I recall this boss being incredibly difficult. Probably due to the fact that the dungeon drained my MP and HP quite a bit, and I was out of ethers and megalixers, but I beat him anyway. Still a great game, very challenging and lengthy. I have the GBA version.
My characters are named Laarry (meant to be Larry) the Black Mage, Z (wanted a cool, mysterious name) the Red Mage, Kol (I was REALLY bored...) the Rogue, and Mack (I don't know why...) the Warrior
In my opinion, this is the definitive version of the game. it retains the original's gameplay mechanics and difficulty while simultaneously fixing most of the bugs.
The numbered spells were how spells were in all FF games up until FFVIII came out. Since then, all FFs use the ara/aga and in newer cases, aja for LV4 spells. This was an exception where they went back to numbered spells to keep it close to the original version.
Nice, you figured it out. They're all old friends who I decided to use as the names for laughs. Was Drew's idea I think. Nick is Zexzer/Zerks or whatever he goes by these days.
This is an awesome version of an awesome game and it's SO much better than the more recent ones. Also I believe level 32 is considered "overleveled". If memory serves, Chaos is beatable at level 22 without TOO much difficulty.
@Bizkit047 but the japanese versions always had the same name because they were able to fit because japanese doesn't have seperate letters for consonants and vowels like ラ is ra and ガ is ga except for the first five which are vowels only アa イi ウu エe オo the old ff games on fc/nes only allowed a small amount of spaces so instead of blizzard blizzara they put ice1 ice2 and so forth
I Tried This With 3 Knights And 1 Red Wizard And Err Such A Pain. Seeing How Chaos Has 20.000 Hp In The GBA Version Does'nt Help To Not Have Black And White Mages. Anyways Great Job Dude.
hey guys I have a question about the storyline. So did Garland cause all the chaos and darkness 2000 years ago? And has this darkness been lasting for 2000 years until the light warriors came along
in the old NES version, i totally went with the paladin, ninja, white wizard, black wizard. first turn, have paladin + excalibur and wh wiz + masamune attack, while others cast haste. 7 or 8 hits from two characters, with a high likelihood of critical hits ends the battle fast.
I beat him on gba version with Knight level 73, Ninja level 73, Master level 73, and Red Wizard level 73, at first I wanted to make it long and ended up losing so I tried again but this time I didn't want to make it long anymore I and beat him. Oh and great fight but on which is it easier on to beat him on the PSX or GBA since I have only played the GBA version
The Cyclone spell animation that Chaos casts in this version looks cooler than in the PSP version, but does not sound as good, especially the lightning sound effects, which sound muffled. They should have carried the cyclone animation from this version into the PSP version but have the lightning animation from the PSP version on this.
Does the PSX remake still have that thing where if you have two characters attack one monster, and one of them kills it, the other one will just stupidly attack nothing? That was the main thing that turned me off playing the original version. That plus the decently large variations in damage made it hard to predict when enemies were about to die, and I'd end up wasting my character's turns. 8/
they gave him 20,000 hp in the gba version, but you can spam ethers on your white mage and keep healing while two characters are attacking. Not to mention you can save anywhere!
"sorry, I can only hadoken once per day. Maybe if we head out to the inn in the meantime I can recharge it for the final boss" FUCK YEAH CHALLENGING GAMES!!!
I always used a team of Knight, Ninja, White Wizard, and Black Wizard. This was mostly because I got the best of all the spells, and though Ninja wasn't that good for a while, when I got Masamune? FUCK YEAAAAAH.
Can somebody explain the plot here? Really confusing how Garland is revived into Chaos by going into the past. Is the plot basically that every New Game is a continuation of the past adventure?
The 4 fiends found Garland, sent him back into the past where he became Chaos...who then went on to create the 4 fiends and order them to find a guy named "Garland" and send him into the past. It's a time loop.
but I was playing the gba version, what version were you playing since on the psx I'm guessing you only need to be in level (3?) or so but in gba you should be like level (77-8?)
MysteryFigure035 you have to go through the citadel of trials near the chain of broken up islands and get a rats tail. then you go into a specific hole on one of the islands to meet the dragon king who upgrades your classes.
I love both of them. I've never been able to complete the original FF1, but I'm having a blast with Dawn of Souls. It's all a matter of preference. I don't find the difficulty of the original all that appealing...mostly because half of what makes the original so difficult is based on the limitations of the NES. Still, either one is good. Great kill.
And, it doesn't look any harder than the GBA version... I was at like level 56 when I fought Chaos, at he was still doing way more damage than he is here. Maybe that's just because I suck, but I'm pretty sure I had good stuff on everybody. About the only thing I notice is that Heal3 heals around 60 here, whereas in the GBA remake it heals about 150.
Yeah, a similar thing happen to me, all numbers were bigger, I was at LV99 and this guy was close to beat me even if I had used all protections. This seems too easy.
What. Iam lvl 48. He used haste. Then it was just 1 shot everything. I did atleast 10000 hp off him, stupid heal with 9999. I never hated a boss as much. Been trying for 3 hours. Guess I have to grind more lvls. The whole game was easy, only those Gherchins (or something, in the Modern Maze, 4 guys, and each does 500hp per attack)
It's possible to beat the game with only one character of any class. It's a common challenge. Of course it means you have to know everything and level up A LOT.
You DO realize that I'm talking about Final Fantasy I, which had no direct characters? Final Fantasy came out in 1987. This is just a remake of the original.Technically not the same thing. Squall, Cloud, and Tidus were not even thought of during this time period. And you also named 3 protagonists that just about everyone with a mind hates with a burning passion.
@QuintaFeira12 8-bit theater is the reason I want another game like FF1. Black mage is the fucking SHIT. I want another game where I can choose classes in the same style.
Lmao I was lvl 99 when I faced him and all I did was cast haste on the monk and berserk and he killed him in 2 hits hahahahahahaha and the knight hit him too but who cares
Man, good ol FF1. Ran all the way to a dungeon, grind 5 levels, get whole party posioned, then die right next to a town.
"two thousand years in the future, you killed me." Behold, the destructive powers time travel has on the english language!
Heh heh. Now that I have become the immortal Chaos, I can no longer fit through that door!
I recall this boss being incredibly difficult. Probably due to the fact that the dungeon drained my MP and HP quite a bit, and I was out of ethers and megalixers, but I beat him anyway. Still a great game, very challenging and lengthy. I have the GBA version.

