If you teleport to Dalmasca Estersand and play the fishing game you can get the starletite needed for tournesol and kumbha much faster than the turtle. Takes about an hour to finish and then ~20 minutes to get scarletite from the best fishing spot AND you get adamantite at the same time.

You can steal the Coeurl Whisker from Grimalkin (Trophy Rare Game). Its the only item you can steal from him so you will steal it for sure. It has 10% chance of replacing one of the Coeurls in the Uazcuff Hills area of the Tchita Uplands. Once you steal the item dont kill it, leave 2 zones and make it respawn again and steal again. You can make this after you reach Phon Coast so basicly run to Tchita Uplands, steal the item 2x (other items you should already have) and you can craft the weapon so much sooner before Great Crystal. It's really annoying especially those rare drops. Luckily, if you use the FF12RNGHelper it can guarantee steals to be 100% and make random chests to always have the rare item like the ones in Cerobi Steppes. It still takes a lot of work though, but it beats having to sit there and keep trying for hours just to get the item you want.

You don't need anything on this list. Almost everything can be obtained in Trial Mode yes. You don't even need to get anything from Trial Mode. The weapons thr game gives to you via progression / side content is easy enough to beat this game
@Resistakill of course that doesn't mean they are automatically easy to obtain(in high level areas or rewards from high level hunts), but they are definitely more fun than poaching and stealing various materials all over the world with awful drop rates. You can even ignore all that if getting super technical as the shop weapons and gear is still enough

I haven't ever finished, mainly because I am a completionist, getting close to the end and then looking to find everything I could that the game had to offer (on PS2). On PC, I haven't gotten very far.
No and No, however for items that share ingredients it's a good idea to sell them at the same time. For example, Kumbha and Tournesol both use Gemsteel. If you sell two Gemsteel and then buy Kumbha you will need to make another three Gemsteel to make Tournesol, meaning you need to make five Gemsteel total. Which is a nightmare. If instead you sell three Gemsteel, and all the other ingredients to make Kumbha and Tournesol at the same time you'll get both of them in the bazaar, because they both share the three Gemsteel you sold. This can save hours for some of the harder to get loot - for example just the Scarletite for the Gemsteel takes 10-20 minutes per steal.
Awesome guide, one question though. Must you sell all the loots in one go? Or can it be sold like if you collect one of the loot, sell it and collect more of the same loot and sell it again? Can you still get the reward after, if it's done that way?
Bro... Thanks very much for the video.. But guys... Are you sure the game isn't broken or something.. I have the Dragoon monograph.. Yet I've killed around 30 Archeoaveis and I haven't got even a single emperor scale!! I can't believe it!! Like the drop rate is said to be 14% yet I couldn't get any!! Is there absolutely anyone who was able to get one of them from the Archeoaveis?
You can poach it from them looks like it drops too it's conflicting depending what part of the guide I look at. I know I'm way late but I have the official guide and that's what it's telling me.
They can reach more damage with the right setup (1hp + genji gloves) but it's seriously not worth the hassle farming the materials and doing the setup when you can still steamroll the game with weapons given to you as you just play the games story (like holy lance) or do the optional areas (excalibur, whale whisker, dragon whisker, masamune karkata etc etc) Oil, Decoy, and Cat Ear Hood are good to get from the guild bazaar though
Even Kumbha isn't necessary at all. All you need if you are running two melee characters is Excalibur and Holy Lance. On anything that absorbs holy just equip anything else that's non elemental. Sure it wouldn't be as fast at actually killing the bosses but the difference isn't so great that it's worth all the hassle gathering the materials In my opinion though one blm + excalibur is the most balanced. I actually ran two blm sometimes. Double up on the aoe and scathe/ardor will hit enemies before the knight even gets in range (and they only hit single targets too)
The amount of RNG for late game gear and anything exclusive to chests in general kills me. I have a soft spot for 12, but man it's such a slog and kinda cryptic once you start tackling endgame shit. How is anyone expected to get this stuff without a guide? lol
Yeah, I kind of wish they at least showed in the bazaar the requirements and how many loot you have sold so far so it'll be much faster to track. The good thing is we can easily manipulate most of the steals and chests so it won't take so many hours now with the FF12RNGHelper. It can even help with the lvl99 RedChocobo to spawn 100% guaranteed.
you're NOT expected to get this stuff without a guide, that was the incentive to buy the guide in the first place. You can easily beat the game without any of this late game equipment
@@propanenaccessories Well yeah, if you bring shit like a yagyu darkblade genji setup into the end of the campaign it's a joke, but it is very useful, almost necessary to have items like that for the optional endgame content and trials mode. What gets me is that a lot of this stuff isn't difficult to pick up, it's just tedious and time consuming for no reason. You can find multiple walkthroughs and guides online now for free, I dunno why the zodiac age port needs this ps2 era jank brought over. They did rebalance and move item locations around, but the random chest shit remains. I get it for the dumb overpowered invisible weapons, but I'd rather earn good items instead of having to run back and forth into a room for an hour trying to make a 1% chest spawn.

Ok, do these items have to be turned in at the same time or sold to the same exact vendor in order to unlock the bazaar good?
Why so many changes in weapons name and attack power
Awesome guide, one question though. Must you sell all the loots in one go? Or can it be sold like if you collect one of the loot, sell it and collect more of the same loot and sell it again? Can you still get the reward after, if it's done that way?

They can reach more damage with the right setup (1hp + genji gloves) but it's seriously not worth the hassle farming the materials and doing the setup when you can still steamroll the game with weapons given to you as you just play the games story (like holy lance) or do the optional areas (excalibur, whale whisker, dragon whisker, masamune karkata etc etc)
Oil, Decoy, and Cat Ear Hood are good to get from the guild bazaar though
Kumbha is good the rest arent worth mention. Tournesol is good too
Even Kumbha isn't necessary at all. All you need if you are running two melee characters is Excalibur and Holy Lance. On anything that absorbs holy just equip anything else that's non elemental. Sure it wouldn't be as fast at actually killing the bosses but the difference isn't so great that it's worth all the hassle gathering the materials
In my opinion though one blm + excalibur is the most balanced. I actually ran two blm sometimes. Double up on the aoe and scathe/ardor will hit enemies before the knight even gets in range (and they only hit single targets too)
I can't get it to work for some reason.... Do you have to sell the items at same time or does it matter when you sell them just as long as you have?
Once you meet the sell requirements the item stays unlocked until you buy it
Nice guide bro thx! e.e
IF YOU ARE PLAYING THE 2006 VERSION OF THE GAME YOU ALSO NEED DRAGOON MONOGRAPH FOR VRSCIKA (please pin this)
The amount of RNG for late game gear and anything exclusive to chests in general kills me.
@@FakeHeroFang exactly, OPTIONAL. If you want to take advantage of everything the game has to offer, then check out our strategy guide for tips to find the strongest weapons and accessories. A pretty good reason to buy the guide, I'd say. Much better than today's games. I used the internet back then to find this stuff, but even with buying the guide, FFXII TZA has tons of value for your money
BEST FINAL FANTASY EVER!! ALL HAIL HIROYUKI ITO!!
Work in original ffxii?
Original ffxii doesnt have this special weapon. Only for IZJS and TZA version
Um, noob question: How do you have your camera zoom in on a enemy target?
Also this video is a huge help, just putting that out there.
+TheOuroboros777 no worries its either L2 or R2 just hold it down, but thanks a lot !
