OMGawd! I remember secretly reading my mother's book called 'Bloody Bay', by Sandra Riley waay back in 1980. I was 11 and it was the most raunchy book on the life of Anne Bonny and her sexy, piratical adventures on the high seas. I read it in one afternoon and it was full of obscene scenarios, murder, vengeance, tragedy, love, lust, courage, and salty language. Let's just say her 'busy' love life was a page turner. Anne was a very popular girl, with ardent admirers across the Carribbean. It's still one of the most shocking, scintillating, unique books I've ever read. The video was fascinating and your review of Anne's bio, as a tough, fearless pirate gave viewers an informative, compelling, unbiased account of Anne's real life. She was a very complex, intriguing woman. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. Your research is also impressive.☮️🇦🇺
Aw, thank you so much! That's very kind, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. ☺ And I'm definitely not currently looking on Amazon for a copy of that book right now. Not at all. 😂
oooh Idk her story at all! Love to know about someone completely new to me (also disappearing when young is appealing to the story👀) I’ve been busy as heck lately so to have a new story to learn while working is amazing :) thanks!
According to some accounts, the accidental shot, and the accidental reveal of Jack Rackham, was because the crew was drunk, which was also why they didn't fight well--except for the two women, who were sober. Ann did shout at Jack, after his sentencing, "If you had fought like a man, you wouldn't hang like a dog!"
It is about time a movie about Anne Bonny and Mary Read was made, two previous movies in 1980 and 1993 never got made. If not a movie a tv series would be OK.
I was very confident it was Sunday evening, I was waiting and waiting… thankfully I thought to search the channel but this is certainly a sad turn of events
Oh no! ☹ To be honest, it's not garnered up a lot of views (I know all videos are subjective, but there's a sort of baseline for them as well, and it hasn't even hit that which is unusual), so I wonder if it's RUclips fiddling around with some settings?
Love your content! Have you, by chance, done a video on the other Irish female pirate, Grace O’Malley? She’s actually my 13th GG and lived a very fascinating life. 😊
Now, question wise, who is, or was, your favourite Disney Princess? Ikik, came out of nowhere😭 but Lindsay Holiday’s latest videos reminded me of it haha Mine was and is Aurora- I admit, when I was a kid it was because of her pink dress😭😭 now it’s mainly for my interest in the Medieval World :)
It has to be Mulan for me (although it was Belle when I was younger). I still sort of love Belle, but the whole Mulan-not-fitting-in-the-world story definitely appealed to weird teenager me, haha. 😂 As a grown up woman, I love how the crux of the story is basically that she saves China by simply being herself, and by being a woman (the fans, etc.).
Hi, awesome live history video I enjoyed it. How are you doing? Are you ready for Christmas? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. I'm ready for Christmas. I got a can of tuna for my cat Benjamin for Christmas. Do you have any pets? Have a great day 😊 your history videos are always enjoyable and wonderful 😊 see you next video
I do - we have a little cat called Mallard (after the steam locomotive, not the duck, haha!). I'm a lot less ready for Christmas than I normally am, but I'll get everything done hopefully this week!
Hi @michelleBruce-lo4oc• How are you & Benjamin? Me & my puppy Honey are doing well. I love how you always include Benjamin. Im 42, and with my children grown, i got my 1st pet, a puppy i named Honey. She’s a huge part of my life and fills my emotional energy like no person has ever done. I hope to read future comments, updating RUclips on you & the kittys lives
You left out the story that after Rackham’s mainmast was short down, the men went below depths to drink away their woes while Anne Bonnie & Mary Read tried in vain to fight off Barnet’s forces while cussing the men for their cowardice or is that just made up. I have another Sea Queen to add to your list, Tsuruhime of Omishima, a 17-yr old Japanese princess who commanded a small fleet to defend her island kingdom of Tsuruhime against the larger fleet of the Japanese mainland. I think you’ll find her story very much to your liking 😊
I didn't come across that story in the sort of 'proper' sources, so I'm not sure if it is made-up or not! It could be that it simply wasn't included in what I read, or it could be real. Having said that, the main source for Anne's life comes from an 18th century book about famous pirates, and it's thought its heavily embellished, so who knows! 😂
I have a Large Pirate Tattoo on my back of a depiction of Ann Bonny in full Pirate Dress! Shes on a Beach with her long Firey Red Hair with a boot on a Tresure Chest! Shes holding a Rum Bottle in one hand and a Pistol in the other!

Why didn't you do mary read?

if you like her check out Grace O'Mally or Mary Reed
Fascinating content about the intricate life of Anne Bonny, a fearless pirate. Excellent work as always. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! ☺
Wonder how much is fact and the rest slanders and accusations.
Excellent as always; a very fascinating lady!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I completely agree, I never knew of her, I enjoy these videos.
Can't believe there isn't a television series about anne and mary, it would be a fascinating show.

I would LOVE to watch that.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were lesbian lovers.
Anne Bonny was featured in Black Sails and the Pirates of the Caribbean documentary, both now on Netflix!
Love your History Channel 🎉
Aw, thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it. ☺
The History Channel needs to hire you!
This is amazing. Contrary to outward appearances, I am in fact a pirate of the high seas
I believe it! I look forward to adding your video to my channel at some point in the future. 😂
Are u really serious?
What happened to Mary Read's baby she had in prison?
I remember learning about Anne on Ruining History with Ryan and Shane from Buzzfeed Unsolved.
Who was worse Anne or Mary?
What become of the babies borne in prison?
Why am I not getting notifications now 😢

I wonder if Anne Bonney was descended of Grania O'Malley, the 16th C. Irish Woman Pirate?
❤❤❤
I ended up here because I love the Song about her, she's fascinating!
Which song is that?
Talk. About Thelma and luease
You're right, there is absolute Thelma and Louise energy from those two!

Wonder if she was abused which would explain her violent temper?
Like deployed 👍