8 years later, Final Fantasy 1 Pixel Remaster is looking to be the new definitive version.
I don't like the spell effects 9 years ago, that's for sure
The numbered spells were how spells were in all FF games up until FFVIII came out. Since then, all FFs use the ara/aga and in newer cases, aja for LV4 spells. This was an exception where they went back to numbered spells to keep it close to the original version.
I'm just glad Chaos has his own boss theme this time.
Nice, you figured it out. They're all old friends who I decided to use as the names for laughs. Was Drew's idea I think. Nick is Zexzer/Zerks or whatever he goes by these days.
In the GBA version I had LV99 and this battle was very hard to me. I dont understand.
This is an awesome version of an awesome game and it's SO much better than the more recent ones.
Also I believe level 32 is considered "overleveled". If memory serves, Chaos is beatable at level 22 without TOO much difficulty.

For some reason, the battle music seems much more suited for Dissidia than the original game.
I Tried This With 3 Knights And 1 Red Wizard And Err Such A Pain. Seeing How Chaos Has 20.000 Hp In The GBA Version Does'nt Help To Not Have Black And White Mages. Anyways Great Job Dude.
@payasitotibia NES, PlayStation, Game Boy Advance and PSP. Read the description to find out what version this is.
This boss is quite hard if you dont max to 50
I did finish this game. I noticed that in this game, exping is easier and faster than the others FF
Your talking about Dawn Of Souls or Origins? Because Origins take for ever for me
Dawn of Souls
Davide Pilla Yeah Dawn Of Souls is super easy from what ive heard. If you have a ps1 or ps3 i highly recommend getting origins for it
Yeah I beat Dawn of Souls without a Warrior or Knight.
In the original FFI, Chaos had 2000 HP, and he DID use Cure 4 for me very often.
hey guys I have a question about the storyline. So did Garland cause all the chaos and darkness 2000 years ago? And has this darkness been lasting for 2000 years until the light warriors came along

@CaveShinobi Trust me, the nes version is mad hard
I find it quite funny when the party just faceplants the stage after Chaos' Twister attack...
Anybody know where i can find the theme for that final boss room?
1plus1equals2 Underwater Temple

ThePoltergust5000 No if you kill a monster and another character is targeting it, they'll attack another monster instead
You can select this on the options games in this remake
if you like this version you should get the PSP version! The PSP version has hi res graphics, remastered music..etc.
The nes version didn't have this track lol
@QuintaFeira12 Screw your Hadoukens, Imma use a Shoryuken.
they gave him 20,000 hp in the gba version, but you can spam ethers on your white mage and keep healing while two characters are attacking. Not to mention you can save anywhere!
I finished him in like two moves by grinding to level 99 XD
@@pitbullsgaming2199 What? I had that level and had to cure myself every turn, this guy was difficult to me.
I believe it's called "Temple of Chaos".
"sorry, I can only hadoken once per day. Maybe if we head out to the inn in the meantime I can recharge it for the final boss"
FUCK YEAH CHALLENGING GAMES!!!

