined teresa that she was this powerful.. teresa admitted herself that she wasn't actually this strong herself.. n also.. we dont know awakened mirias feat.. im not saying it would be stronger.. but we dont know is the point..

No the art style was VERY good for it's time, Im talking about the ANIMATION animation.... as in movement, bringing the characters to life, etc. It's almost as bad as Fairy Tail. Time line doesnt dictate the quality of the animation. You ever wonder why Disney movies are considered among the best animations world wide? Because they follow all 12 principles of animation thoroughly. There are some exceptional animes that accept about half or less than half of the principles, but animes like these, the animators themselves probably havent even heard of the 12 principles back when they were making this.

Teresa essentially lost her humanity, and became depressed. Lost after the years of bloodshed and meeting Claire she got the things she always longed for. Love. She was willing to break the rules of the organization just for Claire.
Priscilla is a intelligent warrior, and is very honorable at first. She is still haunted by the death of her family, especially her father. Yet she is so brainwashed. The audience knows Teresa only killed the humans who tried to rape Claire, but Priscilla states she killed so many. Which makes me wonder how much do they tell their warriors?

In the manga, I believe Teresa herself admitted that her yoki sensing has limits. When someone releases massive amounts of yoki, she can’t easily perceive the detail flow of yoki. Imagine a duck flowing on a small flow of water to a massive release of water from the dam. That duck on the dam is a lot damn harder to follow.
Actually i read on the manga (i think) that there is a limit on much teresa and clare can read yoki. Releasing immense power of yoki can make it hard to read the attacks of the opponent .There is a moment at 10:08 that Teresa barely notices Priscilla's attack and manages to dodge her attack . (Plus there were 4 immense powerful Claymores . Thats a lot of Yoki to be able to read ) Like Jean's Drill sword . It takes some time to charge and after she activates it , has to wait until she can reuse it .
When she goes 1v1 with Priscilla she cant read her Yoki and that is why she chooses to release her own so her limits are obvious even on the anime

The crazy thing is, Teresa with only 10% of her yoki is a match for any Abyssal One. There was a bonus chapter in the manga where the former number 1 before Teresa challenged her to a duel, keeping hidden that she had awakened *before* sending out her black card. Given her previous status, that would *at least* put her on the level of a newly awakened Abyssal. Teresa twisted one of her arms off with her bare hand (before using her Yoki) and then proceeded to easily cut her down with one strike. Her power at 10% had the awakened near pissing herself in terror. Just to add insult to injury, before killing her, Teresa stated that she only used her Yoki at all because she's concerned if she doesn't every once in a while she'll forget how to. Afterwards, Teresa straight up lied about the whole thing to her handler, claiming that the other Claymore hadn't awakened yet clarifying that she'd "obviously" be dead if she had. The implication of that one chapter, is that if she had felt like it, Teresa could've challenged any of the Abyssals and probably taken them out. Hell (and I'm getting into spoiler for the final battle) when Claire awakens against Priscilla, she becomes Teresa who then awakens herself to finish the fight. The kicker is, the only thing about her that changed in her awakened form, is that she grew wings. The *only* way to make Teresa more dangerous, is if she can fly 😂
Teresa doesn't even have her full gear on, and she's still kicking ass. Love Teresa, and one of my favorite parts of the series!
On a side note- I notice a few things that kind of set Teresa apart from the other Claymores is her level of self awareness, and her ability to independently think. Amazingly as powerful as she is, she honestly seems the most human of all the Claymores.
This seems to the case for most other warriors. As the organization says "warriors who live too long are problematic".
This is verified with Galatea, Rafaela, Irene... all went AWOL.

i love teresa's confidence on her skills... she is indeed a one to beat. like they have said in the manga, teresa is the most powerful number 1 that the organization had created. they used to say hysteria was the fastest claymore but teresa was too humble that time that she didn't show off her true power until the day she, the first one, had able to cut and inflict a fatal blow at hysteria the elegant. and also defeat the best claymore with the strangest technique one on one, cassandra the dust easter and end the life of the most powerful abyssal being, priscilla.

Hi, teresa's awakened in manga series, the last episode from manga, clare and teresa become one soul and teresa come back some instants, her form it's an woman with archangel feather wings, the most powerful one creature EVER on manga and on the end of it
The problem is that the dumbass director of the first season sealed the work's fate by coming up with a non-canon ending for the first season and killing off the main antagonist.
It wasn't like Noragami where they created a whole non-canon arc and a non-canon final boss for the first Noragami season in which they just picked up right after from the manga for the second season. For Claymore to have a second season, they have to indicate where the bullshit started and where they'll decide to pick up.
Regardless I would LOVE to see someone awesome enough to pick up the manga and anime-ka it. This is literally one of my favorite animes (except Raki, who freakin stays useless regardless of progression, but at the same time it doesn't bullshittingly break predetermined rules that the anime set that humans can't be stronger than Claymores), it has the Jump's three principles: Friendship, hard work, victory.

