Case for 'overarching' review into child sexual exploitation in Manchester says Andy Burnham

When challenged on if there should be a nationwide inquiry into grooming gangs, Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, said there "is an ongoing, major inquiry and there has been a substantial report into what happened in Oldham."
He agreed there is a case for an inquiry beyond an individual, local council, adding he previously ordered an "overarching review" into how his region had handled the situation within days of becoming the mayor in 2017.