Ah, the classics...
Question- This wouldn't have anything to do with the release of Dissidia... would it?
It's being made.
Can somebody explain the plot here? Really confusing how Garland is revived into Chaos by going into the past. Is the plot basically that every New Game is a continuation of the past adventure?
garland made a time loop that made him immortal, thus turning him into a god.

i just found out that i actually never used the legendary equipment to defeat this guy
@Bizkit047 i have no idea why this is bothering me so much, but WHATS THE INSIDE JOKE? is it just with your friends? i just wanna know.
@Bizkit047 Thanks :D
This version looks easy but the production is pretty kick ass. Still has that classy retro feel to it.
i think both are great. i dont ahv a SNES anymore, so when i bought this, it was like blast-from-the-past aweosmeness. i used to have FF1 for snes
FF1 isnt of SNES, maybe you mean NES or youre talking about FFMQ.
How do u get the following spells for black Mage: steel, fog, saber, blind, and flare
MysteryFigure035 you have to go through the citadel of trials near the chain of broken up islands and get a rats tail. then you go into a specific hole on one of the islands to meet the dragon king who upgrades your classes.

Los buffos que se meten se acumulan?
Asies
you didnt get excaliber
Why didn't you get Excalibur for the knight? XD
Oh and I guess the magic use thing.
What. Iam lvl 48. He used haste. Then it was just 1 shot everything. I did atleast 10000 hp off him, stupid heal with 9999. I never hated a boss as much. Been trying for 3 hours. You can tell that I play this game a lot just by looking at my profile pic.
Is there even a point to leveling up that much? I'm level 35 and there's no challenge left at all.
why do u have a black mage and a white mage and a red mage , red mage can laern both white magic and black magic
It's possible to beat the game with only one character of any class. It's a common challenge. Of course it means you have to know everything and level up A LOT.
For first ff it have very Original story
try the shin megaten series
prolly the hardest and most OLD SKOOL RPG in the new gen

Fuck are you even rambling about.
The PSP and GBA version of this game is too easy.
I had fun with the GBA ff1, but I think Id prefer the psx one.
@EmotionlessPerson The newer generation of gamers like to see fancy big numbers :P
Garland has 2 accounts
I actually prefer this game to Vll and Vlll.
It's just more classic RPG like.
Nah, just a coincidence that I wanted to play it.
This is Final Fantasy 2 in Japan.
False af
@@floodkevin4716 Yeah I didn't do very good research 10 years ago honestly. Surprised it took so long to get a reply to this old comment, lol
awesome
I never finish this game
+sandryanus jeff You should try it on GBA/PSP
These version are easier and far way enjoyable
@QuintaFeira12 8-bit theater is the reason I want another game like FF1. Black mage is the fucking SHIT. I want another game where I can choose classes in the same style.
Yes he is he even said FFVII FFVIII and FFX are the only good FF's LOL!
Good music really can though lol.
He's just trolling br0.
Masamune is more powerful...
Good thing you're White Wizard/Mage wasn't a Jerk in this Fight
(Anyone watches Dorkly bits will get what I'm talking about) ;)
All the FFFBs are SUPER EASY And some of the earlyer bosses are SO MUCH HARDER LOL
When i look you vid of FF2 to i thnik FF1 is much better!
sigh I miss the days where the gaming industry was actually good and now their half-assed and rehashing a bunch of shit
It looks good to me, but I won't know until I see some real gameplay.
XD I remember that old NES one - pretty much all of the characters had the same sprite. Them were the days!
i liked FFIX untill i got trapped in that pit.
Awesome game with an awesome soundtrack.
This game is proof that good graphics don't make epic games
Dem's be trufax, bro.
never played FF so somone fill me in about FF
Jack Dreas hey i know its been 10 years but its about crystals
Lmao I was lvl 99 when I faced him and all I did was cast haste on the monk and berserk and he killed him in 2 hits hahahahahahaha and the knight hit him too but who cares
hoigan esto no es el original