Btw, it wasn't that Teresa came back at the end, or that it was Teresa's awakening form, it was actually CLAIRE's awakening form. Claire, the only Claymore who bares the flesh of another Claymore as opposed to a piece of youma, doesn't have an awakened form of a Youma. Her awakened form IS Teresa. I wish there was more to it though, the ending was also pretty sad as they both decided to live together with Irene.... except she died without them knowing. All in all I can't stop praising this as a shounen piece lol. In a show where every character has the exact same armor, hair color, eye color, and weapon, to be able to make a cast with definitive traits, goals, personalities, is just absolutely amazing.
Zero H Indeed one of the best mangas out there. I really wish they finished the manga first before they made the anime, so they wouldnt have had to make an alternate ending which is very very sad. But on the bright side they can reboot the anime and start all over again.
In the manga ending when Teresa came back, Teresa awakened form was the Goddess itself. Priscilla full prowess was merely a sneeze for Teresa. “Faint smile” means she try not to show her god-tier full power so she just smiles faintly every time.

Always felt bad for Irene. She was stuck in a generation that had the likes of Teresa and Priscilla. If those two were not present she most likely would have been the current no. 1 of her time. Just a mere quick sword release on Ophelia wounded her to the point where she had to awaken to overcome her injuries.
I never thought Priscilla was ever a true contender for the throne of best Claymore. She has physical attributes that closely rivals Teresa but no preemptive yoki sensing which meant to me that the higher they powered up the easier it would get for Teresa to read her so long as Teresa's yoki levels were up to par which we know they were.
Well, irene was never considered to be even equal to previous number ones either.
There were some characters who were not number one but still had the ability inside them to be one & they were mentioned at least once as to be able to become number one. Unfortunately the manga has zero statements about Irene even being close to previous number ones.
Characters like raphaela, miata, europa & even the young twins were not number one but was considered to have the potential to be one. Miria even defeated a former number one who faught irene rosemary & some of the other top tiers with mentioned name at once. Histeria even took out half of the claymore ranks & only lost because of theresa.
Unfortunately, Irene never showed any feat that puts her on par with known number ones. She could be one in a weaker generation. But not on raphaela, alicia, riful, isely or cassandra's generations. Perhaps roxanne but its still debatable as roxanne is the second most versatile claymore in history after theresa, who could naturally do any techniques just by seeing, even better than the creator of the technique.
So, bottom line is, irene isnt comparable to any number ones that we know of from the manga except maybe roxanne.
Unfortunately we can only consider the context in which Irene was mentioned. No. 2 & 3 of her generation doesn't dream of trying to take her on. She catches No. 4 of Clare's generation with a Quicksword that was nearly fatal. That same No. 4 who just wasted an awaken being rather easily prior to being owned by Irene. That she willingly gave up No. 2 position to Priscilla and is repeatedly bested by Teresa does not belittle her in the least as those 2 were the best Claymores by far of any generation.
Her Quicksword in comparison to all known high level "learned" techniques seems to me atleast to be of the highest caliber. Also the time frame in which Irene appears, the viewer has little to no knowledge of Claymore generations or even Awakened Beings so of course we won't have any mention of "where she stands vs x generation member." I will say I find her more impressive then Miata, the twins or Europa, etc that were "hyped" by the organization.
I really can't comment on Alicia, Riful or Isley, and other already Awakened Beings, since we don't get to see any of their human Claymore feats but rather only get to glimpse them while they're already in their Abyssal state. I know that Isley got props from Raki and that other male Claymore as being a superb swordsman.
We also must consider that the Organization has been wrong on MANY occasions. They thought Teresa was strong but didn't know how monstrously strong she truly was. They thought Clare a complete failure. They had no knowledge that Miria and co. that had partially awakened were all equal or superior to currently ranked single digits. They claimed that Alicia would be the strongest Claymore ever.
Sir Isley Well, if we are going to consider how none of her generations top tier wanted to challenge her, then how can we ignore the statement by herself that she wont stand a chance against raphaela even with both hands? We cant right since it came directly from her.
Now, raphaela &
lucilia were on par as they were able to take succeed to some degree on the awakening during experiment periods. Even if we say that the organization was wrong, this is a fact tho. Also, they organization did say that they both had roughly the same amount of youki. Lucilia got beaten by isely but they were almost euqals as isely didnt have the stamina to chase after Lucilia to finish the job either. By that, we can say that isely was a bit stronger than both rapahela & lucilia when it came to youki that is.
Since irene herself admitted that she cant beat raphaela even in her prime, then yeah she is weaker than Lucilia & isely.
Now, when lucilia awakened, riful went to meet her & asked het to tag team isely to take him out. She refused saying that, once they beat isely, riful will probably kill her as well. Shows that, riful was most likely a bit stronger than lucilia as well.
In other words, irene is weaker than riful too.
Now, exclude theresa & priscilla. Even the claymores can read whether its an abyssal one or not just by measuring their yoki. Thats how they even kept track of the battle rosemarry & co. vs riful.
So, its safe to say that most number one awakened with comparable yoki when they do awaken.
