For one of the most spectacular views in Jamaica, travel to Spur Tree Hill in Manchester Parish. The Spur Tree Hill road zig-zags down the length of the steep Don Figueroa Mountains, affording views over the plains of Saint Elizabeth Parish, dotted with small towns and smoke rising from the chimneys of the aluminium plants.
The road is home to several small restaurants, mainly specialising in Jerk food, making Spur Tree Hill a good scenic option if you're looking to break up your journey with a food stop.
Spur Tree is believed to be named after the giant cotton trees which used to adorn the area, billowing out plumes of "spurs" in to the air.
Warning! The zig-zagging steep road is an accident hotspot. If you are driving here then please drive carefully, staying well within the speed limit. If you want to admire the view then stop the car at one of the many restaurants along the way - you can treat yourself to some chicken and curry goat.

The houses are really nice, but the landscape is bad. Also, the roads are not properly constructed, and clearly marked. This is so typical of housing development in Jamaica. Than for the video, though.

And, it is not a 'lot' of land either. After building, you will be lucky to have crawling space left.

Hello, I would like to know how you got into this gated community and was able to film all this information. As a resident I am very curious, as I pay for security, so would like to know how access was given to you. Did you just drive in, without being granted access etc??
Hi Karen, please note the date this video was film. Other people are interesting in living in this gated community, because it seems to be a nice place. I didn't fly over the community... I saw people working and ask if it was ok to film, but didn't know that they were not looking sales and airbnb clients, so maybe I was foolish to think so. Have a great day!

I'm not doubting that what you are doing is positive, but it goes to highlight the fact that, what i thought was gated and secure, is not! If you as a lay person can come in off the street and film into a gated community like that, how am I to feel safe. Now, do you see my point? You entering a private gated place without permission is actually trespassing, hence why I will take this up with management. As mentioned earlier, I do pay for private security and maintenance so to see this, is definitely a breach. Furthermore, you were not given permission by management to film this, so it makes me wonder how secure this place really is! Happy job hunting was not an offence, so no need to be so dreary about it! It actually means that I wish you well. Tara for now!

Hi if I had known helping Jamaicans overseas to find a nice environment and clean area to reside would bring all this, when Palm Brock Estate and more established Gated community wanted to pay me so much to this, I saw men working and ask if I could come in and video for my viewers overseas and they said ok..
