I fell in love with it and so did the people around me. The sweetness does die down a bit after 1/2 hour or so. This one is perfect for group settings- age does not matter 😊. Love your content.

    I'm in my forties and this was my signature scent for nearly a year.
    I never noticed the apple in it until I spent some time away from it and started getting more into fragrances, trying to pick out the different notes, and now that apple is clear as day.
    It is a very sweet and strong scent. Overspraying will clear out a room. Two to three sprays is plenty and would last easily 12 hours with enough projection that people around you could smell it (huge projection for the first couple hours), and as a skin scent it would last over 24 hours, even after a shower. On clothes it literally lasts weeks.

    just imagine Aaron would drop a new fragrance with only naturals in it (idk if this is possible) I also love fragrance with huge amount of naturals, I wouldn't care about the price actually

    • @CarlosCoelhoLechner
      @CarlosCoelhoLechner 2 года назад +4

      He stated a few times that the sweet spot for him is about 2/3 aroma-chemicals to 1/3 naturals.
      This is considered fairly high in naturals in the fragrance industry.
      Personally, I agree with that being the sweet spot.
      From a business standpoint, higher naturals come with the nightmare of harvest variations which makes it hard for batches to be consistent (in all aspects: performance variations, scent profile difference, price fluctuations, etc). An example of this is Creed Aventus: if you bought the 2016 and the 2017 batches the difference was huge and a lot of people got enraged.
      The predictability of aroma-chemicals is a great asset, both to the process of crafting a fragrance (perfecting a scent is an iterative process) and in order to consistently meet customer expectations.
      Despite naturals offering “fuller notes” fragrances with very high natural proportion tend to be very poor performers, which is also something nobody likes.
      It is possible to make a 100% natural fragrance, that’s how ancient people did them before we had modern chemistry. It’s just not very practical nor does it wield good results.

    I’m definitely out of the age demographic for this one (mid-40’s) and usually prefer more classically masculine scents like Terre D’Hermes, YSL L’Homme, GIT, etc… That being said, I got a sample of this when I was looking for a sweet fall/winter scent and liked it enough to grab a bottle. This one seems more mature than the original EDT to my nose while still being playfully sweet. Looking forward to picking up some ATH scents once they become more readily available here in the US.

    Hi Aaron - I heard you mention letting the fragrance dry down. I was wondering how long you typically let a fragrance dry down for before figuring it has settled long enough for you to experience the true heart of the fragrance, if there is such a thing?

    • @robertarmstrong6015
      @robertarmstrong6015 2 года назад

      Reviews of a fragrance after a couple minutes of applying makes absolutely no sense to me....whether one is a professional perfumer or not! Also...Aaron typically gives very little indication of what a fragrance actually smells like...it is more of a description of its chemical composition which gets repetitive since most fragrances are constructed in a similar fashion. For my purpose...I need to hear about the scent character at each stage of a fragrance...the notes responsible for same and of course comments on the performance which can only be accurately given after extended wear (anything else is speculation).
      Hopefully we get a bit more of that from these reviews.

    What did you mean by corporate perfumery?

  • @KenRus

    This whole house is built for highschool early college to get you into frags until the day you actually come across actual good stuff and never go back. From the smells themselves to the packaging. It's like curves slightly older brother, but not much older. If you go to a dept store and smell a bunch of stuff they have and just leave with a bottle from this house you aren't quite there yet. If that makes scents

      Nah it's just colognes. Age is irrelevant honestly. What's popular is popular nothing more too it. I have over 10k in colognes designer and niche and Elixer is still one of my favorites. I'm sure the marketing is perfect for younger men, doesn't take away from a good smell

    "I'm kinda dreading this but... hey yo." 😅 I feel like that sums up so much about so many things right now... Hey yo! 😉 I love your reviews! They are so descriptive and detailed. I learn so much from hearing how you break-down each fragrance and the insights you share. Thanks for the fantastic reviews.