About her quick sword, i think ita opinion based. Rippling sowrd will give someone who doesnt have quick sword a very hard time. QS was basically the perfect counter to it. But while QS needs your arm to be completely awaken which vosts way more concentration & yoki, rippling sowrd doesnt. So, its more of a safe technique.
To me, raphaela has the best technique. Her ability doesnt depend on others. She can keep track of any movements within the threards she spreads around & has almost instinctive leg reflex. But again, its opinion based. Some prefef damage(irene QS), some speed(hysteria miria- phantom), some prefer stealth skills (roxanne, priscilla & theresa), some likes to be unpredictable (cassandra), some wants to play it safe (galatea, raphaela) etc.
To me, miata was obviously way more impressive than irene. Her ability to heighten all of her senses to the point where it can be called a sixth sense without even using yoki is baddass. She also ripped yoma with bare hands. Of course irene would win against pre- Clarice death miata since she was unstable. The twins can awaken. All they lack are real battle experience which they got from the biggest battle in history of claymore. I doubt they need anything other than time to completely dominate irene.
Alicia was able to keep a hold onto beth & dodge Rifuls attacks in human form even after that rough battle. She took out 10 awakened beings by herself! i doubt irene could do that.
Well, i wouldnt say the organization was wrong. They simoly didnt have enough information. Theresa never released her powers completely in her lifetime. There was no way the organization could know of her true potential. But they still understood that she clearly deserved number one position. So i wouldnt say completely wrong or right.
About half awakeneds, remember that rubul hid it from the organization. They simply didnt know half awakening was a thing. Besides, claire was still a failure tho. Even at the end, her yoki ran out faster than cinthia against priscilla even when she used way more yoki than them. In the end she needed to do soul link awakening. While miria was still capable of fighting hysteria even after reaching to the point where she couldnt even reattach her hands properly. Shows that the difference in yoki is still there. What she avhieved was irene's arm & developed or rather copied theresa's skill. There was also an statement by cynthia that even if she could outrun yuma, cynthia would catch up to her in no time. Show's that there are still some differences between a true single digit & claire.
Well, isely was dead lucilia as well. The only abyssal that wouldve been left after rifuls death wouldve been alicia (they didnt know about Priscilla being the strongest). So, its sorta not completely wrong tho xD. Had they known about priscillas true power & still said that alicia is the strongest then they would be wrong. But once they found out priscillas existence, the organization knew there was one very poweful being.
Ah I forgot about the Irene vs Raphaela encounter. Can't remember the exact words exchanged but I always took it as Irene saying "well even if I had 2 arms it'd be no guarantee I'd be able to beat you," in response to Raphaela's "well I heard you had only one arm but it seems you have none now...too bad." I mean you're not gonna exactly go "well you're lucky I don't have 2 arms or else I'd kick your ass" to someone who's gonna kick your ass when you don't have any arms. Irene at that point had pretty much given up the warrior lifestyle too so instead of becoming more powerful as time went by which I believe most Claymores do get, she had probably regressed.
However I've always felt she was a bit of a walking contradiction as her technique requires full arm awakening and full youki mastery as to not let the rest of the body follow suit yet somehow this doesn't qualify as that "half awakening" that the rest of Miria and co. benefitted from.
I don't remember Riful wanting to team up with Luciela to kill Isley pre Priscilla era. Logically speaking that whole "we're lucky to have a 3 way split between the Abyssals" that Rubel or whoever it was spouted seemed nonsensical because in my eyes Isley was stronger then either Luciela or Riful individually. So there really was nothing stopping Isley from stomping out Riful when she first awakened other then he didn't care for it. Same with going to topple the Organization because obviously Isley could have easily taken the whole island for himself seeing as he was the only No. 1 of his generation and if all the males from 1-5 had awaken who did the Organization have to rely on? Some freshly minted female potential No. 1? Even if a female Claymore No. 1 stepped up, I doubt she in human form could take an Awakened Isley on.
Part of the reason I don't like the "hyped" up No. 1 potentials like Miata is because they lack any combat perception. What good is all that strength and heightened senses going to do for you if you can't even tell that you're being chipped to death by that "Bloody Mary" what's her face Awakened Being. As to the twins Alicia and Beth, they're practically both Awakened Beings so comparing them to any non Awakened Claymore is a bit unfair.
As for Clare, the series doesn't seem to do her much justice imo. She's only 1/4th yoma yet they make it seem like she's got all the drawbacks of the 1/2 yoma warriors and no benefit of any sort. She should have been able to control her half Awakened state or yoma abilities MUCH better on account of being the most human of any Claymore out there.
Anyways we're getting off tangent here. I personally feel that a non disheartened Irene who still continually trained with both arms intact, in that x amount of years isolation that she was in hiding could have been a contender for top. I don't remember if Priscialla vaporized her arm, but memory recalls her just tossing it casually back to Irene or to side saying something like "you shouldn't leave your parts lying casually about." If some lowbie like Clare could reattach her limbs then I don't see why Irene couldn't either save for plot.
Sir Isley. To be fair, pricsilla was a just a child. Who knows how her fighting style would have developed if she lived longer before awakening.

