- Ingredients for skin :
330g glutinous rice flour (糯米粉)
100g caster sugar (细砂糖)
3 tbsp oil (油)
*300ml ramie leaves mixture (厝叶混合物)
Ingredients for filling :
2 tbsp oil (油)
1 tbsp chopped garlic (蒜茸)
200g sweet dried radish, washed and drained (甜菜脯碎,洗净,沥干)
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce (黑酱油)
1/2 tsp pepper (胡椒粉)
1 tbsp sugar (砂糖)
2 tbsp water (水)
*60g dried ramie leaves (干厝叶)
700ml water (水)
1/2 tsp alkaline water (碱水)
Method: Cook the ramie leaves until softened. Blend in a food processor until smooth and fine, dish up and set aside leave to cool.
厝叶混合物 - 将洗净后的60g厝叶加入700ml水和1/2小匙碱水煮至软,趁热放入搅拌机里打至烂。

Couple of questions:
1) Is there any reason for sun-drying the ramie leaves? You're boiling them eventually.
2) Can I replace the banana leaves with screw pine leaves ("daun pandan" in Malay)?
Banana trees are scarce in my area but screw pines are growing like a weed in my garden.

1. fresh ramie leaf will give the green/dark green color whilst dried ones give black color. however, sun-dried is not obligatory, any way to dry the leaves is acceptable.

這種植物的正確名稱是苧蔴。苧的客家話發音是cu,所以,是苧葉粄cu yap ban,不是粗葉粄。
Hi, why is it necessary to cook 100 grams of the raw dough to be blended back into the raw dough when eventually all of it will be cooked anyway ? Thanks !

I used mine with pandan leaves :) Warning thou after boiling strain it because no matter how much I blend there were still small bits in the water.
Must soften the banana leaves before using?
