Just got my first medical school acceptance--these videos keep me excited and help prepare me for the road ahead. Thanks for being so consistent, honest, and wonderful!!
make sure you start these boards and beyond videos right from the start and get on anki too. just like Rachel is doing, wish i did that in med school. Congratulations!!
Ahh medical students ..about to cry and throw up over an exam they did above average on lmao yikes ...but I know how it feels to study forever and still not ace and exam. You got this girl !
Hussain Kachwalla you can study and know everything and still not do your best on an exam...it doesn’t mean you failed but you didn’t get 100. I studied hard for an exam I got an 87 on I was bummed not at the grade but because i studied ALOT. And the exam just threw me
@@hussainkachwalla6941 Not true. I studied hundreds of hours for organic chemistry, hired tutors, altered my study methods, etc and received a B in the course. Some grades are simply unobtainable for certain people in my opinion.
I really love just jumping back to your old videos and watching them. There is something about them that I just don't get bored of them...and its so nice to see that you actually care and still react to your old videos :)
Highlight of the week per usual!!! Love that you show all of the ups and downs, even within the same hour! Watching you has really matured and given me a realistic expectation for med school. Thank you 😭
Can we all just acknowledge that the ending clips “okay bye” with the close up is the lost adorable thing ever and its now her thing in each video. I love it. Its so cute
Watching your studying techniques is so motivating !!! It’s my last year of undergrad and I’m pre med so seeing you be so real about med school being hard but staying positive about it is so reaffirming and appreciated !
ooo girl I had biochem, took one midterm failed it horribly, dropped the class and took a W, took the class again during the summer with a better mentality, and got an A+. YOU CAN DO THIS.
I'm rewatching your old vids for the nostalgia and I wish I comment for past Rachel to see and let her know how much you've grown and accomplished in these 4 years wow
its amazing that you are able to do all of this, and youtube. I know you said that you don't really watch TV and youtube is kinda like a hobby you really enjoy, but that doesn't change the fact that you are AMAZING for being to do it. Seeing you in medical school and KILLING it, makes me so happy. I love watching your videos and I look forward to them every time!
You’re killing it, you’re my inspo! I watch your channel when I’m feeling unmotivated. I appreciate your content, and I hope you know that you’re a badass!!
I'm in nursing school and you're SO inspiring! I was wondering how you're managing a long distance relationship during med school? I don't think I've heard you mention it, so if it's not something you want to talk about I understand :)
I am not studying Med although it was a path I once thought about! I am studying Psychology, however, I like your videos as it motivates me to work harder seeing how hard you are trying :) I have an assignment due on Monday and this morning I felt tired and I thought to myself "I can't do this"! Then I saw this video and first positive thing your video made me do was go on the treadmill and do some HIIT workout :) Then I came here to let you know how positive your video has been :) Now I am off to study and I am highly motivated :) Keep up with the videos and all the best with your studies...
hiii! i just recently discovered your channel. I graduated med school 2 yrs ago but watching your vid is like visiting my past self but hey you will get through it. if i feel down because of stress i always look up to my seniors. IF THEY CAN DO IT I CAN!!! so keep up the good work!
Keep going strong, you're doing great it seems. Like most others here i'd love to see your time management and how you break down a typical day for yourself. Also, the scheduling seems very bizarre for medical school, can you explain this a little bit in the next video? Thanks!
I relate so much to the wanting to vomit even after doing better than average on an exam. That was my whole experience in advanced physical organic chem.
I'm not in medical school yet... but these videos make me want to fast forward in time and start lol, you give me motivation to push through no matter what the situation is and be extremely productive. Thank you for uploading these videos your work ethic is out of this world a true inspiration keep it up !!! P.S you are gorgeous!!!
The mood change that you had is such a mood on its own lmao!! You're doing so well, you should be proud of yourself! I need to get used to being that good at time managing everything.
It's so crazy how schools vary in curriculum! I'm at OSM-1 at CUSOM and we're just finishing up block 1. We did cell bio/biochemistry, microbiology/immunology, anatomy, OMM, and clinical skills! Plus 2 pass/fail research and core competency classes. Very interesting to see how you're doing it!
So as someone that is going thru first year and that knows people in other schools that did it already. If I can give you and everyone else a crucial word of encouragement (an warning for those that haven't started). You are going to score low in at least one class. You have to remember that the amount of material is crazy and that every one has there strength and weaknesses. Don't get discourage if you get a C in a some classes, that is still a pass. Medical school is a marathon is a recollection of all your efforts in 4 years and at the end of the day you still get the same grade(title) and certifications as everyone else. Also don't expect to get an A on every class. The people that murder MD school like that are the exception not the rule. Just keep going forward, don't give up and you'll get there eventually.
Hey girl! I'm premed (taking my MCAT in a couple months) and I just stumbled upon these AWESOME videos. I love you!!! Thank you for these vlogs and for keeping it real💕 I'm proud of everything you are doing!
You got this! I started MS3 in June and it’s hard to be wrong all the time especially during pimping and to feel so inadequate (eg seeing consults and writing notes alone) after taking exams all of my life and generally doing well. I feel like we’re used to doing the best and it’s hard when everyone is the best in med school! Boards season is especially stressful and a mentally exhausting time so when that time comes don’t forget to take care of you! Now the days are 12-16 hours and 24 hour call on the weekends so try to enjoy the first years!!! Also we had to be in professional dress all the time and for exams so it’s nice they let you wear scrubs! Although do you wear the white coat every day??? I wore mine maybe 5 times in ms1/2 for practicals but only in June started wearing it all the time lol. It’ll be worth it! One day you’ll get to apply all that memorization to the real world! Good luck! ETA Lmao about the dendritic cells: “Here’s a gift....”
Well edited vlogs! I'm a fourth year at your school and definitely felt the pressure the first few weeks. However, it will all click at a point and become more and more fun!
Doing med-surg1, pharm, foundations and geriatrics in my BSN program right now, and while some weeks feel insane, most of the time I feel underwhelmed and bored. When I go too overboard on studying, I'll have an entire week off because of the lack of constant material overload. Med school has been calling to me, and I just can't shake it. Think this might be the kick I've been waiting for : )