Irene and the other two are responsible for Priscilla ending up in a fate worse then death. By not helping Theresa they let loose a true terror, and destroyed the soul of a impressionable little girl who had no business being involved in war.

Yeah I wasn't fond of her having such a power boost after awakening but going as far as calling her a bad character... not really. Her psychology was interesting and she had several cool moments. Teresa didn't need an explanation lol, some people are geniuses among geniuses that's all.

Teresa was heavily underestimated. Yeah she could sense peoples movements but her unrestricted raw power was also second to none. Irene failed to realize that.

She then processed to kill Noel and Sophia. Elena barely makes it out alive, but loses her arm in the process - and thus leaves the organization to become a hermit.
Claire weeps over Teresa's body and uses said body to become a Claymore herself and joins the organization.

That moment when a character is so broken that the big bad of the series has to resort to a cheap shot to kill it, and even that only just barely works.
Teresa was my favorite character in the anime (Priscilla the least)... Having her beating up 4 other characters at once really showed her power...
I will never get tired of watching this. This battle definitely scratched that itch. Love seeing Tersea hand it to them.

well tbh.. miria was the most baddass in the manga.. but teresa n Priscella was indeed strongest.. now i say miria is cuz.. she literally turned the organizations power against it.. now thats some cool shit! she was no where near a rank one.. yet defeated one of the strongest number one in a very unique manner.. she literally took on every warrior n killed none.. that was baddass at its peak.. of course i think teresa is cool n all.. but all of them were created by the organization.. if the organization stayed.. maybe in a few hundred years.. even teresa n Priscella wouldve been surpassed.. considering the organization kept doing their research.. also made some crazy stuffs.. so taking down the source of all power.. that is the best thing! she created a plan to save comrades even when the chances were zero.. thats baddass! this is one of the few anime where the most powerful one didnt seem the most baddass rather.. a side character.. who struggled!

Teresa shares the same parallels as Itachi, reading yoki and seeing the next move is the same as the sharingan. The opponent expends so much energy trying to overwhelm you while you never leave second gear just relying on anticipation and guile. All the while keeping your battle strength and motives a mystery coupled with massive IQ battle sense is what makes them both so terrifying.
Imagine going up against an opponent who is immeasurably strong(don't know or assume to know strength ceiling in the case of Elena), you don't know their motives, they have the keen ability to read your movements and come up with lethal tactics in the heat of combat based on observing you.
It forces your opponent to succumb to desperation which just plays into the sharingan/yoki read ability, it's genius. Another great anime that uses this trait is Rurouni Kenshin.
Theresa has and will always be in a league of her own. No one even comes close. Priscilla nearly awakened got owned by a 10% power Theresa, even fully awakened, Priscilla would absolutely get shitstomped by Theresa if she actually tried.

Have u read the manga? This anime made me read manga from time to time and in my opinion this anime is so underrated given the fact that the actual story and plot is really well written. Such a pity this anime has never been finished so in case u want to know how it ends I highly recommend you to finish the story by reading manga.

As good as this fight is, I thought it was made even better when Irene shows up later, one handed, and is so very unimpressed with the Claymores of the next generation.
The dubbing here is excellent. I've watched this years ago and yet got to say it again.
You don't even know what you're missing if you haven't seen the final battle in the manga. The manga is one of my all time favorites and the show is cut so criminally short =( I mean that very literally yall. The show essentially cuts off before we even get close to the halfway point of the manga. They leave out years and years of story! Read the manga, its incredible!
we need another adaptation of the anime, following the manga! Justice for teresa!
