  • Acrisius was once the king of Argos that defied the Gods and lay a siege on Olympus, rallying his armies, Zeus decided to make of Acrisius an example to all humanity by becoming the king himself and making love to his wife and queen, breeding a son. Acrisius, being overwhelmed cursed Zeus by trying to throw his wife and the child in her to the sea, but a lighting strikes him deforming half of his face and half of his body, transforming him into Calibos.

    This remake was basically 'Paradise Lost' meeting 'Bathsheba & David' along Arthurian lore.
    Both King Acrisius and Hades were two different iterations of Milton's Lucifer/Samael/the Serpent/Satan, with Acrisius being simultaneously Uriah the Hivite and Gorlois of Tintagel.
    Zeus was intermittently the Judeo-Christian God/Yahveh, King David, the prophet Samuel, Uther Pendragon, Merlin and Metatron/Enoch/Theuth. Perseus is Raphael, Adam, King Arthur, King Solomon, Gawain, Percival and the latter's bastard son Morien the Blacke Knight at once. Helios the Sun-God was Michael, Hermes's Gabriel, and so on and forth.
    I cannot figure out who would he Io in this story, though.

    Poor Danaë, she doesn't deserve this, I feel bad and sad for her! Is not her fault, just because the king felt shame, he killed her. Zeus all he did, hit the king with a thunderbolt. He didn't even care about his child Or the woman with whom he had a sexual relationship with, as usual!

    • @agenttheater5
      @agenttheater5 4 года назад +27

      She almost had it even tougher in the original myth, except that in the original myth she actually survives - that's kind of the whole point of the myth of Perseus. See, what really happened was that Danae was actually the daughter of King Acricius (I think that's how you spell his name, not sure) and one day he heard a prophecy saying that he'd be killed by his grandson. To prevent that from happening he locked his daughter in an underground cell. To get through the bars, Zeus transformed himself into a shower of golden light that fell on her and impregnated her (you can just hear the jokes high school boys would make when they heard that). When she gave birth to a baby boy she named Perseus, her father heard the baby crying in the cell, he then had his daughter and his grandson placed in a bow and thrown into the sea. It washed up on the shore of another kingdom and both the still living Danae and baby Perseus were rescued by a fisherman and his wife. Things were fine until the king of that country decided that he wanted to marry Danae, she said no and so did Perseus, so the king tricked Perseus into agreeing to bring him back the head of the gorgon Medusa - "You have two weeks to come back with her head or I'm marrying your mother." Princess Andromeda doesn't enter the story till after he's killed Medusa, and he doesn't fulfil the prophecy and kill his grandfather until after this story is over, and that was actually an accident.

    • @dahianaaquino6661
      @dahianaaquino6661 2 года назад +11

      Well, first off. King Acrisus was not her husband. He was her Dad. He heard a prophecy that said that his daughter would give birth to a son who would kill him and claim his throne. So he locked his daughter away in a cell so she could never marry( back then, killing your relatives was a big no-no). So then later on Zeus visited her in her cell as a shower of gold coins and baby Perseus was conceived. Nine months later Acrisus visits his daughter and discovers she has a child who he can’t kill because it’s Zeus’s kid. So he l old them in a box that he send to the sea hoping they’ll die.
      Ps. In the original myth both mother and child survive and Perseus grows up raised by his mother and aware of his parentage.

      @@agenttheater5We have at least three similar tales in Central Africa that are similar. One about an African king who had to get rid of his mother's tyrannical people and the latter's father, who happened to be the tyrant-- likely a mythified iteration of the story of XVIIIth Dynasty Pharaoh Ahmose I, who was indeed related to the Hyksos dynasty via his Egypto-Greek Myceanean-Hyksos mother Ahhotep/Io (whose own father was a Hyksos prince and son to the king of Avaris) .
      Another tale about an African prince from a far-flung country, some 3,000 years ago, who encountered a swarthy skinned Oriental princess imprisoned in a tower. I ended up to find out that it was originally an ancient Egyptian semi-legendary tale about how a Ramessid crown prince encountered a Canaanite princess whose father was momentarily hostile to Egyptian dominion.
      Then another third tale, about how a thousand years ago or less, the exact same events reoccured as by a twist in the thread of fate between the distant descendants of the two latter heroes in Central Africa: an indigenous ruler from a people related to the Anamongos who had his daughter imprisoned into a tower, after that he has been prophecized that his grandson would kill him. His daughter get delivered by an Anamongo king, birthed a son together and eventually, the son accidentally killed his own grandfather. The Bahimas said that the latter legend wss actually a historical egent that happened some 830 years ago: a tyrant from an usurper dynasty reigning iver thr Empire of Kitara had his daughter imprisoned into a tower, delivered by a ruling descendant of the legitimate Chwezi Dynasty, had the son adopted by frontier cattle herders, then eventually at grown age, he had a cattle dispute with the king (whom he ignored he was his biological grandfather) and killed him. Found out about his heritage and get crowned emperor of the new dynasty.
