My 2014 V6 convertible has 89000 miles. No problems. Great runner. Just beautiful. Used by community in many parades. I love having a car that you do not see everyday.on the road. Real attention getter.
The longer I drove it the more I loved it too. Hope you can find both (rwd/ awd) to test drive and see what you like more. Your daily is a BMW 4 series? How's that holding up? Thanks for commenting, have a good one!
@radiobits3007 I live in the uk and chose the AWD as i wanted something i could enjoy driving with confidence in all weathers. I can honestly say that even when it's raining, the grip is insane and i dont get any noticeable wheel spin even from a standing start. The rwd is apparently a tenth of a second quicker to 60mph, but i bet if you put the two side by side in anything but perfect hot conditions, the AWD would be quicker. That being said, If I lived in a country with mostly warm weather or tracked the car, I think I'd prefer the rwd.
Nothing beats an owner review! Cheers! A tenth of a second is timeable but not noticeable either. I saw a German counterpart that the AWD was quicker from 0-60 but slower at high/top speed. Again a couple of tenths. Based on driveability and safety aspects you made the right choice. Cheers Matt
I bought a 2016 3.0 S manual transmission coupe this past May, 29,000 miles on it. I'd never driven an F-Type, one very rarely even sees one in the mostly rural New Hampshire, USA area where I live. I found the car 2,000 miles away in Denver, Colorado, had it shipped. It was a big leap of faith for me, it was by far the most expensive car I've ever bought. I really like it, a special event to drive. Of course I can never really stretch its legs but it is satisfying to drive on the hilly and curvy backroads here. Manual transmission F-Types are quite rare, only made in 2016-17, few bought them then. The car shares the garage with my 2016 Mazda MX-5, a car more at home on local roads. The Jaguar shifter feel is lighter and has longer throws than the Miata but then not many cars can rival that car's gear shift. My F-Type has never seen winter roads nor salt, it never will while I have it. Best of luck with your channel, I hope it swiftly grows.
Wow, thank you for your great story and little sneak peak in your passion about cars. I hope you can enjoy your Jaguar as long as you possibly can. Good choice to keep it in the garage during winter / salty conditions. Are you going to the Jaguar dealership for maintenance or do you have someone local who can do it as well? All the luck is welcome :) Thank you again.
@@passionateaboutcars The nearest dealer is way down in the southern part of New Hampshire. I'm hoping that with 5,000 or so miles a year it won't need anything other than oil changes when I put it up for the winter. Those are done from the top of the engine, oil is sucked out from a steel tube under the oil filler cap, I bought a pump from Harbor Freight to do that. Jaguar says will should be changed at 15,000 miles, ludicrous, I'll do it every 5-7,000.
Good call to do a oil change once a year regardless of the mileage. Besides oil and oil filter I would look into the brake fluid as well. It's every 48000 miles Jaguar says, but I would change it every 2-3 years for safety reasons. This is what I did with my classic car. In 2-3 years ( or sooner) you might check the drive belt and compressor belt. I believe it's either 10 years or a X amount of miles?
Ha ha. I have my 2017 Jaguar F-TYPE coupe (43k miles) sharing my garage with my 1991 Miata (61k miles). I have probably spent less than $1,000 on repairs of the Miata in 32 years.
@@mrek2068 very nice! After spending an hour or two in the Jag I can say that the last two options are very handy ☺️ Maybe a must have?! Enjoy the car hunt! Cheers Matt
Great vid, informative. Im going to test drive an f type v6s and an f10 m5 on Wednesday, exciting times 🎉think im gonna go for the jag though something a bit different compared to everyday beemers..... what do you think is the best car ?
Hey Lukas, appreciated your feedback! 🙌 oof, that's a tough question, but exciting times!! Well, I named my dog Beemer, does that say enough? 😂 But serious, they are different types of cars to compare, but I'm with you that the Jag stands out to the other everyday cars. Steering is incredibly direct and the suspension nice and sporty, which reminds me a lot from the BMW's I've owned. (E30, E36 & E90/E91) Based on my age and where I am in life I would go for a bit more practical.....😉 Take you time and have fun Wednesday! Cheers Matt pacenquires@gmail.com
@@passionateaboutcarsCouldn’t really call the dog JAGUAR 😂 On a serious note I love my F type V8 AWD 2017 great car And I personally would pick it over a BMW

My F-Type S is my daily driver. Love it.
Wow, pleasurable miles every day!
I could imagine the F type as a daily driver. After doing this video it makes even more sense
I've had my beautiful F Type for 9 years with no problem, best car I've ever d.
Wow, for 9 years. That's awesome.
Just sold it or trade it in for something else?
10 years on mine and running strong - not ONE issue! 🙂
That's very good! And how are the maintenance costs?

Well done! Are you going to double up the miles James? It ages very well for nearly a decade.
Same!
If the brakes don’t feel right there must be something wrong. I have an F-Type and you only have to look at the brake pedal and it stands on its nose!
It was mainly with higher speeds, 65mph and higher. Could be the pads and or rotors too?!
Test drove one of these not too long ago, agreed. I have some decent brakes on my car, but the F Type brakes threw me forward out of my seat nearly
Haha, good to know! "My" brakes needed changing or were glazed up I reckon
Love this car hoping to own it in about a year.it’s so beautiful still deciding if to go with rwd or awd with the v6

Congrats! What are the specs of the F-type?
@passionateaboutcars I am hoping for a 'S' budget allowing, or a well spec'd V6. Must have heated seats, switchable exhaust, and camera.

true
More comparable with a Cayman i would have thought
I guess you are right. A 911 has more gogo than this V6 S.
They used the 911 against the top tier F-type
The base model looks like shit
